Damn, planning to buy this one. I really wanted the new Sportsman 800 but I live in Finland and I'm only 15 years old and the law says you can only drive like an EU version of ATV. It's like an tractor ATV, with limited speed. Only 40 km/h. Going to use it for working and going to school :) Can't wait to work with this beauty!
We just bought one(2015 white eps),this machine is amazing, picked up some vader rims and 27" mudlite xtr tyres i`ve had it in mud and water over the wheels !It is unstoppable, and as for pulling a wheelie ,put it in low lean back hit the throttle and pull up a bit and it does wheelie!!it is sweet! with the wheels and tyres my beast has over 40 cm`s (16 inches )of ground clearance.Polaris is fucking wicked!!... oh yeah and my seat does rattle a bit .Other than that we love it.
Allen D Glad to hear you like the machine as much as we do. We haven't seen the seat rattling issue on our machine but you may have more time on yours. Thanks for the feedback and watching.
mine is base 570sportsman dated jan 2015 its now nov 2017. its been ok apart from stalling once in a while in the cold. also we have the clacking drivetrain noise on the back wheel. many others complain about. been easy on it though and keep it it in my shed.
I picked one up a few weeks ago. Great value for sure but fit and finish of some parts are not great (exhaust heat shield rattle, poor seat fitment/securing mechanism, and side panel fitment/securing not ideal with noticeable vibration). I didn't want to spend $10,000 on a new machine so this was a great compromise. Suspension and motor and very good. Definitely an overall good package for the price.
Thanks for your input. Its always good to hear what owners who get more time with these machines think. We just picked up a 570 test unit and were pulling our hair out for 10 minutes last weekend trying to figure out how to get the seat off. We love the motor, suspension, and stability though.
Bought ours in late 2014 and have yet to have a single mechanical issue. Runs great, pulls well, and is even fun at the dunes. Only cons I've found is the turning radius is very large and the clanking noise when using the foot break sounds atrocious.
Clark N no its because they earn the hate. Polaris sucks they fall apart and break after 100 hrs. Shit cost you over 200 dollarsvan hour to maintain a polaris every hour driven
Only thing I don't like about polaris is there AWD system I'd rather have full control of when all 4 wheels are getting power then putting it in AWD and it just cutting in whenever traction might be lost
Won that exact quad in raffle last year, very cool only like 20 hrs on it, we put some shitty plow on w winch for 1k and now it just does parking lot lol
Best atv for the money hands down.. I have a 2016 eps and I had my doubts on Polaris and it's AWD system because I e always bought Suzuki and Yamaha (still have them) but this thing is a phenomenal atv I got for 5600$ .. You'll love it
Mine back fires, I've changed things to it, fuel pump, spark plug, clean carbinator, I just don't know what's left. Could it be bad gas, would octane booster work at all.
just bought one of these brand new, the airbox snorkel rattes on the gas tank, the seat fits like shit, pushes up where it meets the fuel tank. Sounds like a tin can getting kicked down the road when hitting bumps.. not overly impressed with my first polaris atv purchase. Shoulda stuck with yamaha. Any type of incline and that stupid front storage wont stay open, like you couldnt put a small hydraulic to help hold it open? or make the cable an inch longer so the rack can open a little more, and not fall closed on a slight incline...i find it sad that polaris couldnt figure this shit out before mass selling this bike...
I really like the Polaris sportsman for trail riding. Nice plush ride. I wish Polaris would make separate front and rear hand brake levers and a front locking dif. I do a lot of technical riding and want ability to actuate either front or rear individually or lock my hubs manually. I also wish my Popo sportsman utility racks were steel. My rear one has been cracked from previous owner accident. Polaris builds their value atvs with Mac struts in front because they r cheaper to make than Dbl A-arms, but dbl A-arm perform better IMO. Even with Popo sportsman minor quirks I still think it's a decent bike at a good price. You can buy the 570 1 up for under $7k and the 570 touring 2up for under $8K. That's pretty cheap when u consider the competition prices of similar atvs. CanAmShredder- I'm sure the can am bikes r faster, but it also costs more. The CA 500 is around $8k and the 650 starts at around $9k. This popo 570 base cost is under $7k. That leaves me a grand to buy better tires and a winch. LOL! I actually like the CA OUTY but wud like to see the price come down.
JBodine67 Yes, I agree. I've heard good things about both those atvs u mention, and the Suzuki King quad as well. Kawa BT has that super fast v twin. Yamaha Grizz and Suzuki KQ have good low end torque from single cyl. engines.
I have a 2010 500 HO love it but why is the battery so low on the 570 it's to low and in the open I already put a branch thru mine can't imagine having the 570 in deep water
+David Ridgell We wouldn't say no stress. If you tend to ride at low speeds in high range already, you will wear your belt quicker. If you are the type of rider to shift into low range for prolonged periods under 10 to 15mph you might be okay. Its always best to reclutch when you go to a bigger heavier tire. That's the other factor. Most aftermarket tires will be heavier than stock.
+Zachary Lawrence Yes, it does. I've ordered a 15' Polaris 570 touring with the brush guard that you'll find on the older 500. Will pick it up in two days.
Does anyone have a 570 that has a CLACKING sound between acceleration and decelleration? Its very frustrating. It doesn't sound good. Seems to be getting worse. Didn't do this when I bought it in feb 2016. Polaris says it's normal. And when I use the foot brake, it's even far worse!!!!!!! When using foot brake on (specially on loose grass/snow, it will do several clacking noise until i stop the machine.
+Bryan Oates I'm pretty sure we have heard the same noise you are talking about. You can even hear it a few times in our video. It sounds like it is coming from the rear deive shaft when your scrubbing off speed. Our 2015 test unit that we used in a shootout against the Can-Am 500L made the same noise. It seems to be normal an has never caused us an issue. If you are going all the proper maintenance and are afraid that there is an issue with something getting worse, have your dealer look it over now while it is still under warranty and have them make a note of your concerns. If the machine checks out clean and an issue arise right after the warranty is up, you have a leg to stand on.l
your music makes all your videos sooo uncomfortable to watch. i can barely hear the information given unless I turn the volume up but then the music gets extremely annoying. You guys should really address this.
Well I did buy one today. Guess what...clunky transmission. And word on the street is this is normal. Clanking noise when getting in and if throttle. And I know exactly what it is. Flywheel play in the transmission gearbox. Apparently it slapping around in there is acceptable by Polaris and most people just take the explanation of its normal. No...those parts should have a ZERO tolerance for any play (movement).
Go look at my video on it. Dealer says " perfectly normal" just as I expected. If a sloppy product is their normal then I suppose they are right. Also yes it has some clutching play but that is perfectly normal. What I found out is is those 2 rear axles binding up and popping brand new from the factory. Again the dealer says " normal". We shall see
+JohnnyRebKy still making noise? I ve ridden my Suzuki a lot lately and I have to agree with you the 570 tranny is a bit noisy .. I love this damn thing though .
Angelo Contreras I wanted an ATV for years before I could afford to buy one. Start saving your money. If its important enough to you, you'll find a way to afford it. Tell your dad you want to start working so you can buy our own ATV.
lol quarreling over 1HP, that's so sad. That 570 would be brilliant. I have an 850, but probably would have taken this 570 if it had been available back then. All ATVs are fun (even a little 250), it's all about how and where you ride, not what you ride. Though I love how comfortable and capable the Polaris is.
CANAMSHREDDER that's a fair point, though I would expect different characteristics from a large single cylinder than a V-twin though (of equivalent total displacement). A large single would naturally be better down low rpm (like the Grizzly 700), V-twins are better for revving and putting out power at higher rpm. It would be interesting to compare the actual characteristics of these two very-different motors.
Ed L On my last ATV ride, I rode a Can-Am instead of my Sportsman, and I swear they are not as stable. It was narrower and shorter and I tipped it over, going down a trail I was familiar with. Wife behind me on the Sportsman, no problem. I knew the Polaris wouldn't even feel the slightest bit tipsy in the same situation.
Honestly, why would anyone want one of these? A 750 pound (dry) 500-class ATV with single lever brakes and an engine that sounds like a juice blender? Not to mention the slow engaging helix and huge stall of the primary clutch. You have to rev it up hard just to make it move an inch! Oh, and then there's the fact you have to buy an upgraded model to get engine braking and their stupid descent control that every other brand of ATV comes with automatically for free. And don't even get me started on their AWD nightmare...Save that "wonderful design" for the wannabe off road vehicles like Subaru! Then zip to 1:20...please tell me that's not where they really mounted the battery? Oh, and I really love the John Deere tractor style shift lever that's 3 feet long. Ha ha! Not to mention the plastic book shelves that they brag about like they're more useful than a real metal rack. Last but certainly not least, we can't forget about the fact that you never see a Polaris on the trails with over 3000 miles. In the rare case you do, it certainly has had its equal value spent in repairs to keep it going. Yeah, these are great machines! Lol!
I've got a 2016 and it doesn't weigh 750lbs, the front end comes up in high gear, the engine has loads of torque and power, my top speed is 69 mph, it has engine breaking and eps, I paid $5,600 bucks for it and my last sportsman went over 5000 miles when I gave it to a relative for chore work...It's still running good...

