      This video is not true imo, Bundesliga alone have Florian Wirtz, Musiala, Xavi Simmons, Dani Olmo. There are many amazing young number 10’s in all top leagues bringing back the position of natural 10. (Arda Guler, Kenan Yildiz, Eberechi Eze, Olise, Charles DK, Odegard, Szoboslai, Gibbs white, Bellingham (for now)) In my opinion the number 10 position has never been so good in many years, it’s through a renaissance.

Repent from your sins and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior in a prayer and also ask for the HOLY SPIRIT to come into you in that same prayer as well and have FAITH in JESUS CHRIST. You could come to Jesus Christ as you are, but once you accept Him, you have to become new, change, and be born again, and also turn away from your wicked ways. I agree with contents of the video but would like to add one point on the emergence of inverted wingers...Numbers 10s back in the day were dribbling gods and not just great in passing and creating chances(Maradona,Baggio,Del Piero,Zidane)....with LMFs,RMFs more like RWBs,LWBs ,the left,right backs due most of flank works and dribbling can be most utilized on the winger position ,hence best dribblers are now wingers....the number 10s now like KDB ,Odegaard are very good at playmaking and somewhat good in dribbling but nowhere near to the levels of the number 10s back in the day hence cannot play centrally alone, and the great number 10s from back in the day would surely be used like Messi on the wings for their dribbling and controlling middle at present.

    I wouldnt say the 10 specifically is dead but its the demands of the 10 that has changed. Where clubs are going for more physical player that can defend and attack. The squads benefits more from having a Pereira who has an awful output attacking wise but can balance the squad than having an ozil who will create 15 quality chances but will get depossessed and be a liabity from inpossession to out of possession transitions.
    Mind you footballers are more skilled than ever before, to the point where center backs and keepers are now creating chances like no mans business. Anyone is creating chances.
    Wingers are the next position to die, as we have more of attacking mid playing as inside fowards.
    At the end of the day, fuck pep because people copy whats successful.
    This is something that will happen to strikers top. It is acceptable for a striker to have less than 15 goals all season so long as the assists are good. More fluid strikers will be in demand. A target man like Ronaldo, zlatan and haaland will be a dying breed as clubs will favour a Hojlund, aguero, villa, benzema and cavani. Someone who can play a variety of striking traits. Can poach, can false, can be a target man etc. Clubs will favour more tactically fluid players.

    I like this discourse, but I think this video comes a little late lol. I think this Guardiola, positional play-era is slowly starting to fade and the set ups favoring two 8s is slowly reverting back to creative playmakers, that however have to put in more defensive work than a zizou back in his days. Look at Musiala, Wirtz or Bellingham whom you mentioned yourself. They are all centrally placed offensive midfielders with flair, around whom teams are built. I also think that this narrative of the premier league being Guardiola-fied is not the entrie picture. But the principles of positional play and the physicality of the premier league change the structure of football further to a point, where I believe that the game is "outplayed" and characteristics such as tactical awareness, cleverness and physical prowess are so widely common, that any further advancements in this direction yield diminishing returns, favoring the return of singular key-players that are strong in one vs one situations and more creative, meaning the return of the classic number 10.

    • @Account.for.Comment
      @Account.for.Comment 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I try to simplify this. Messi was still the classic 10 in an Argentina shirt. The No.10, like Ozil, Messi, Zidane, early Scholes are the one that direct or create the team attack. The No10 are more like Pele and Bergkamp. They are attackers whose playstyles are closer to strikers than midfielders.
      Odegaard, Kdb, Modric did that to an extent, but they are more like Iniesta and Xavi, are more like controlling midfielders. They played like normal midfielder, pressing, passing, trying to control the midfield, and then occasionally create an assist or initiate a coach drill.
      You can see the key difference to see are that Ozil, Zidane, Messi, Maradona, Pele are all given freedom to play their game without the coach instruction. Odegaard, Kdb, Modric acted by their coaches instructions. So while they are playmakers, the flair that the former group generated, just gave a different feeling.

In the 2000s-10s, more of the creative players were being put in the wings, like Neymar or Carzola but the most creative like Messi or Ozil got the central spot, (then they often moved to the wing without instruction). Now even the team most creative players like Trent, Zinchenko were put on the fullback role despite the lack of defense skill. While the most physical ones play centrally, like a typical midfielder or a "defensive" striker.

