@Vibhu Bharadwaj I don't recollect asking anyone about it. I know it hasn't been launched in India but it has been launched in Europe. Don't give unnecessary advice when people don't ask for it.
Test rode this beauty/beast and instantly fell in love. Have one on order in black (personal preference) and waiting for the new registration in September to receive her, although my Nuda 900R will always be my queen! Watched a number of reviews and this one certainly tops them all with the quality of shooting/editing/commentary/music. My only pointer for future videos is to perhaps have a high quality mic close to the exhaust and have a segment for just hearing the exhaust whilst cold start/idle/during a ride. Well done and congratulations on the video guys, will check out your gear 👍🏼
Oh boy if you test rode one like it,wait till you know the bike you'll be in love. At the beginning I was ok with it,then i learned how to ride it. Always had inline 4s,so the V-twin is different animal and now i really think this is best street bike I've owed since 1981. Love it now!
Always thought I wanted an r1 after an r6 but sdr 1290 is screaming my name , wheelie monster. Can’t get enough of the sound and look. Kudos to KTM for giving us what we want year after year
I think they have directed the weight down to the front wheel because they realised they were loosing speed to lift, ktm just doing what they know about track bikes to everything they own.

That bike makes more power than my car and has a wider tire too. What a time to be alive. Cant wait to what the next 10 years will hold for hyper nakeds
I have to disagree on the build quality and reliability, there are many known issues with this new model right now. That's the thing that stopped me from buying one outright. It's awesome to ride, looks really cool, is comfortable to ride and has great safety features. But all of this doesn't matter if it's more at the dealer for repairs..
Hi, agree, there are a couple of reliability niggles on the bike, and we had our own which you would have heard us speak about in the review. However, the feel of the build quality is absolutely second to none and we stand by that comment. Thanks, Aaron KNOX
I've seen several youtubers now with problems with this bike during their reviews....A mates 790 adventure practically lives at the dealers due to warranty issues...sorry Ktm, love your bikes but I'd never buy one....I prefer riding than dealership coffee
As a 790Duke owner, the 1290 seems like almost too much for the street, the 790 isn't exactly slow. So my heart says yes yes yes, but my brain is like WTF would you like to get killed quicker?! 😂😂😂 Awesome bike and awesome review!

Hard choice really. For me personally, the 890r is absolutely amazing in tighter country roads, so agile, flickable and amazing performance. The Super Duke R is... a beast!! Aaron KNOX
Great video. I love the video riding around the Lake District. I think I rode those very roads a long time ago. I don’t mean to be a nanny but I hope you wear appropriate gear for the speeds you’re riding. I own quite a lot of Knox kit but there really isn’t, let’s say, a track focus on the jackets and jeans. I’d like to see Knox offer some gear suitable for high speeds rather than urban / suburban.
Hi Martin, glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for your continued support. Also, appreciate your concern, and yes, we were wearing full CE approved products from the Knox collection, in fact the majority of which was AA rated, which is the highest rating recommended for motorcycle clothing other than 1 and 2 piece leather suits. Of course, a full accompanyment of Knox MicroLock armour is included. Plus of course, we were wearing the Handroid gloves, which are the best gloves in the world bar none. You can check out the gear we were wearing in the description. Many thanks, Aaron KNOX
I can not but agreed with everything you’ve said about this bike. As I my self have one in my garage right now with almost 1000 miles on it. Thanks for the on point review.
Great review, I have been waiting for the price to drop on these and I've been watching the groups and forums and it seems there are a number of issues with the switchgear as you found. Quite off putting on a bike like this. 👍
I've had no issues, but having so much electronics kind of worries me. I think the tester doesn't know that the blinkers have auto shut off, that's nice feature.

