- John Mellencamp performs "Pink Houses" at the Farm Aid concert in Bristow, Virginia on September 12, 1999.
Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

1999 was my favorite version of his band.
One of the best versions of this song I’ve seen!
The best one was July 1992 when he had his best band together. The live at farm aid 1998 goes close to it.
