This particular castle has been sold to a new owner who is, currently, renovating the premises.
If you, by any chance, know the location of this castle do not attempt entering it because this is punishable under French law with a fine of up to €15.000 and/or one year of imprisonment.
This castle is NOT abandoned anymore!

On the grassy plains of an embattled French meadow that endured much political strife, sits a majestic castle with a harrowing history of its own.
Originally intended to be an important fortified castle, the construction of this dignified landmark was finished in the early 16th century.
Exactly one year ago, after the castle had been fading into oblivion for decades a priori, we visited this phenomenal place and could not believe our eyes. As centuries passed, the property was inhabited by the military nobility and several lieutenants who played a predominant role during the French Revolution. The personal legacy of generation upon generation is now left behind only to be devoured by nature as vegetation creeps through windows and doors/
Today we take you on an intriguing adventure back in time, as we visit this castle and take you on a journey through priceless historical mementos and invaluable antique furniture. One can rightly ask how such places even exist, and how one could ever leave such abundant history behind for the fate of the elements.
Today we are opening and sharing a discarded hidden treasure that has remained closed for years with each and every one of you.
Fortunately, the future of the building looks bright. The castle was recently bought and is currently being replenished back to its former glory. But before that happens, we're taking you on one last look behind its spellbound walls.

The buttons on the wall that appeared to be electrical connections were actually the servants bells. The rooms were marked so the servants could tell where the bell call was coming from. It appears there were belongings ranging across many decades. Beautiful!

Wow! What a fabulous place...I know y'all tried to get in there before...right?
The room off that dining room is a butler pantry so they had direct out of sight access to the guests. The " food elevator" is a dumb waiter that would deliver food from the kitchen below ( most likely behind that looked door in the basement). It also was used to send the breakfast trays upstairs. The other room that was made into a kitchen was probably used as prep to plate up the food.
There would not have been any kind of livery or blacksmith inside the house...that would have been located in an outbuilding near the stables.
Those electronics were quite fascinating and the oldest bell calling system I have ever seen. All important rooms ( even bedrooms) had a bell pull or button to alert servants they were needed.
Those stamps were called wax seals ...they were used to seal letters and correspondents ...and to identify the sender.
That little room in the first bedroom is called a modesty room. The wife would change into her night clothes there and then slip into bed so her husband could not witness her naked! Imagine...lol.
    Our traditions have changed alot.
The "sink" in the hallway on the servants level was just a water spigot. This was a water source for the entire floor. The servants could fill their jug, take to their room to fill their wash basin on their vanity.
I know you had to have explored the attic and out buildings...can we please, please see it!!
    Great job y'all!

Back in those days, they had groomers to take care of the horses, and they would live either in the barn, or small building to keep an eye on the tack/ bridles, saddles, etc. I Love looking through old buildings, and looking through books about castles, so Thank you for having created videos of this nature to share curiosities such as this🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

The room that you entered with all the "carpet/tapasteries", are actually hand woven tapestries. Each thread was made by hand, mostly by women. They are midevil images depecticed on fine woven fabrics. Fabrics, mostly, made from either, camel, sheep, llama, or other wolly animals, depending upon where they where purchased or contracted from. They were certainly a sign of wealth and nobility.
The purpose of such extravagance, was to help warming the rooms. (It was the most "qenius and effective, "state of the art invention," thing of that time. )
It had dual purposes, another to help with humidity in each room as natural stone holds water.
It was the "WALLPAPER" of the times.

