xdinary hereos are so talented , they write their own songs , good enough is about one of the members gunil love story in college and young k from day6 helped in the writing , unfortunately one of the members junhan is not in the good enough mv , freakin bad has such good word play bang chan (skz) just recently reacted and said he was impressed , you should definitely give a chance to some of their other songs i know there's a few it won't be your cup of milk but i think you'll like a few , also they do a bunch of covers , would recommend their cover of hellevator by skz , dinamite by bts and impossible by nothing but thieves

If you want a better idea of who's singing what, I highly recommend their live (well, live-ish, the vocals were likely done live but the video is clearly several takes edited together) performance of Good Enough for hello82. It's very stripped back and you really feel their emotion in the delivery. There's also a performance video of Dear H on their channel. Both are a very new style for them, but as always they truly kill it with their performances.
I really appreciate how you find things to like about Freakin Bad even if it's not your usual cup of tea. It has definite 80s hair metal vibes that they manage to blend with their usual controlled chaos style. It's not the best showcase of their vocal skills (except for Joooyeon's screams lol) but it's catchy as hell which is what a good title track should be. Also, I giggled at you commenting that they should just say fucking at the beginning, but at the end you missed how they managed to sneak in a couple swears in Britney Spears "if you seek amy" style (they make "if you seek it why owe you" sound like they're spelling out "f u c k y o u", Bang Chan just reacted to it and was devastated that he didn't think of that first lol). And I 100% agree that one of their main vocalists should be on Lee Mujin's show, they'd smash that.
Quick member breakdown: Jooyeon is the one with long hair, pooooowerful vocals and bassist, also the maknae. Jungsu is the other lead vocalist, blond mullet-ish type hair, 2nd oldest and keyboardist. Gaon is the one with the deeper voice that cried at a desk in Good Enough (ps, I'm so glad you pointed him out bc I think his deep tone is so beautiful too), guitarist and also rapper, somewhere in the middle age-wise and a living meme. Ode had the dramatic phone booth meltdown in Good Enough, keyboard/synth player and vocalist/rapper, a multi-talented fashion king. Jun Han was the one w/ the camcorder at the end of Dear H (which he was the main writer for), lead guitarist and the only one who doesn't really sing but does contribute to some harmonies and effects like whispers, sadly was sick with a bad stomach bug when they filmed Good Enough which is why he's not in the mv, the only introvert in the group. Gunil had the camera at the railroad tracks in Good Enough, leader and drummer, has a lovely voice but singing while drumming is hard so we don't get to hear him too often, oldest, moved to US in middle school so has the best English and actually went to Berkley College of Music on scholarship for drums.
For recommendations, I'd recommend starting with their b sides from previous albums. I love their title tracks, but when they don't have to worry about making it easy to sing along to at music shows they really get to stretch their musical wings. Strawberry Cake has a mv you can react to and it's a fan favorite for a reason; that reason is Jooyeon's insane vocals. I'm also a fan of Ghost and Sucker Punch. On this latest album, Man In The Box and Bicycle are so fun. They also have some really stellar covers both on their channel and variety shows. I think their cover of g-idle's Tomboy should be mandatory viewing if you want to really experience their talent. I'm not sure if you're familiar with the vocal competition show Immortal Songs, but they've done 2 appearances where they put their spin on classics from legendary Korean singers and both are stellar. If you wondered what a rock/punk version of Hellevator by Stray Kids might sound like, then look no further bc XH did it and it's so good that I think I actually prefer it to the original (don't tell any of the skz).

Thank you for breakdown! As if Jooyeon is the maknae, WILD!! I think I definitely will have to react to their covers since they have been mentioned a lot. And yes I love a deep voice!

As a villain, I'm still aware that there are songs that they are going to release or have released that are not going to be my cup of tea. I just enjoy their talents, personalities and their stage performances. They are just fun to watch on stage because they always look like they are having fun

I think you would prefer the b-sides. Happy Death Day didn't do them justice at all. They dropped their debut then completely disappeared for 4 months. No social media, no updates, no behind the scenes, nothing. Then Hello, World dropped in June/July 2022 and it was INSANE.
We didn't have a fandom name at the time so we called ourselves 'Xhoes'. I don't know what took JYP so long but it was like someone noticed and panicked so we got to vote and became 'villains' because every hero needs a Villain.
'Hello, World' isn't as hard core as 'Overload' - their November 2022 release - and that will always be my favourite. I don't know if you have a PO Box but if you do, I will send the music score copy of it to you. I ended up with 4 copies of the album (I bought the basic and score version then my husband surprised me with the same again on my 40th birthday in December 😂). Regardless I think you will _love_ Pirates, it's a jazzy, simple melody that I hum randomly.
'Deadlock', this most recent cb threw everyone off. Until this album we hadn't got any slower tracks so when I heard 'Dear H' and 'Good Enough' I cried. Jooyeon's powerhouse vocals mixed with Gaon and O.de's lower registers just... Oof. Definitely go back to the start with Hello World, I recommend to listen to the albums in order to really get the feel of them. _However_ I doubt you will like Overload too much, it's harder and rockier with a *lot* of experimental vocals and rap.

