I will just put this out there. I am not a mechanic or anything close to it. This is just my experience and it’s been almost a year since I did it and everything is still functioning properly. I realize I’ve probable done things differently than I was suppose to😂
I have the same kit, you're supposed to put the Allen head studs through the bottom of the spacer hints the deep well holes, thats your new mounting studs, use the original nuts to fasten down the spacer to the strut and use the new nuts to fasten the new studs on the frame mount.
I had put the 2.5 kit on my 2012 f150 ,every time I hit a pot hole the upper control arm hit the coil spring and the truck rode terrible. I removed them and installed Bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks. The truck now rides great. If you can afford it go with the bilsteins, you won’t be disappointed. I have 35/12.5/18 and trimmed a little plastic so they would fit.🇵🇱🇺🇸
For the tie rod, if you hit the cast iron spindle where the tie rod is installed you will break the taper and it will come 100% easier. And you dont have to worry about damaging the 10mm hex on the edge of the stud of the ball joint of the outer tie rod. just a fyi...
nice I've got the same kit. I haven't gotten around to installing yet. how'd it affect driveability ? was there any difference ? Cheers dude. nice truck.
I put a level kit on my 2014 F150 ecoboost 4x4 and the next day it started to make a metal clanking noise like i was dragging cans. Sounds like a rock scraping against the heat sheild but they couldnt find anything wrong with the truck. Obviously the level kit did something to my truck. The only way to get the noise to stop is to put it in 4 Lo, drive a bit and then put it in 2wd. But it keeps happening, any suggestions?
Sebastian Sebastian I have no idea, I’m not an experienced mechanic for sure as you can probably tell from the video. It sounds like a cv shaft issue, maybe something happened when the hub was dropped down to put the spacer in. But like I said take that for what it’s worth I’m no expert.
I had the same issue with mine I found I had broken the 4x4 hose that was making my truck kick in on 4 whew drive I got it fixed right away I didn’t want to damage the engagements
I hope you don't pay attention to these guys giving you a hard time. I am in the same boat. I am watching this because I am about to install a leveling kit for the first time. I appreciate you posting what you have for my benefit. Thanks, I picked up some useful information...thumbs up.
Kevin Lambert I’m doing the same, did you ever get yours installed? Never done anything with suspension components before but figured I could save some money and do it myself.
im always amazed how people give instructional video and have no idea what they are doing .

I've experienced the same thing when I turn the wheels all the way and go over a bigger bump. That's great info thanks for sharing!
Use penetrating oil . Hammer on the side of the spindle knuckle instead of the tie rod when taking out the tie rod . Same with the upper ball joint .
P4OE thanks for the pointer!!

Jeff Rocha that’s actually really good to know thank you!
great video there are lot of videos showin the same but you say something extremely important
You mention rotating the strut 180 deg. But you didnt't show how... Can you post or explain? Thanks
Bman H pull the bolt that attaches to the a arm and make the front of the strut face the back.

Brett Bernier thanks!! it still drives great, maybe slightly rougher but that's to be expected.
Matt Pro what do you mean by rougher ?
Sorry due you didn't read the direction!
Nice video, pretty good explanation, thanks!!
What size tires did you have on there?
Peter Walker they are just the stock size 275 65r 18

WHAT IS THE BRAND OF LEVELING KIT???
Bman H watch the video again
If you want to make a help video USE SOME LIGHT.
That's a great idea:) thanks!
you say that the spacer have 1.5 inches real measure i did get the same ones they say 2.5 and when i measure they had 1 .5 i say like whaaaaat
Yeah not alot of places tell you that the spacer is actually less but it still lifts it to the full amount advertised. thanks for the comment!
Guys i made this video tbh. lol jk
It is very clear that you have no experience being a mechanic. All those tools look like they've never been used too.
Joseph Foster Take care of what you have, wipe the tools down when your done. I don't claim to be a mechanic but I can do the basics
Matt Pro boom!! Exactly!!!!! Just like me, take care of my shit, instead paying a dick head to do a guess. My truck my rules my tools...