Heyy my dear friends from fabulous team Explomo, What a breathtakingly beautifully formulated introduction! - Beautiful English,
lovely background music! - I loved listening to your poetical introduction. - Wonderful first drone shots of this miraculous
fairy tale like castle. - Absolutely amazing!
You were so fortunate and lucky to be able to explore this wonderful location, before it was purchased and closed again
    for renovations.
Wonderful rooms with enormous tapestries and still very historical looking furniture in the baroque style. In the grand
dining room the furniture could be from the late 19th century in the so called historism style. Also the smaller antique items
standing on the furniture are probably quite valuable and rare, as I think. - Surprisingly small kitchen for such a big place!
Of course I liked the big room with the grand piano from Pleyel the most with these interesting and very remarkable details, like that
old pram and the beautiful paintings on the walls, as well as the wonderful chandelier on the ceiling. Wonderful cabinets with so many
precious items were visible as well! - Simply amazing and lovely to see! - Wow, - and this oval shaped library, incredible to see!
What an absolutely fascinating historical castle! - I loved watching, and I am already looking forward to your next explore adventure.
Wishing you, dear Maureno, a lot of fun and still much more unforgettable moments during your grand trip together with Lesley,
and as I found out, also with Danny, who joined you in Canada. How great is that! - God bless you all, my friends!
Take care, peace and many hugs as well as kindest regards.

Breathtaking Maureno and Remon! You surpass yourselves at each video. I say it each video but you guys never cease to amaze me with how much good quality explores you bring us.
This is a diamond. Such a military history in gorgeous France (where I personally think they have the best chateaus). The tapestries and that dining room were just a dream. I couldn’t think of a grander but more tasteful mansion. I’m so glad to see that somebody is making it a home again and I do hope and wish they keep it true to its heritage.
I’m going to settle down with a nice coffee and expensive chocolates to truly do this video justice. Just perfect! 😊❤️✌️👍

Absolutely amazing! I was surprised to see toilets inside a palace built in the 1700s. I did some research and found out that France had indoor flushing toilets as early as 1519, and public toilets came out in the early 1700s. What an amazing place to discover and to walk through. So much history. I wondered how many babies were pushed in that prim. Did look up and found out you can still buy prim's today, similar to the one in this Palace, at a cost of over $4,000.

I've watched many of their videos, and I cannot believe that people just leave behind such valuable antique pieces to just go to ruin. There are so many extremely valuable pieces in this castle. I'm glad someone bought it to restore, hopefully they restore the furniture and paintings too.

I’m so glad this is being restored. The tapestries in the rooms at the beginning, henryVIII in England had several of these made in France. They look eeerily similar. They cost over a thousand pounds back in mediaeval times so they’ll be priceless now, each one. Henry VIII’s tapestries hang in Hampton court palace in London. They’re stunning, silk and gold and silver thread, took hundreds of hours to make 1……beautiful.

Enjoyed that more than I can say. Thank you so much for taking the time to show so much detail. Very happy someone purchased this property. I hope after they fix it up you could revisit it on a tour with the new owner, because I can't wait to see the half of the house that was locked up and the possible chapel. Stay safe and God bless you.

Fabulous place. I think the kitchen was originally in the basement, they usually are in these old castles. The electric panel is probably a bell system for the nobility to call a servant. They were usually in the kitchen. The elevator or dumbwaiter would start in the kitchen where they would put the cood on it and it would go up to the butlers pantry where the servers would deliver it to the dining room. Quite the process. Nowadays the kitchens have been moved up to the first floor to be more efficient. 🇨🇦

The "prison" bars in the basement was possibly for airflow and to keep people out of an area they didn't want the servants getting into. Like not stealing wine, cheeses, food. Just a thought.

This castle is beautiful and I am happy to hear that it has been sold and will be restored!. Bros of Decay also toured this castle and they were able to get into the other side of the upstairs and it was amazing. Thank you so much for touring these lovely places for us to see. I moved to Canada in 1988 I was 10 years old, I was born in Germany my mother is German and my Father is a very proud French man. I see now why he loves his country so much and I now see where I get my great decorating style from.

Thank you for closing windows. In the many years that I have watched these chateau abandoned shows you are the first person that knows the importance of keeping out the sunlight from these antiques. I am glad these chateaus have a low retail value because it makes them have people that want to purchase them . If they dont buy them then the castles roof falls in and water destroys the house. That electrical system is a messaging system for their servants and those jars were battery backups for their system. Thanks again from USA!

Castle walls are cold and drafty, that's why they hung tapestries on the walls for warmth, the tapestries absorbed heat better than stone walls, and kept the cold from stone walls back from entering into the room, tapestries were usually hand woven on looms by craftsman, its quickly becoming a lost trade now as they are generally no longer needed for walls.
