Shea Lacey looks like he is the best young winger since Giggs, with the potential to be better, watching him, at times, is like watching a Spanish player
giggs was just as good in both boxes though , giggs was a wing back inside forward second striker left mid .... left back box to box inverted forward inside half deep lying playmaker....
@@wiretom Ryan Giggs was most definitely NOT a wing back, if ever he did help out at the back, it was just fortunate
How did you not mention Ethan Williams when the kid tearing up the u18s, go watch him against Liverpool, go watch him against arsenal of recent. The kid is a flippin baller, he deserves an honourable mention.
Even the recent game against Arsenal too
The teletubbies doesnt know anything beyond the obvious. Dont come here expect quality research 😂 this isnt what the channel does
Totally agree, I see Giggs vibes in Williams and to me both Williams and Amass will be the next players to get first team chances
Wow...yet you still tune in🤔@@steve13191
Munro was missing too
We've been saying for a long time as United supporters, "We're looking forward to the future", but this really does look like it could be a youth revolution. Exciting times.
It’s the new class of 92 and hopefully they can do the same sort of thing the class of 92 did
The youth team is everything United would require for the future. We can buy and sell a number of players, they dont always play for the badge, but the youth one will fight to prove themselves. Plus, given our financial position, we can loan/sell players and get our money back. They truly have so much potential for the future.
if there was a time for us to need a strong batch of academy players on hand - its definitely now.
Not true! Pogba,Lingard,Sancho etc all academy players and have stunk the place out last ten years but the new ones coming through look better as long as we don't give them crazy contracts!
@@dondamon4669 the last sentence is the key part.
We could have Messi coming through carrington but he would have flopped under the Glazer/Woodward regime.
This is different under Omar/INEOS, actual football men who actually care about the club.
@@dondamon4669Sancho?
@dondamon4669 sancho? Yes he famously played for our academy....
Oh wait it was the other side of manchester 😂
After Charlie McNeill scoring 9 million goals underage I don’t bother with these youngsters until they pull off a maino or nacho performance in the 1st team
Heart broken too many times over the years
for people outside of Manchester and England, they appreciate this type of information on the youth.... we can't get this information outside... at most we can see clips or stats but to gauge players with that information aint enough... so highly appreciate this type of content.
Amass is who’s caught my eye. Looks an accomplished and relaxed fullback. Never flustered or rushed.
Not seen his pace teated properly yet, but in terms of composure and poise, pass and touch, he is a mini Shaw. Very impressed
Who do you think is better:
Sam Murray or Habeeb Ogunneye at right back
Dunkirk harry amass defender he a super star 🌟
I think there are a fair few of the seniors you left out who have been more central to the perfect season so far in the league. Mainly, you have Wheatley, Musa, Williams, Macallister, and Biancheri. Both the Scottish centrebacks should get a mention too. Ibragimov and Lacey are clearly talented but we have not seen much of them in the league this season. They would play a larger role in the u-18s campaign next year.
Wheatley and Musa aren't that good
I would def bring Lacey, Fletcher, Amas and Ethan Williams into the team for the next pre season
You'd bring in 15 year olds? 😂😂😂 Some of you fans.
@@kofiboakye6173 they'll be 17 in a couple of months mate
Maybe not Lacey for this coming one but next one
Adam Berry and Kirly/Curly too, however his name is spelt
Finn McAllister for me, just looks united through and through and a real warrior in the middle of the pitch
Finley
@@jamesburns7021Andrew Cole
I do think Harry amass will be the next big youth player coming through
Great video! Love the youth review ones. You definitely missed Ethan Williams. Two footed like Greenwood was.
I'm very careful since nothing came from the group of Gomes, Chong, Greenwood, Garner, Williams, Laird. I was really positive about that group too.
Greenwood would be better than any of our wingers today though. Gomes and Garner are playing well for teams like Everton and Lille.
@@trimind10 Probably. Or he would be our CF. But point is, whatever the circumstances, none of those players plays for United any more, at 21/22.
Greenwood is a top player - ridiculous to say he hasn’t made it
Centre forward Wheatley is impressive. Certainly has an eye for goal
I’ve seen him in a few games. I don’t think he will make it, needs 6 to score 1.
@@thebizness5596more like 30 to score 1
precisely, he is dead food 😂@@redtimez4520
@@thebizness5596 I agree, especially against Liverpool & arsenal. He’ll be sold to a championship or league 1 side soon.
