Wonderful lesson (and it sounds equally haunting)! Fleet Foxes are an acquired taste: as ethereal as The Innocence Mission, yet earthy. I found your instructions very accessible. I could never have reconstructed (deconstructed?) this song on my own. In terms of Pecknold's genius, I read an article (I believe in Acoustic Guitar) that recounted the countless hours involved, given the band's perfectionism.

I watched this video 4 years ago. Learned how to play up until “dear shadow alive” I mastered that part and know I’m back to learn the rest except it won’t take me 4years master the rest because I’ve gotten better 😊

I know, I had a hell of a time learning to sing those lines. He's one of those guys that is so talented that it shakes your nerves, and makes you doubt yourself. Great lesson as always... I was wondering if you could teach us some of the blind willie johnson classics with the bottleneck slide, like "you´re gonna need somebody on your bond"... I made the slide from your video, but then I noticed that I actually suck at playing with it haha. what software do you edit your audio with? I can not find a decent reverb effect and this one sounds incredible. or do you run a mic through a pedal or amp with built in reverb and record from the amp itself with a second mic?
just search for the new voice you were given. everyone has a singing voice. you found yours before puberty, but it was taken to give you a new one. find your new one. it won't be the same, but it will be yours.
