    We moved into our new build a few months before you did and there was and still is so much negativity around them. We absolutely love our house, it’s warm, dry and safe and has a 10 year warranty - what’s not to like. It’s so frustrating that people spread negativity towards them, most of them have never bought one. We also had snags but they were all sorted so quickly so no complaints there. Here’s to many more years in our new homes!

      me it's the built quality eg walls all being stud walls, I prefer solid ones and using plastic piping to cut costs.

    We moved into our new build in July 2022. Absolutely love our house we actually downsized, had a lot of snags but to be honest they have sorted most, apart from our loft so much condensation causing mould. But other than that it’s fabulous. 💕💕💕

    Great you guys are happy with your purchase. I think it's the same as with anything it's what you make of it that makes the difference. You've put a lot of time and effort into it and you deserve to be happy there. Well done and keep up the good work. Can't wait to see what you guys get upto next.

    Loved your video as always. I started watching your videos as we were about to buy a new build. We moved may last year and absolutely love it. Our house suprisingly has quite a bit of storage which is good. I love seeing what you have done with your house and get loads of ideas for ours. Thanks guys 😊

    Useful video! I'm about to complete on my first new build soon. What were your biggest/worst snags?

    • @BethanandJoe
      @BethanandJoe  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      How exciting!! Our worst was the hob / kitchen worktop, we had the whole thing replaced - we also had an unworking oven which was replaced with a better version & a very wonky sink 😂 you just have to be honest and let them know you’re not happy with the end product xx

    The thing with buying a new build is it is a 50/50 gamble on what you get and fortunately for me when I bought one 3 year ago it was the 50 side you want.
    With the tools and materials they have today the only reasons for a house not to be built correctly is through bad workmanship , bad management or a combination of both and if you have bought a badly built house with lots of snags it is down to those reasons nothing else.
    In my own case (I dont include the externals as while some of it was OK and nothing more parts of it were appalling and a serious safety hazard) the snags were minor and minimal , insulation was how and where it should be, kitchen well fitted and of a high quality as was the bathroom and en suites with good quality sanitaryware.
    We also have had no leaks at all nor electrical problems and as I worked in the construction industry as a heating engineer on the industrial sector I have got some knowledge and personally I would only ever buy new builds but I do fully understand why many people would not

    We are looking at relocating this year and have visited a new development which we really liked. Having researched a bit further am now conscious that access to amenities isn’t as good as it would be if we bought an existing house. The dilemma we have, is does that issue outweigh the benefits of a new house with everything new, better insulation and a guarantee?

    • @BethanandJoe
      @BethanandJoe  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's an interesting point! We did mention that on another of our videos that new build developments are usually built on the edges of towns. So as you say, they are a little bit further from the town centre. We have the same situation and sometimes we do feel like we have to jump in the car to get a nice meal etc but have gotten used to that and I definitely think the benefits of a new build outweigh the benefits of being centrally located!

    • @nicholat5319
      @nicholat5319 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah that's a good question. You need to ask yourself how often would you need the amenities and could you plan them in on route to/ from somewhere. Would you enjoy walking to them? You would save fuel and be more green. Try and imagine yourself in each location.

    We are in the process of buying a Linden home. Construction just started.
    How long did your one take from start to finish?
    Was the completion on time or was there any delays?

    • @BethanandJoe
      @BethanandJoe  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi! That's a good question! We were quite early in the process too on our phase, we too bought before the house was built but it was about 5 months from us reserving the plot to us completing. They seemed to be quite vague about the completion date so that it didn't seem delayed (if it was at all) we just kept in contact with them, just so we knew what the progress was like.
      Hope that helps!

      @eggplant1849 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BethanandJoe 5 months isn't bad at all. They gave us 3 months window at the moment which is Aug/Sep/Oct.
      Many thanks for the reply 👍