Ok i'll add those to my next Xdinary reaction as well as their covers, I'm excited to hear pirates. I'll skip Overload lol

long hair is also my favorite and he is the bassist. a very fearless singer. i remember some of their live stages where he cracked doing the high note from strawberry cake but the fact that he even attempted it in a live setting shows what kind of a musician he is(he cracked once or twice but slayed every other live performance). really loved their covers especially love me right by exo and tomboy by Gidle i think youll like it

I highly recommended listening to their song Strawberry Cake as well. That’s my favorite song of their’s. Their entire discography is amazing, each album has a different feel to it. (I’m sure other people have already mentioned it, but there are actually 6 members. JunHan got sick right as Deadlock was released. So he was out for a while and was sick at the time of the recording for Good Enough.)

There are actually 6 members in this band, one of their guitarists (junhan) was sick when they filmed good enough and he also missed the group filming for dear H. He's the one who does the guitar solo in freakin bad and he's the guy at the end of dear H with the video camera. I'm glad to see more react channels learning about them, and I definitely recommend any of their covers! all of their music is so so good.

They are incredible live and have done some amazing covers, Stray Kids’ Hellevator, (g)Idle’s Tomboy (amazing), Nothing But Thieves’ Impossible absolutely blew me away. What’s so exciting is that they’re still so new and have so much growth in them, I can’t wait to see where they go.

They did kind of say fuck in the “if you seek it why owe you” cuz they pronounced it in a way that’s F-U-C-K Y-O-U, taking a page out of Britney’s book lol
Xdh have rather eh title tracks for me but their b-sides are good. Their best songs imo are knockdown, strawberry cake, pirates, ghost, x-mas, good enough and man in the box. Although they have “live clips” for half of these I suggest the concert versions for actual live stages😆

I had a similar journey with XH. After checking out “Happy Death Day,” I was like “…okay. Good for them. But no thanks.” 😂
However, I revisited that track after enjoying their first or second comeback and found myself getting into their stuff more. I honestly can’t pinpoint why I was so opposed to them at first, because now I’m kinda confused about how I could have had such a negative initial take. Maybe it was the aesthetic or overall concept? 🤷‍♀️ idk
Anyway, they are now easily in my top 3 current favorites. (current = groups putting out music regularly)

The one with really long hair and THAT voice is Jooyeon, the bassist and maknae. The other epic vocals come from Jungsu (the keyboardist) and Gaon (guitar). Good Enough is my barometer for if a person has taste or not. It is so gorgeous, it made me an instant villain (their fandom). I recommend you watch them perform live.

I'm new to your channel and I just wanna say that I appreciate you for being honest at the same time not being rude about it. Because obviously not everyone is gonna like their music so I appreciate you for saying what the things that you're not a fan of but also try your best to compliment them with the other good stuffs. Even me personally, I consider Xdinary Heroes as one of my ults but there are definitely songs of theirs that I wasn't a fan of at first listen. Mostly for title tracks. The only title track I was fine of during the first listen was freakin bad while the others took me quite a while especially Happy Death Day. Their bsides however are always my cup of tea. I have not heard any song from their albums aside from some of their title tracks that I didn't like. And I'm sure that's also the case for a lot of villains. I actually wasn't expecting to stan them this much knowing how long it took me to actually vibe with their debut Happy Death Day but as soon as I heard the songs on their first album, watched their live performances and saw how chaotic they are as a group. I know that's gonna make me stan them, even though that there are some songs that I don't like and I'm sure they're gonna keep on releasing title tracks that are not really the easy to listen type of songs, but because I know their talents and what they're capable of. That really what makes me stay as a villain. One thing I like about their title tracks tho is that they really stick on to their concept. Like they already have this sound that you could just tell it's Xdinary Heroes. Which is something that a lot of artists struggle to have even after years of experience. Tbh I would recommend all of their bsides lol, that's just how good their albums are. But if I'm gonna pick the one that I'd recommend the most then Hello World album is a good introduction for their skills and sound.

Hello 82 version of Good Enough is so much better than the video because as a band it’s important to see how they really sing.
