What is your credit amount with US Bank? Just asking because I currently have 5 credit cards totaling about $31k between all my cards & next month I am getting my 6th card with them which is the Altitude Go card for $10k because I have a credit card with Union Bank & it's being converted over since US Bank bought Union Bank & I was looking into the Shopper Rewards card I don't know when yet.
@@MarkReese Thanks. With my new Altitude Go I should have $41k & I didn't want to waste a hard pull. I've been with US Bank for 10 years & I have a business checking account & personal checking & savings accounts as well as my credit cards. Again thanks.

Yeah, I do not recommend applying 2 or more credit lines at the same time unless you have a lot of money to burn for sign up bonuses. But maybe about a year or two, maybe you can apply for more depending on spending and strategy. For me, I am currently focusing on Cash Back at moment. I do have a travel card that I opened 2 years ago and it works for me when I am outside of my hometown.
@@RodrigoArgumedo It all depends on your spending habits for sure. I could see myself doing this with a beginner card with a low spending requirement and a mid-tier card with another spending requirement that's pretty low. However, 1 card every few months works for me right now.

Yeah the anniversary bonus really got my attention, and the automatic Platinum Elite status is a nice addition on top of that. Good point about the rewards & protections for cell phone 👊
Congrats on the approval of the Choice Hotels card! That is a nice card and it’s worth the annual fee for the free night. Usually when I stay in a lower end hotel, I stay in a Choice Hotels property. Eventually, I may get the card myself, but right now I’m content with my IHG Rewards Premier card and my Hilton Honors card. Hopefully you will also be approved for the U.S. Bank credit card. When I got my Cash+ card, I applied on a Sunday evening and did not get approved until Thursday morning. I even called recon on Tuesday and they told me I would get an email with an answer soon. I have never applied for 2 credit cards in the same day. The closest I’ve come to that is applying for 2 cards 8 days apart. Interestingly, when I was approved for the Cash+ card, I applied for and was approved for the Chase Freedom Flex 6 days later.

She put my app into manual underwriting. She said that i would get a letter in 7 to 10 days but if approved I would receive an email. I have been trying to get into usbank for years with no success. 3 weeks ago i opened a personal checking account with a deposit of over 4 thousand. I was hoping that would help.
@@MarkReese the letter says the reason is “Total amount of revolving debt”. They told me this when i called recon. I did thos w/ Apple & Amex side by dise 2 devices. It worked but I mis typed something on Amex side triggering a call us back. I did, they fixed it. But I'm curious if that cost any time ? What do U think is the time lag as to who sees what 1st? Good video
They can be redeemed for a free night...at my leisure. Unlike free night 'certificates' that have a 1 year expiration, Choice Privileges points never expire as long as you have account activity (earn / redeem) every 18 months.
@MarkReese 1 was chase. To many cards. I thought I'd take my shot since they relaxed 5/24. But not for me I'm at like 9/24 lol. And venture X was too soon after last inquiry. Maybe because it was like 10 minutes haha
Just an update , I had no plans on applying for anymore cards after my denials. I just saw an email today 2 weeks later with a targeted 150k amex platinum offer so I wasn't going to pass that up. Didn't think I'd get approved because I have already several cards but I was approved yeah. 150k after spending 6k in 6 months.
@@MarkReese Can't wait to see the update to this video whether or not you're approved for the U.S. Bank Altitude Connect card! I'm hoping you give an update this week! I'm sure you're most likely going to get the card. If you get approved I would love to see a full unboxing video and the back and front of card with the shiny Visa Signature logo in the corner like you normally do and possibly a weight test. There's not many unboxing videos for U.S. Bank cards that I've seen on TH-cam. Also btw I think the U.S. Bank Altitude Connect is plastic and the U.S. Bank Altitude Go is the same as the CSP/CSR kind of weird since one has a 95 annual fee and the other doesn't but that's what I've heard.

@@DB6904. - Wow that's frustrating. Thanks for reporting back.
Thinking about that US Bank card, can you downgrade before the fee kicks in?
I would never recommend downgrading a card before 1 full year has passed. I also allow the fee to post. After that, you can call & request a product change & get the fee refunded as long as you do so within 30 days of the fee posting.
