This really shows one of the things I love about G. The fact that he hadn't planned a victory speech, because he is so modest and also isn't aware of how big and popular he is.
@Victory of the people then why are you paying attention to SPOTY if you don't follow sport enough to have heard of the nominees, particularly when this one had a homecoming parade in Cardiff, and jus made headlines.

BornPedalling Yeah but although I don’t watch football for example, I can understand it’s entertainment factor. You can dribble a ball, head the ball, pass it round, penalties, fouls, it all adds a certain complexity to the sport. But with cycling? Nothing.
@@mattg8600 Nothing with cycling apart from riders attacking to get into a break away, teams chasing to catch them, attacking on climbs to win mountain points, sprinting for sprint points, punctures and having to chase back to the group, the weather conditions can add to the race with crosswinds breaking the race up totally with echelons forming, the lead out trains in the final kilometres of a race trying to get to the front to lead out their sprinters, and the crashes where riders can get real injuries but don't feel the need to roll around the ground and instead get back on and finish. I guess it's all to do with what you know about a sport rather than having no idea about something and making incorrect assumptions.
