I understand that as a content creator you'd usually want to post races that are more "exciting" with loads of overtakes ect. But I for one really enjoy these clean, clinically executed races with consistent pace. Helps me in my own driving more to watch someone do that than overtaking people with half the IR
I greatly enjoy the what you share with us. It is oddly relaxing to take in a race on this channel. 2024 is going to be a great experience, really looking forward to whats coming. Thanks for everything you do Dave! Happy New Year!
Its nice to have a series to drive these cars around, they are fun and its nice to have not only "new" cars series and keep old cars running 👏 And happy new year Sir, thank you for the content !
Thank you Dave for another year of excellent sim racing content and sharing your life and hobby with the rest of us sim racing junkies. Have a happy and prosperous new year Dave!! :-)
Well done Dave that's a nice end to the year. Thanks for all the content throughout 2023 and looking forward to more in 2024. This years highlight for me was meeting you and Julie and many other lovely sim races at the Sim Expo. Hope we can sink a few more cold ones again in the future.😉 Happy New Year to you and Julie from myself and Margaret. 🎉🎆
I was in this race. Was surprised by the amount of content creators and also Job being a real-life driver in the same race 😂 Edit: that was my second-ever time getting over 3k iRating, so I was really happy about it, having a blast in the HPD right now
That was me, Not Australian, a New Zealander which unfortunately means more latency. You had bounced from the server before I could message you a sorry for it
Not the easiest car to drive. Between this and ACC, do you leave your brake calibrated the same for muscle memory? They're so different, it's tough to switch. This is a GREAT series but unfortunately it's dead for me in North America. Basically it's either MX5 Cup or GT86. Really gets old. I'd love a series with all the 2000s/2010s GT cars. Even 90s GT1 would be a blast.
@@davecamyt Thank you. Would you say you keep it relatively stiff, to avoid lock ups, and then just suffer through ACC by standing on the brake to keep it maxed out through heavy brake zones? Hope that makes sense, it's been a thorn and my muscle memory has really suffered because I adjust the brake per game.
@@davecamyt Thank you. I was hoping for a magic bullet of an answer.😂 IMO the problem is ACC's unrealistic braking with their complete lack of a need to Threshold brake. Gentleman driver or not, they are not intentionally activating ABS in modern GT cars. They are threshold braking with ABS as a safety net. ACC misses this, one of the most fundamental parts of road racing. It's frustrating.
1395 Views, 128 Likes.... whats wrong with people. Thanks Dave for another very entertaining year of letting us participate in your career and you as a person.
Series looks fun, makes me wish I wasn't too broke for iRacing, but I guess I can just live vicariously through Dave... Just stick with the Corvette so I can pretend better. I always kinda roll my eyes when I see double the amount of LMPs as GTs because I'm so used to watching the IMSA stuff where the protos are reckless but it does seem this series (and Kamel GT) attract a bit more gentlemanly racing, I guess because the hyper aggressive sweats are all in LMDh or whatever.
Hey Dave, Happy New Year 🎉. Could you do something where you share your FFB settings and what you like for mapping buttons on your wheels? Cheers sir love your content
I must admit.. its quite rare to come across a nice sim racer.... I found, especially the LFM community, to be extremely toxic. When first joining LFM and asking for advice, I got greeted with rude comments and toxicity towards me... Literally with replies along the lines of "i wouldnt bother with LFM, Most of us are good, You will never stand a chance, This isnt the place for you"..... But nice drive Dave.... Happy New Year.... Looking forward to seeing what 2024 brings.... Looking forward to seeing you're content too :) PS: the Q below you're FPS, is Quality... Related to packet loss.
hi Dave , happy New year :) , Im Just getting back into Sim racing after a break , im thinking on getting a new rig the p1X pro from sim labs , do you have an affiliate link for the PRO as the one for the p1x in your description doesnt work for me.,
More people should think which tracks are good to race at, rather than just hotlap. Tracks like Spa, Silverstone, Hockenheim, Monza, Nürburgring are popular because you can go two wide at so many spots depending on the car. Monza is bland to hotlap, but you barely have time to breath during a race, almost every turn is a passing spot. For example, while I love Suzuka, it’s not on the same level for racing, same with Watkins and Atlanta.
Sometime Dave, you are your own worse enemy, and curse yourself with " I want a incident free race and win " you know full well that you have just jinxed your race lol
I will never understand what the hell is wrong with iRacing lap times at Spa being way too fast. The real life GT1 record is a 2:15.423 in a C6R Corvette, don't you know. I would expect the sim to be 1.5-2 seconds faster, but 5.5 seconds is a complete pisstake.
Can we all just say a massive thank you to Dave for a great and content filled 2023 and hopefully see you on track in 2024 ( if I’m good enough 😂).
Dave says he'd like a race without an incident point. I'd like a single lap without an incident point. 😂
😂 struggle is real
Spa is killing me 11x is a good race 😂
Wait until F4 goes to Spa in a couple of weeks. If I have an A license after that it'd be a victory.
Thanks for the shout Dave. Glad you like em mate. They look great👌
Thanks for all the content this year and all the best for 2024 mate. 🍻🤝🐐
Thanks Duncan. Same to you mate 🍻

Happy new year fellow Kiwis ❤🎉🎉🎉
Great race Dave I started in p3 got huge net code turn 1 from Australian ping which damaged car and was game over from then 😅 your pace was crazy 🔥

What setup are you using? Looks incredibly planted. Great race, happy new year!
Grabbed it from the Proto GT discord 👍
Happy new year dave thank you for another great year of content regards Graham
Happy new year from New Zealand
enjoying the proto series, found I can gain some nice IR in this series
happy new year dave!
Happiest of New Year’s to you Dave! That is an incredible time! What was your setup?

You should edit in a few clips in from the qualifying laps good or bad.
Hey Dave, Happy New Year 🎉. Could you do something where you share your FFB settings and what you like for mapping buttons on your wheels? Cheers sir love your content
Spa is possibly the best track ever made. Suzuka a close second.
I was on a training server with you lately, you where faster in thus car than me in the HPD I think *sniff*

was an hpd in this sadly binned it from p8 in blanchimont, scary corner in the hpds
10:35 great sportsmanship! He even flashed his lights.
Great one Dave! Happy new year! How the fudge do you race that car without using clutch??
Auto blip is your friend 👍

Nice race. Just curious what you have your FOV set at. Looks really good
I'm sure it's at 175 👍
Could you show the track map in future videos?
Massive frame rate 230-240! Wish I could get half that
Mate can I ask a silly question, what’s the width foot print of ur triple 27s. I’m considering but have a small room. Happy new year too (soonish).
I think it's around 150cm edge to edge
Bet those HPD drivers shop at Marks & Spencers!

Not a fan of the rainbow thing that reacts with your mic, bit distracting
That's ok 👍
lol ollie nice
it's probably just me but I find the voice graph at the bottom of the screen is distracting
It was just a test 😁
Idk why you never show the qualifying
It's pretty boring imo
@@davecamyt idk, I don’t think so… sometimes the qualifying can be more exciting than the race like f1 lol

Joking 😁
@@davecamytSend the lap footage to Corvette. Maybe it'll land you a seat in one of their GT3s at Le Mans.
I will 🤣
1st 😂
I honestly don't hear any difference, sorry. I might be deaf though.
Unpopular Opinion: the Corvette GT1 and Merc GT3 don't sound good. And I've owned 3 Mustangs in my life.
Give me an RSR over them any day of the week.
The Better sounds better than my Mustang 🫤
Oooooh a Vette race! And it's at Spa! Yes please!
happy new year dave !