Thanks. Now I am debating. May wait a bit until some bank has another 80K opening bonus.
😅 no sabía que hablabas Español. ¿De donde es el acento? Oh yeah, congrats on your new card
No lo hablo con fluidez pero lo sigo aprendiendo. Ya que nunca viví en otro país y que mis padres no hablan español, el acento proviene de mi mente 😄 Es una mezcla ✌
Mark, how are you justifying altitude connect and reserve? Or is it just about the sign up bonus?
1. Signup bonus (main reason)
2. Broad 4X Travel category + 4X Gas
3. Get my 2nd U.S. Bank card that earns points so I can get hands-on experience with the rewards program (e.g. prove to myself I cannot combine points with the Altitude Reserve to get 50% more value).
@@MarkReese I have the altitude connect and really like it. I use it for gas and 4x on hotels. Sometimes flights, normally use the gold card for flights.
Buena suerte con US Bank!
Gracias Ben! Qué me la aprueben! 😁
hello, tell me please, is there any point in buying tradelines or are they scammers? Thank you
I'm not a fan of selling or buying tradelines. The ones you see in the comments are typically scammers.
Can you tell me how you apply to like 3 credit cards just on a single month?? I really want to do the same, but they won’t approve me 😢
What's your credit score? How long is your credit history?
@@MarkReese credit score all bureaus around 720, credit history average is 1 year 6 months, but my oldest is 6 years but because authorized user. I was able to get the CSR and last month got the IHG premier because of the bonus but this month wanted the Amex plat, and got denied with no option of reconsideration because I recently applied too many credit cards according to the rep.
@@FedericoKog - Got it. If the reason for the denial is for applying for too many cards, then the only solution I'm aware of is to wait. There isn't a formula to guarantee approvals for cards.
I was just approved for my 5th one in slightly less than a month. I only had one credit card for 17 years before that though.
Debiste ver mi cara de sorpresa al escucharte hablar español, lo hablas excelente. You should open a channel in Spanish since there are not many, especially with your knowledge of the subject. greetings from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
Gracias Jorge! 💯
I just applied for a usbank business card. I was denied. Recon told me that my TU score was 795 but that they dont use credit scores for underwriting. She said it was not fico but would not say wich one was pulled. I asked they pulled vantage and she said no but it doesn’t matter because they pull it but they dont use it. She put my app into manual underwriting. She said that i would get a letter in 7 to 10 days but if approved I would receive an email. I have been trying to get into usbank for years with no success. 3 weeks ago i opened a personal checking account with a deposit of over 4 thousand. I was hoping that would help.
Did they give you specific reasons why you were denied? Still waiting on the letter?
@@MarkReese the letter says the reason is “Total amount of revolving debt”. They told me this when i called recon. I told them that the cards with the high utilization i am an authorized user on except for my newish Amex card. I have been working on the sign up bonus but i just told them that i just went on vacation and would be paying this card down asap. Even with the authorized user and the new accounts I’m at 14% utilization. Without the authorized user accounts I’m just under 10%. I was thinking of going in branch to ask for reconsideration.
Does your strategy involve staying under 5/24 anymore?
Not at all 😁
@@MarkReese okay I was just wondering cause I was like holy smokes 2 cards at once 🤣 No way he's applying for chase anymore
I applied for the Free Choice card just to see if i would be approved really shouldn't have I already have 2 other Wells Fargo cards and had opened 2 other cards in the last year 1 with PNC and the other with US Bank but I got instantly approved for $10K they pulled Equifax and according to the info my Score was a 777 at the time never had any luck with applying with Barclays in the past i know alot of people don't like Wells Fargo but with me anyways they weren't stingy with giving a decent starting limit like Citi, Bank of America, US Bank, and PNC
Congrats on the approval, Larry!
Mark do you ever apply to anymore chase cards?
Nope, I'm ineligible ✌️
Wow hablas muy bien el español 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. Me gustaría que hiciera videos hablando en Español de tarjetas.
Gracias!
The Spanish was DOPE!!
Thanks Jay!
Ive been trying to learn Spanish…how long did it take you?
I'm not done yet, so I can't answer that! 😄 Everyone's pace will be different. Check out Lingopie.
