She totally deserves the recognition. Like Michael Chang, she did something in the professional tennis world as a teenager that has never been done before.
Tennis is NOT an easy sport at the pro level. Every player she plays is now going to up their game against her.
Best thing she can do from today on is to put her Grand Slam win behind her and to focus on how she can do well against her next opponent.
A winner stays focused on the present task at hand and learns form each experience.

Michael Chang is not a good comparison. He won 1 Grand Slam. Hope Emma wins more than that.

@@jkjxx68 My intent was to highlight the fact that Michael Chang made tennis history by being the youngest player to ever win a Grand Slam tournament while Emma's claim to fame is that she is the only qualifier in history to ever win a Grand Slam tournament. Even though a very small percentage of tennis players ever win even one Grand slam tournament in their career, my desire is also to see Emma win many more.

Now you need to go and win titles, because getting NY Honours does not a Grand Slam conquer.

I really hope she isn’t a one hit wonder. The wokeness is strong.

Thought you're supposed to have a personality to win the award.
It needs to be scrapped, just looking at past winners proves the award is not for personalities, but who some pompous BBC exec wants.
    Total joke of an award
