Helen did a great job. Nightsong's anger is kind of unhinged and scary at time. For me, Dame Aylin is more intimidating than the Dead Three's chosen. For my first playthrough, my character is kind of neutral when I started and picked all the good choice later on, in my head canon, the guy was so scared of Aylin that he picked all the good choices. He would rather face down the Dead Three just so he won't go back to camp and face Nightsong's wrath 😅
Dame Aylin is probably my favorite non party character in the game and I've been hoping we'd get some behind the scenes content about how she came together. Thanks to you and Helen for the interview!
My only complaint about Aelyn's content is that my Selunite Cleric Paladin still looks horrified when Dame Aelyn wrecks people in cutscenes. If anything, my Tav would be ecstatic to witness that, like "FUCK YES!!!! SMITE THEM ALL IN THE NAME OF THE MOONMAIDEN!"
Oh yea that was amazing and how shocked Tav is by that sudden attacking of his body with such passionate unbridled rage. Which really was an Authentic reaction.
Her release scene is one of my favorite scenes in gaming history, and is among the best reveals in my 10ish years playing dnd. My favorite Aylin line is when she gets freed. The music and her performance is so perfect. Also love the character because my current pc in descent into Avernus is also a child of the moon maiden Selune
It's crazy to think about her recording the scenes with Isobel without being in the same room. Making that work might be the most impressive part tbh. I wonder if the two actors have ever even met.
That's the thing about BG3. Most of the time , all the actors had to record separately and either record after listening to the other actor's recorded lines or the director giving them the lines
Aylin is legit so talented, there isn't a line that she did that she failed. All brilliant, the feeling is there 100% ! Helen you are fabulous ❤ At times I wish I could have snatched your character from Isobel 😂
Her relationship with isobel was heartwarming and fun to watch… but I would’ve left whoever I was romancing at the time in a second if Dame was a romance option.
The physical movement as she is on the ground and breathing up and down and her body is breathing heavy and it was such great physical acting… it is a small detail but really adds so much to Nightsong before slamming into the ground. It is great to hear how she was thoughtful about these parts. So much respect for the team involved with her motion and voice capture.
Inarguably my favourite character from the game and one of my favourite characters in awhile. Her energy is always 110%, Keeley's delivery is constantly infallible. The reveal of who she was and after you free her is a brilliant moment and one of the top gaming moments. Seeing the white fire and corpses on the approach to the tower, seeing her blitz across the sky, amazing. Plus, her deep true love for Isobel reminds me of classic medieval love, of knights and heros who return from their journey atop a might steed wanting to only see their love. I loved when the two of them joined my camp, they truly felt like part of the team. My favourite delivery of hers "oho, face us charlatan, we who detest you so!" Felt so cathartic. Rolan, Aylin and I standing united against just a terrible guy. Even though the quality of Act 3 is a big dip, I'll always remember that moment as a highlight.
@@drangelice yaa it's so cool that some of the best moments of this game is with Dame Aylin. I'll always remember that moment when you set her free. You immediately feel a connection
OH MY GOD ITS DAME AYLIN!!! I WAS WAITING TO SEE HER SO BADLY! I LOVE her character! She did phenomenal performance in BG3! Im so, so, so happy to see her face finally and her personality!!
Again, a great interview and a nice discovery of the person who give so much power to the resplendent and indomitable dame Aylin ! Lorroakan broken on her kneel is soooo catartic ! ...and the stomping of Ketteric skul is so fringtening ! Never at ease when I spoke to her in my camp, she could learn Tav how to flight with a single slap on the shoulder.
@@BehindTheVoicePod oooooh yeah, I've learn that too : 1st round, misty step, she's free. 2nd round, that son of a squid of illithid controls her. Ouch. First kill : in my team.
I was trying to romance Shadowheart, but when we met dame Aylin... so beautiful, powerful and amazing, I was ready to put Shadowheart down if she were to attempt to hurt that beauty despite my warnings not to do so.
Freeing the Nightsong is easily the best scene in Act 2 and one of the best in the entire game. I quite literally had tears in my eyes. After such a depressing chapter in the story, seeing pure divinity was so uplifting. “Lay a hand on me in friendship, not-quite Sharran, and I will fight the battle that has been waiting for me this last century. Then-oh then, we will have much to discuss” is also one of my favorite lines in the entire game. Just how Aylin knows that Shadowheart isn’t nearly as heartless as she pretends to be, but is also fighting back the rage from a century of torment at Sharran hands…best supporting character in the entire game. Also I will always take her to Lorroakan to watch that puny pathetic wizard get his spine snapped in half like a toothpick. Really don’t know what he was expecting to happen. Helen’s voice perfectly captured the character: commanding and powerful, yet noble and kind at the same time.
Exactly my thoughts. That scene of Aylin being free finally is really amazing. As I said in the episode, I love dramatic moments and this one was that. Helen is so amazing and her performance for this character was brilliant
I just love Helen Keeley. Fantastic voice actor. The perfect choice for Aylin! Ive also been listening to some audiobooks she voiced and shes incredible in that (its called Inscape by Louise Carey! Well worth a listen)