You put Harry Amass' picture up but failed to mention him - Dude is a quality LB - needs to tape his socks up!!!!
he did mention him. did you even watch the video?
Talks about him @ 11:34
I love it . Passion, Humility and Faith above all.
What an exciting video. We have the best of the best starting from the foundation, we will eventually get there with the first team.
Much respect to the Academy Director’s. Keep up the great work.
Love the content on the academy
Hi Stephen thank you for the video, really appreciated
Love these vids 🙌
as i saw you posted this i started the video and hear well nice to have some happiness for a change and no joke my phone just pinged and MArtinez id out again for a while. Brilliant HAHA :(
My goodness such positive vibes are fab
Love this. Please do more academy content.
I’ve really liked the look of Zach bauman when he’s played great feet direct , fair bit pace and also Ethan Wheatley , musa and biancheri don’t look bad either
the whole under 18 team looks something else - they are absolutely smashing the league joint top scorers (42) with spurs under 18 who are in the southern league conceding only 10 goals so far, and uniteds top goal scorer is Victor Musa placed 31st in top scorers with 5 goals in 11 games
I’ve been watching u 18 games. I watched all their games this season. Apart from Amir cause he played only 1 game this season for u 18 because he has been injured for a long period and shae cause his been out 3 months now but before he was balling. But trust me some of these players on this list has a better chance to make it into first team especially Harry amass, he is mr consistent 7/10 every game. The other player you forgot is Finley macalister their captain. He has heart and the work rate and he a very good long shot and long passes, even if he doesn’t make it to united first team he will play in Premier League because his heart and desire the work rate of macalister is top notch. But others technically are very good all they need to work on is physically which I think you need to make it into first team but we have a lot of ballers coming through from our academy.
Thanks for this youth review Steve. I love to watch Shea Lacey I hope he will return from injury soon. If he just has one player marking him he beats them effortlessly. I agree he is too small and too slight but to be given a first team chance at present but size has not been a disadvantage to Messi, so if injuries don’t hold him back I believe he will be challenging for the first team in two years.
What bodes well for us is the fact there is so many of them. I'm certain not all of them will continue to develop and won't ever even get a chance in the first team. But since there's so many of them you feel at least a few of them will end up making it.
Love seeing the youth coming through. Not all will make it but we need to carefully select the best out of the lot.
With the young reds cooking, soon we won't remember we had a player called Sancho. I hope Rashford takes note and teach himself to be consistent. Men are coming for your bread.
Our youth looks good I'm excited
Glad to see Harrison on here. Keepers often get over looked but he looks the part, very good in pretty much all areas.
Shea Lacey is very very special could be a all time great of football.
Both forwards are promising Wheatley and Williams. It’s a hell of a team Fitzgerald, Scanlon ands the two CBs Jackson and Kingdom are amazing too. Ashton Missin is a top little player too. They are all going to have great careers somewhere.
Hope the management bring the youngsters through, when will that day come again when 90%of the team will be them playing
Imagine a new Giggs, Scholes, Beckham,Phil and Gary Neville,Nicky Butt, Gillespie,Thornley, Casper and a few others who made it but coz of injuries didn't make it top top. Just imagine a new Giggs! If played for England would be classed as Englands greatest player coz we would of won tournaments with Giggs, Scholes,Ince/Gazza/Gerrard/Lampard, Beckham in the middle
The amount of insane talent we've got coming through our ranks is mind blowing man. This is what & how it should be youth being given a fair crack afterall we did it with the Busby Babes same with The Class of 92 now we've got a next generation of stars ready to get an oppertunity. Mainoo, Garnacho, Amad, Hojlund, Kambwala are all part of the 1st team squad consistently now. Gore should be included in the 1st team permanently next season aswell then we have the likes of Amaas, Lacey, Harrison, Ibragimov, Jack & Tyler Fletcher, Fitzgerald, Hugill, McNeil, Wheatley, Ethan Williams, Musa, Biancheri, Macallister etc etc. The future is so exciting
McNeil has left the club.
Enjoyed your company this evening.
Can we get Dave Pritt back on this channel or Paddock soon.
Who is the coach for the under 18's? He's doing a fantastic job.
He came from Swindon
@@foundermodel Swindon Town football club or just Swindon? It helps to narrow it down.
