Syria was one of the countries I visited at the beginning of my TH-cam journey. When I posted my trip precisely two years ago, I had less than 10 thousand subscribers. I am resharing these videos for a wider audience now and sharing my experiences from Syria with my guide. Syria is a country that cannot be visited solo, and you have to have a guide assigned by the government for security reasons, but also, your trip details get reported to the government at the end of your trip by your travel agency. That is why I had a companion most of the time in Syria. Twelve years ago, a peaceful uprising against the Syrian president escalated into a full-scale civil war. The conflict has caused the death of over half a million people, destroyed cities, and involved other countries. The war has resulted in immense suffering for the Syrian population, with over half of the pre-war population of 22 million being forced to flee their homes. More than 6.8 million Syrians are internally displaced, with over two million living in tented camps and having limited access to basic services. An additional 6 million Syrians are refugees or asylum-seekers abroad, and countries like Lebanon, Jordan, and Turkey, which are hosting 5.3 million of them, have struggled to cope with one of the largest refugee exoduses in recent history. As of the beginning of 2023, the UN reported that 15.3 million people in Syria required humanitarian assistance, which is an all-time high since the war began. Furthermore, 12 million Syrians did not know where their next meal was coming from. Although the government has regained control of Syria's biggest cities, rebels, jihadists, and the Kurdish-led SDF still hold large parts of the country, and there have been no changes in the front lines for three years. Awesome videos bro. How does one go about finding a tour guide and agency? What is the name of the one you used? I like your tour guide she is very knowledgeable and the places she takes you are really cool. Do you film with a Go-pro? Thanks for the videos I am enjoying your travels feels like I am right there at the same time.
I am from Afghanistan, and I fell in love with Syria after watching this video. What a wonderful country and amazing people! After the recent events and the fall of Assad, I think about what events the city of Damascus has witnessed, what empires have come and gone, and what kings have risen and fallen. I wish peace for Syria and its people.
I worked in this shop long time ago 55 years ago with the father the best family you ever known they are super generous They been in business for over 150 years not 20 years And they are well known in Damascus
What I like about your videos is that they are super simple, no editing or annoying background music which is showing the actual reality, you can watch them for hours.
We want you to go to a place called Sayyida Zeinab to photograph for us the sex hotels that Iran has opened, and there are Iranian prostitutes. So that they do not laugh at you, put the maps and go there. We also want you to go to a city called Suwayda in order to photograph the demonstrations that are taking place to bring down drug leader Bashar al-Assad. Do not go to places. There is nothing there. Go to the city of Idlib to photograph the suffering of women and children. Did you not find Iranian and Russian militias? There is an Iraqi, Russian and Iranian mafia there. Be careful not to let anything happen to you.
I'm French and I recently discovered your channel, it's great what you do. I'll subscribe and send you a blue thumbs up. Special mention to the lovely Mary ❤.
Fantastic videos you are making Davud, great insight into other cultures (Scotsman in Texas enjoying watching an Azeri exploring Syria lol) Mary is too cute great guide👍

As a Syrian expatriate, I eagerly watch many blogger videos when they visit my country, Syria, but really I want to say that you are the best. You took us through complete details of the motherland. Thank you and welcome again. My regards to you.
I have noticed with people abroad the poorer the nation the more friendly & hospitable they are. What is seen on the news is only a small percentage of what else is going on. People just want to get on with their lives.
I agree! They are so considerate ,humble, generous, hospitable, and so clean taking their shoes off! The American media is portraying them as terrorists. I would love to go there!!! God bless The Syrians people!
I liked the visit to the Omayyad mosque. It was really interesting to see true facts of that historic era. I wish I could go to Syria one time and make sure I visit the Omayyad mosque. I also liked the food you enjoyed eating. It was mouth watering just from looking at it. You got lucky with a tour guide like Marie. She was really sweet and cute in doing the translation. Best of luck on your next video!
