    OK, halfway through the reaction now. Here's what I have to say: INK is a band where they can sound SUPER heavy (check out Take Your Pick feat. Corpsegrinder), but they do have some catchy as fuck choruses. I fucking loved this album that came out a few weeks ago. It's amazing! Also, if I'm not mistaken, there is a story line that started in the previous album called the Silver Scream. This new one is called Welcome To Horrorwood: The Silver Scream 2

    I see a lot of people reacting to this and getting shocked by the kid being hit by the truck. It's making me feel like I'm heartless because I didn't react to it at all.. I have a toddler myself and obviously losing a child, especially as tragically as that could just send you off the rails and lose the will to live. But seeing it happen, doesn't affect me.. Don't know if that just means I'm good at separating fiction from reality or if it means I'm some kind of sociopath lol.

    • @ThunderRooster
      @ThunderRooster  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Only you can answer that lol. But I would say separating fiction. I’m usually pretty good about it myself. Must have just caught me off guard.

    • @xDarkTrinityx
      @xDarkTrinityx 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It didn't phase me either, I chalk it up to 1. It happened so fast that you really didn't see anything. 2. Separating fiction from reality 3. I know they're a horror based band, I'm familiar with their music and videos already so I already expected gore. Also probably because that scenes wasn't "gory" compared to other things they've shown.
      But I can see how someone going into it, not knowing what exactly to expect and having children could catch you off guard.

    This is part of an entire story that INK/Ice Nine Kills is playing out you need to watch the videos in order to understand. Hip to be scared ft Jacob followed by Assault and Batteries next Rainy day and last Funeral Derangements. The videos are all based on very old classic horror movies but it also portrays an entire story. First one Hip to be scared ft Jacob is Spencer is a psycho who is telling stories of murder to his therapist and instead of getting him actual help he's selling the stories in books and making massive money "American psycho" lyric is what the video is actually based on the classic American psycho and at the end Spencer makes a phone calling to his lawyer confessing about the murder and he's taken in by police but says "this confession has meant nothing"
    Following by Assault and Batteries based on classic Chucky horror movies. The story for this one is that Spencer who plays the fiancé and Spencer real life fiancée who plays the fiancée and mom one night on a dark stormy night her son turns on the tv to watch his show but the news is on and they say "a shootout at a toy store has one officer dead and a serial killer on the loose" and the mom brings in a giant doll box and after the mom leaves the doll (Spencer) comes to life and begins chasing his own child through the house. Oh and yes Spencer is 6ft tall on his knees crawling while looking like a life-size possessed doll the most funniest thing INK has ever done. The doll (Spencer) possesses the child who kills the mom/fiancée and the police they discover the mom body and believes it's Spencer/the fiancé who did it but say "we have 48 hours to get proof or he walks!" and the only evidence is a mask the mask that allowed Spencer to posses the child who killed the mother. Police do not know that they just think it's a silly mask.
    Next is Rainy day it is based on the classic Resident evil. There are two videos watch the first one and then click the link INK has in there description for the rest of the story. Spencer/the fiancé is a police officer and the female (Spencer real life fiancée) is sort of held captive at the building filled with the undead and then goes back the police station and they have now "18 hours to hold him" and all the evidence is so far is video tapes nothing hard proof to pin him so he keeps getting release but his fiancée dies again but this time again he didn't do it a pack of zombies did it. Legally they can't pin him to the murder's that keep happening why? cause somehow Jacob died, the mask and now zombies are all linked to the deaths. Spencer is playing the innocent "I loved her! I could never do something that horrid to her" type of killer during integration. LOL Spencer lawyer is saying it's the Ice Nine Kills/INK fans who have been named "the psychos" who been doing all the murders then his lawyer is like "yeah no they wouldn't do that! it's the ex band members!!" Spencer claims the mask is sold at every store (a quote from the Scream) anyone could own one and then the lawyer says "18 hours left and Spencer walks"
    Next up is Funeral Derangements based on the classic horror movie pet sematary. Spencer is asking "how do you explain death to a young child" because the cat of their family just died and the guy says "maybe you don't have to" he's trying to imply that do a reincarnation ceremony you know like dead body in center of a pentagram demonic words and weird dance moves around the circle to bring the body back but in cemetery and with animal masks. Now there going back through to before when Spencer was on the farm with his alive fiancée (who dies about a million times already) and there young son they were eating together outside when there son saw a black cat and ran over to it but a truck driver didn't see the boy in the road and the kid dies. This is the entire opposite of the start because the cat died but in this case the kid died why? because Spencer bought the cat back to life like the guy said could happen to prevent the "explain death to a kid" but as a result a human sacrifice had to be made. The basic of like the anime full metal alchemist plot which is basically bring the dead back to life but make sacrifices for it. So the child was the human sacrifice and Spencer unable to live with what he had just done bought cat back for his son but son died he un-buries his child and is singing about how he will fix it that he will bring him back. So he does the entire reincarnation ceremony again but for his son and the fiancée she hears about it and she yells at him like "WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT!! I-I HAVE TO CALL THE POLICE!" and processed to get murder again. At the second he goes to bury his now dead fiancée he sings "I'll see you on the other side but I'd kill to bring you back tonight" he's singing this because Spencer learned the first time a human sacrifice must be made for the dead one to be brought back he can't handle living without his son so he's saying "I will see you one day but that's too long. I had to kill but it will bring you back" he felt that his son was more value to him then his fiancée.
    So the fiancée and son come back to life and the son murders Spencer and they do another reincarnation ceremony to bring them back to live. One dead body for a person to live basically. Spencer comes back alive as a zombie like the fiancée and son but the reincarnation did not work because now there all from the undead. Back to the police station and yup only evidence is video tapes and bite marks did comes back to match Spencer but he is apparently kinky so that's out of evidence lol. However the police said "the stab in the back killed her" and the tape it shows it.
    That is the complete story line so far.