Hey man, love the channel. I have an interesting question for you… want to see what you would choose and why. For your cellphone bill, would you rather use the BILT and use the cellphone protection, or the INK cash to activate that 5x points category? I have both cards but split between what’s the better choice here! PS I’m team travel
I'd use the Ink Cash as I don't care much about the insurance protection. My focus is on the rewards.
I did thos w/ Apple & Amex side by dise 2 devices. It worked but I mis typed something on Amex side triggering a call us back. I did, they fixed it. But I'm curious if that cost any time ? What do U think is the time lag as to who sees what 1st?
Good video
Interesting! I reviewed all the details so I sure hope there isn't a typo 😬 What lag time are you referring to?
@@MarkReese The time the automated pull is done between the "2" done side by side vs if done "1" after the other.
@@khanscombe619 - No idea.
Got a phone call right before the Spanish part and when I hung up I was the most confused I’ve ever been
😂👊
I got my sis watching you!
Right on, spread that credit knowledge!
The anniversary points on the choice hotels card is only for a free night; or 30k points to use at your leisure?
They can be redeemed for a free night...at my leisure. Unlike free night 'certificates' that have a 1 year expiration, Choice Privileges points never expire as long as you have account activity (earn / redeem) every 18 months.
Hopefully you go 2 for 2 and get out of the 1 for 2 limbo!
I hope to too!
I have even up to three credit cards at the same time
Awesome! 💯
Hermano, el español me sacó de onda! Felicidades! Cuantas tarjetas tienes ahora, 54? 55? Muchas para recordar 😂
Jaja boom! 👊💥 Ahorita con la aprobación de la Choice Select llegué a 53 ✌️
Why do u want the choice card if u like Marriot and are chasing lifetime platinum status?
Mark is all about the annual points (you get 30k with this one every year)
I still stay at other properties if / when Marriott doesn't have what I want or need for a given trip.
Hey Mark! Are you still on the AmEx pop up jail! ?
Nope. That was close to 2 years ago ✌️ I don't remember how long it took to get out, but it was probably a few months.
I applied for 2 cards yesterday , denied for both lol. Oh well I don't really need more cards just wanted the 80k CSR bonus
Ah bummer. Did you find out the reason(s)?
@MarkReese 1 was chase. To many cards. I thought I'd take my shot since they relaxed 5/24. But not for me I'm at like 9/24 lol. And venture X was too soon after last inquiry. Maybe because it was like 10 minutes haha
@@thebeddoctor4273 - At least both were for acceptable reasons 😁
@MarkReese not acceptable to me lol. Even 800s get denied sometimes.
Just an update , I had no plans on applying for anymore cards after my denials. I just saw an email today 2 weeks later with a targeted 150k amex platinum offer so I wasn't going to pass that up. Didn't think I'd get approved because I have already several cards but I was approved yeah. 150k after spending 6k in 6 months.
your spanish is great
Thank you!
The US bank one sounds like no bueno.
😬
Chad's Money Minutes did something just like this. Yours is equally as cool.
Legit! 💯
Ayooo he got that Miami Spanish accent 🤣
😎🤙🌴
You outlined your credit score details. What was your income level to get $20k credit line. Please comment. Thanks!
I don't reveal income.
Wa ta 😳😳😳 why have it in spanish though? Also you read better spanish than i do 🤣🤣🤣
U are literally a spaniard?😱😱😱 coool
Because the best way to learn a language is to immerse yourself in it! 😁
@MarkReese that's true plus spanish is easy to read and needed too in the us
Your Latino?
We need an answer to this question!!
No, but I feel Latino more often that you might think 😂🇨🇴
Did u get approved for the US bank ?
Still pending 😬
2 cards in one day is something i wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. You’re sinking to a depth in the game that most refer to as “the abyss”.
😂👊
Yes sir! 👍
💯
I’ve only seen bad reviews of the U.S. bank card.
It has its place for the right people. I see it as a sort of 'travel cash back card' (that is, earn rewards that are good for cash back when paying for travel, incl. gas).
It also got some additional benefits earlier this year, including:
- Complimentary Priority Pass Select Membership (4 free visits / yr.)
- Trip Cancellation/Interruption Insurance
- Trip Delay Insurance