As a United supporter living in the States, these videos are invaluable to me
Plan for the summer:
Sell:
- McTom (£25m)
- Maguire (£25m)
- Greenwood (£30m)
- AWB (£20m)
- Varane (£15m)
- Sancho (£25m)
Buy:
- Todibo (CB, Nice discount)
- established CF (Sesko?)
- Mengi (buy back clause)
Promote:
- Amass (LB)
- Kambwala (CB)
- Forson (CM)
Thats 6 in and 6 out and a huge net positive. Plenty of money left over to splash on further players, even under FFP restrictions.
Nah Forson isn’t good enough. He’s only getting game time so he signs a contract apparently.
@@thebizness5596 in my mind of thinking he would essentially be the 6th choice CM (casemrio, Mainoo, Eriksen, Mount, Bruno) and would only play Conference League games and as emergency cover
We need a midfielder more than a striker especially a cdm and Fortson is winger
@@maggiee6988 agree. I have one eye on Enzo Fernandez you know. Feel like he could be a b-tech FDJ for ETH, and possibly available for £40m if he wants out of Chelsea
Have watched clips of Fletcher but OMG! He’s that good. One to watch out for
Amass, Lacey, Fletcher, Ibragimov are the 4 i think.
Starting XI in the next 5 years
Kovar (brought back)
Amass
Branthwaite
Kambwala
Dalot
Thuram
Mainoo
Wirtz
Garnacho
Hojlund
Lacey
with Ibragimov learning off Rasmus and Fletcher being rotated around the front 4
If we get two out these, we will be lucky
Love to see the youth review making a comeback. At least in part... 🙂
Ethan William's finishing reminds me of Mason Greenwood.
Amass is really impressive.Hopefully he carries on this form.Perfect shaw replacement.Defensive awareness needs working. With age he will get their inshallah.
Lacey is the next superstar i feel.
Amir reminds me of Isak Aaron to some extent.I fear this type of players don't get the recognition at MUFC.
I had so much hope in Levitt,Garner,Galbraith,Gomes,
Savage,Svidersky but look at their time at MUFC.I don't hope much now.
I pick one from each side who i feel will make it at MUFC.
Lacey is the one i feel.
Why's no one talking about Adam Berry as well?
I know he's in the U21 but he's damn good
Amass , Ethan Williams , Finn McAllister have caught my eye 👍🏻
I think we need to bring back matej kovar back he is definitely good then Onana
Every year we list maybe 5 - 6 youth players and very few if any make it to first team. Hopefully this will be different, but I'm not too optimistic.
It’s not every year the U18 side win literally every game they play though. Nor is it every year that somebody not named glazer takes hold of the club and makes the club about football again.
I’m not saying Utd are about to win the treble next season but this is the most optimistic I have been as a Utd fan since SAF days
This time it feels different and special doesn't it. Pogba, lingard and ravel morrison always felt like a false dawn. This doesn't
Their success will depend on what shape the first team is in. Class of ‘92 were coming into a team that was winning.
These seem ideal to help with FFP
Dan gore another top talent coming through
IMO Finley McAllister will go ahead of Fitzgerald. I saw him in some U18 games and he looked very much in control of the midfield, very good vision and he plays very mature. And is the captain of the team. Of course, U18 to senior is a huge step but Mainoo and Garnacho showed how quick it can go if you develop to a certain level. Some players suddenly develop two or three levels and become more mature and better and in few months. Others take longer and others stop at some point and find their level in L1 or L2 or even non league
In general, the dream is to have as many academy players in the first team. This is 100 times better than buying galacticos or going mad on transfers in general. Lets just imagine in 5 years we have a first 11 of 6 or 7 quality academy players playing in the CL reaching last 8 and playing for the PL title. How cool would that be?
Good luck! May your dreams be realised and not shattered by being sold or disappointed by not making the First X1
Ethan Wheatley, Ethan Williams, Victor Musa, all good and major omissions from the list.
Williams is playing really well
Shay lacey is class and can only get better
My pick would be Williams...the guy is above matato lacy and forson ....should be next in line
What a shiner you have there son😂
Based only on the "eye test" and TH-cam clips - Shay Lacey is definitely my top pick.
If he doesn't make it then we may as well all pack up and go home (at least when it comes to predicting future talents).
Ste is 100% right, the first touch stands out a mile. His first touch is like Jack Grealish / Jao Felix.
We have to keep him at United and put him on a path to the first team.
I watched a similar amount of TH-cam clips of Amir. OK - yes good abilty, great family background, good for his age- all positive.