I just love the way Michael decorates. If you want, they have a Friday the 13th song (Thank God it's Friday), where the children are teenagers before they are brutally murdered. They also have a Halloween song (Stabbing in the Dark). Again, the children are teenagers. I wouldn't suggest Assault and Batteries, it is based of Childs Play.

    Hit like before I even watched. I'm a little suprised Ron isn't like that one. I think it's a great song and video, but as a father, I TOTALLY get the association with your kid. I did that a LOT, especially when they were young. But what I love most is your honesty. I'm sure a lot of people would feel this way, but I personally would rather see you (or any reactor) say they don't vibe with it instead of a fake "oh, this is great" BS. I might recommend "Assault & Batteries" as another try (if you're interested in that). It's based on Chucky/Child's Play. And I'm sure someone has to have mentioned it, they're videos are telling a story (the stuff at the end), so you lose a little context there. The one problem with INK’s style of having an interconnected story in their videos is when it comes to these reaction videos. Kills the momentum when you go from hearing and seeing a banger song and video for the first time to a seemingly random (and dull if you don’t know what’s going on) clip that is almost as long as the song itself. I always find myself wishing they’d just pause the video after the song and skip the clip entirely.

    No one says that is Judd Hirsch starring in the the video. This makes me sad.

    I understand the pain of watching the video, because it happens to me too. I tear up almost any time I watch the movie or the music video. Pet semetary (which I'm currently reading, it's great...and painful.) Is not supposed to be fun or pleasant. So, the feeling you had watching the music video was the intended response to the book, film or music video. They did amazing in that regard. It's unfortunate that you didn't vibe with it, as this is one of my favorites from them in general. They are typically heavy with very poppy, grand choruses. So, just be aware. It's what makes me a super fan of theirs but it's not for everyone. As someone with kids, I get it. This video is painful as hell but the song is meant to be that. I hope you do more but I'll understand if you don't!

They are a great band and this song imho is great, but once again I understand and respect your opinion and totally get the visceral personal reaction it drew out of you. Thanks for stopping by. There is some pretty heavy Christian metal. But that’s beside the point. This is a huge example of what is wrong with the metal community. I didn’t care for a song that took good elements of heavy and tried to pin a fall out boy/ pop punk style chorus in.

    The song was really okay. The video technically too, but what I don't understand is that bands "need" such hard scenes to their music. Yes, sometimes it belongs to the lyrics and is also due to what should be expressed - but I find that for example Eskimo Callboy have also managed to Nice Boi that an adult understands the problem and hardness, without blood but with confetti - and a child does not get nightmares or worse when he sees the MUSIC VIDEO.
    Basically I have nothing against such a thing, I love for example "Ash vs Evil Dead", Walking Dead and I can even feel entertained by movies like Eaten Alive, but there is then also an age statement not without reason...
    For our age group but basically understandable and good choice for today's Helloween day.

    • @BrettCahill
      @BrettCahill 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Their music videos are based on the film's that inspired the songs, if it was confetti blood then it would kind of ruin the tribute in my opinion. The fact that people react the way they do just shows that they did a great job representing the films

    • @barebones4054

      Their songs and videos are based on the movies, reason why there is gore. It's not to just shove it in, there is an actual sound reason for it.

      I know they are trying to pay homage to movies. I never said they were doing it badly, on the contrary. However, the bottom line is that the movie "Friedhof der Kuscheltiere"/"Pet Sematary" is rated R in the US, as far as I know 17 years, and rated 16 years in Germany. I don't know if you have kids, maybe even 8 years old or maybe 10 years old - but seriously, would you want your 8 year old child, who is probably faster and more internet savvy than you are, to watch such a video without any age restriction and then probably without any explanation / appeasement from you? That's my point.
      That Ice Nine Kills do a good job - absolutely. In my eyes, such a good job that their music would not need to be so visually implemented. Could they do a better job? Yes, in my eyes absolutely - you can do a different job on a movie without the music getting worse or the video having to be boring because of it. So it is, for my feeling, simply also showmanship to get corresponding clicks and thus success. As I said, it's just my unimportant opinion and if there would be any system that small children could not see such videos it would also absolutely top. If I want to watch "Ash vs Evil Dead" from my trusted streaming provider then I have to enter a PIN.
      And now I just hope that my bad English is still understandable - and again: Ice Nine Kills do a good job - the result can only be seen by too many for whom it is not suitable far too easily. And yes, I know that this is a fundamental problem.

      @@a.p.1470 There are far more scarier things in the world than simulated blood bud. You shouldn't hide from music videos because you're afraid kids will see corn syrup in a music video. They see worse everyday. Hell to your point since you think kids are so savvy, what makes you think a simple age restriction will stop them from seeing what they want? This stuff is plastered all over media all the time, no need to shame it. You should embrace it