    This video is not true imo, maybe 5 years ago lol, but not now. Bundesliga alone have Florian Wirtz, Musiala, Xavi Simmons, Dani Olmo. There are many amazing young number 10’s in all top leagues bringing back the position of natural 10. (Arda Guler, Kenan Yildiz, Eberechi Eze, Olise, Charles DK, Odegard, Szoboslai, Gibbs white, Bellingham (for now)) In my opinion the number 10 position has never been so good in many years, it’s though a renaissance.

      @@r1medi All the players I mentioned are natural MODERN number 10’s bruh (except maybe Bellingham). Football has evolved and literally every single position needs to do defensive work in modern high paced, physical football. According to your argument then all classical positons died then. My point is that this video is outdated. And as I clearly mentioned the number 10 is going through a renaissance and has never been better in decades.

    • @r1medi
      @r1medi  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Bro we’re agreeing with each other! I’m saying the era of the classic 10 where players barely move is over. But I disagree with some of the players you claim are 10s. Musiala/Wirtz are forwards in my eyes, as is Dani Olmo and Morgan Gibbs White. Bellingham is potentially the only one but even he’s going to be deeper next season

    • @grimegarage09isplop
      @grimegarage09isplop 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @r1medi I don't need to watch this video to see you don't know entirely what you're talking about... As someone else has pointed out in the comments section... a traditional number 10 is akin to striker playmaker more so than a midfielder... they are that in-between, the best of both positions.. The flair, the creativity, the skill, the assist/finisher... Maradona was a freak, a pure artist that could play deep, right, left, central, upfront... Traditional number 10's (bar Maradona) would either sit behind the number 9 or cut in from wide..
      Zidane was never a true number 10, more so for the national side than club side. People's misconceptions about what a number 10 was has been a result of all this new jargon about false 9, wide forward blah blah simply because of proliferation of so many teams playing 4-3-3 or the cowardly 4-2-3-1 and too many people (pundits included) pretending they're experts and historians..
      A traditional number 10 almost always played in a 4-4-2 or 5-3-2 (mostly in italy)..
      The closet I see to an old school number 10 would be Maddison (however I don't watch as much football as I used to) yet he is more of a traditional 8 in my opinion.. He among all others just dont have the freedom or flair to play the trafitional 10 role..... Side note, Let's not forget that these are arbitrary Squad numbers that do not always mean what people think, numbers don't always have the same job in different teams... I have seen number 7's (I.e Le-tissier) playing the traditional number 10 role... Then there is the number 10's who were/are pure speed demon out and out strikers that play ahead of a number 9 I.e Owen, Anelka..
      Platini, Baggio, Zola, were fine examples of what a number 10 should be.
      However, I do agree that (from what I've seen the past few years) there are next to zero traditional number 10's in today's football.. And anyone who says KDB is one obviously doesn't know what they're talking about...
      And before anyone who's not old enough to bother reading this post, or keeps mentioning how many trophies a player has won (in a team sport) or that Messi or neymar are the greatest, or some juvenile half illiterate comment like "dunt know ball"..
      I am in my 40's, have been watching football since the early 80's, used to watch Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, French, English, German, Dutch, Argentinian, Brazilian, Scottish 😂, lower leagues, MLS, and even catch eurogoals which used to show highlights of Austrian, Greek, Turkish, and few other leagues.... I have watched more football than many have played Fifa Console games.

    10s died when world footbal accepted pep and jose answers for each of there two styles pep with the false 9 in messi and the greatest version of a ramdeuter could even say 8/10 hybrid in Iniesta meaning extra midfielders and overloads in possession and jose off the ball tactics having the 10 use there cover shadow to block passing lanes for the single pivot or transitioning within the game from a 4-2-3-1 to a 4-3-3 requires a ten with tactical understanding some physical attributes to get back and to go forward sniejder was a ten but tactically a central midfielder tho lampard crashed the box he had to do the work going back the other way as well they've both used 8/10 hybrids but the game keeps going forward players have greater physical attributes now and pressing is the mantra of every modern attacking team so no space for the ten but I think this can change unai emerys inverter that we see with Jacob Ramsey sometimes John mcginn or even when de zerbi had macAlister tho still a 8/10 ... still closer to a ten than a bruno or a Connor Gallagher