+Allen D i think the rattle sound you hear in the seat might actually be the air box snorkeler hitting the plastic, i had to trim 1/2" off of mine.
+Team666Ford Well.. thank you very much dude ,ill have a look at er for sure as soon as the snow melts a lil more ,cheers bro.

Buying one tomorrow. Last 2014 at the dealership. Getting a sweet deal
J Bouchard Hope your enjoying it!
I got a lemon somethinkills battery took to fix still does the. Same
I kept it for 3 years. Was a good machine but went to a side by side

Same. When the newer models seem to break up all the time but my 2014 has never breaked down and it has over 30 000 km
Always wanted one of these for 🎄 my cousin Diego said in my dreams😢
Make your dreams come true.
I am planning to buy this !!! ))

I'll be tearing up the trails up here in Maine with the 570 this spring.
Can you please go easy on the background music? It’s too loud.
Agreed we've been backing it down more recently
I'm thinking about getting one. Are they good for mud?

So the storage in front of the quad comes already built into the ATV
D3RPIE SH4RK Yes it does. The front rack is the storage box cover.
Oh ok cool that's nice !
I hope I get one for my birthday I love the Polaris brand.
nice improvement
Mine back fires, I've changed things to it, fuel pump, spark plug, clean carbinator, I just don't know what's left. Could it be bad gas, would octane booster work at all.
iKurj It's fuel injected. It doesn't have a carb. How did you clean the carb if it doesn't have one?
Spark arrestor

Id say 3500 to 4500€
betther like suzuki kingquad 750?
can you run 26's without a clutch kit with no stress?