However I didn't really get excited watching him. I didn't see anything particularly special about him yet to be honest.
When it comes to youngtsers I always look at ball control, balance etc.
The injury to Martinez is going to seriously undermine our senior team - just as we're beginning to improve. We're cursed
We keep wasting transfer windows.
Volume on this video is so bad. Need to turn your mic up!
Williams has looked good in the last few games, scored a few
Case in point the invincible
Yeah...I think Jack Fletcher might be thr closest one coming through. I think he's the profile of player we could use the most...as it stands
Shea has been the goat in my FM save.
For me, Amass is the next breakthrough player, successor to Luke Shaw in two years time. Ethan Williams is my next tip as he has the knack of impacting games positively like Giggs did at that age.
do you know why he hasnt been called into the first team squad due to shaw and malacia bejng out? surely he deserves it. he'll be better at LB than amrabat and lindelof fs.
Is the performance of the junior teams down to ETHs influence and coaches?
The Class of 24 not the only thing to catch your eye..
They’re coming through at the right time because by the time INEOS are properly running the club, these boys should be getting promoted or moved on for a good fee. Exciting times.
I'd like to know your opinion on Ashton Missin and Gabriel Bianchiari. They've both looked good when I've managed to catch some of the games this season.
Do you still keep in contact with youth historian Tony Park. I enjoyed your videos with him in the past about the academy
Left back/ right wing!?
Why not left back/ left wing!?
Why can’t wingers go on the outside anymore on their stronger foot at this club!
It’s like an obsession, cutting inside all the time!
Great analysis tho Ste. Nice one fella 🤝
We need to hold onto some of these players and bring back Mason its the Man United way
The vast majority of our best young talents have been taken from other academies. By our recruitment team. That everyone always shits on for not being good enough. We still have a stellar recruitment team, we just have board members and managers that think they know better!
by recruitment team do you mean scouts? I agree if so
All top academy’s are a mix of players from other academies and players who’ve been at the same club all academy career. Fitzgerald , McAllister , Williams , Baumann, missin have been at united since childhood if I recall .
Mantato is a Saka regen
People forget that the u/19 also lost to copenhagen's U/19... im a fan of both clubs. But honestly for a team with UTD's economy they should have been able to win both those matches...
The u/19 league is just not as competetive in my eyes! Which is why they can play like an entire season without losses...
If we sell Trashford+Fridge+M sause we can get around 150-180m.Then only we can make rebuild
rashford is at most 40M
maguire is at most 20M
Greenwood maybe 50-60 M
thats 110 M. still alot tho.
So is the structure at our club actually competent at something? Or has the draw of Manchester United been enough to attract lots of quality youngsters?
0:27 cmon ste you know you want to piss on the drew-a-lot brigade, give in to the darkside
How is the club monitoring these kids to achieve their potential, and get the place in the first MUFC?
Before watching, I expect to see the following players (u18 only) spoken about:
-Elyh Harrison
-Harry Amass
-Jayce Fitzgerald
-Jack Fletcher
-Sam Mather
-Biancheri
-Shea Lacey
-Amir Ibragimov
Ste I'm totally unaware about that you did boxing?
I'm suprised you missed out Ethan Williams
What happened to Howson? Did he piss someone off enough to have been put into his place?
Very few talents truly break through at United, although United probably have more homegrown players in the first team than any other EPL club. I'm only confident that Amir will make it. Lacey has potential, but still has a lot of developing to do.
i hope Elyh Harrison declares for 🇿🇦 because we tired of European countries taking our talent. hope Kobbie declares for Ghana too.
Same guys that bombed out the UEFA Group stage in December lol
WE NEED TO LET THE KIDS PLAY
Do you wrestle? Would be pleasantly surprised if he's good at tackling in the final third.
If 92 are Fergie's Fledglings. Then 2024 are Erik ten Hag's....
I've been impressed with the Goalkeeper and Fletcher.
Evidently someone's caught your eye. Elbow defending a corner?
how did you get the black eye?
Aren't these the same guys that bombed out in a UEFA youth league group at the end of last year?
Think Sam Mather and Ethan Williams are worthy of adding to this list.
As long as Fletcher picks Scotland as his national team 😉
Should have mentioned Williams. 2 footed by all accounts.
I wonder why Carrington doesn’t produce many great CB talents
What happened to that Welsh lad we signed aged 16 - with the Italian surname??
Stooooop it