Okay i never in 1000 years thought i would buy one of these after riding the Ducati 1199,the engine on the 1290R makes the Ducati feel old and antiquated. Comfortable, power well lets say am side by side ZX-14R that should give you pretty good idea how fast this bike is! Downfall if someone can just make a sexy chin fairing then you can put the cruise control on 140kph without massive wind blast. This bike doesn't need a 6 gear speedbox. Great review, maybe you didn't know it has self canceling turn signal.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. Yes, the signal was stuck on for about 4 days until we could finally turn it off. It was just a faulty switch I believe. Thanks Aaron KNOX
Another great video and very fair review also tells the faults that you had with the bike during the time spent testing it and not papering over problems with a 16 grand bike
Thanks a lot for this beautiful review , keep up the good work , really appreciate it , enjoyed watching it , please review the Triumph Street Triple R and S and RS 2020😀👍🏍️🏍️🌾
Dude this bike is the real King of the Super naked, It is so beautiful, nothing can compare its beauty😍❤️. And the bike itself is just awesome!!! and by the way, how's the reliability of this thing???
That's was my concern about getting the 2020,after hearing guys doing well over 50Ks that's good enough for me. What am worried more is all these new electronics.
Bacem Ben Romdhan start with a 790. Trust me. That’s the most fun you’ll have on a middleweight bike. You’ll pick one up for buttons now the 890 is here.
I was riding my MT10 around those roads for my channel but you really have my interest with that KTM. Powerful super nakeds are so much fun and it does look about the best one out there at this moment. Reliability does concern me as I've had four trouble free years with the Yam. Perhaps some existing KTM owners could reassure me?
Hey I just sold my MT10 (which like you I had for 3 years) for one of these. I picked it up yesterday and no doubt it’s an amazing bit of kit but I’m still missing my MT10..best bike I ever owned.
I’ve owned a bike a 2015 KTM Superduke 1290r it was a amazing motorcycle I sold it with 13.5k miles I never had a issue with it I been thinking of getting one of the new 2020 models! It’s either this bike or the street fighter V4 leaning towards the Ducati being as I never had one before
@@mbal4052 The thing with all these super powerful naked bikes, they are all quicker than my ability to ride them quick if that makes any sense. It's more important that I fit the bike and its comfortable over distance. Goes without saying it's got to be fun to ride. I would like a test on the Super Duke and the Ducati but both look expensive considering I paid under 10k for the MT10.
@@Banditmanuk I agree, the MT10 is serious value for money and has a very comfy riding position. The 2020 1290 is a little bit more extreme woth more weight on the wrists and over the front though still quite comfy..there are some new Gen2 1290's still avaialable in the UK for about £12k which is tremendous value anf they are a little less extreme too
Probably around 5kg if we remember right... Not enough to make a massive difference, but it is a weight saving for sure... the full akrapovic is around £2k as well so its quite expensive. THanks, Aaron KNOX
Thanks and glad you enjoyed it! Knox has been going since 1981 but we've been producing this sort of content for a couple of years. Welcome aboard! Aaron KNOX
I personally don't care for its looks, but I would buy it for its performance. My 2 favorite bikes, looks wise only, are a 2001 Ducati 996 and the new Triumph Rocket 3 R, but neither are practical if you can only have one bike.
Streetfighter got nothing under 6000 rpm, were as leaving the lights and half way intersection your up up in the air on the 2020 1290R,yes it really does need the anti wheelie, lol.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. I haven't actually ridden the Tuono yet, however, hopefully will remedy that next year... Irrespective of that, the SuperDuke R is hard to beat as a fun road bike, although it is a Beast and has to be given respect... Thanks, Aaron KNOX
Superduke r is superbike quick pretty much. On the road every bit as fast as anything out there. Track maybe not, but on road, easily as fast. Aaron Knox
I've purchased this amazing machine, really couldn't care less for the electronics except cruise control. These bikes have so much electronics today that if something don't work, then bike goes into limp mode. Forcing you get it fix.
Controls are beta stage probably but installed on your bike version. Rush to sale like Tesla but rather good product. Just get a new control switch now with the garantee
@@KnoxArmour iwas just curious...i am from India occupied kashmir ..our internet was suspended in 2019 August.. and then it was restored to 2g 64kbps few months back...n iwas not able to watch videos on more than 240p on TH-cam ..it was the only video wich was buffering pretty good n i was able to watch it on 480 p without any lag.. thats why i was curious about knowing your camera setup... because soon i might start a TH-cam channel
The production quality of this video is just out of this world. The color grading, the script(if any),the cinematography... Is just top notch guys. Considering you guys are not even a reviews brand in first place.. Hats off ♥️🔥😎👊 Also when you guys were doing wheelies was the wheelie control was on? & does it do them when it's fully on in high test setting?
Thanks Onkar... yes, we put a lot of effort into our productions, glad you appreciate it. Ref wheelies, the anti-wheelie was turned off which you need to do on the SuperDuke if you want to wheelie. With anti wheelie on, the front will lift a little, but then the electronics kick in. To have the anti wheelie off function, you need to purchase the optional tech pack or just turn off TC. Hope that helps, Thanks Aaron KNOX
Hearing a few issues with this bike already. It is obviously a tremendous machine but the issues with the switchgear is not good enough for a premium bike. KTM need to sort this pronto. Personally I prefer the Ducati v4 Streetfighter. I hope they produce a V2 Streetfighter soon as that would be perfect in my eyes for the street. Great review by the way. Ride safe.
Maybe, maybe not... thought the set up was awesome as it was, but an evo version keeps up with the competition who have electronic suspension and anti dive night be nice for track work. Aaron Knox
Fantastic review of an awesome bike, if they were the same price I would have a Ducati Streetfighter as can't help being swayed by looks (sorry) but in the real world can get a Super Duke R 1st or 2nd Generation for not too much money.

Another great video and very fair review also tells the faults that you had with the bike during the time spent testing it and not papering over problems with a 16 grand bike
Thanks for the feedback! Aaron KNOX
It's got self canceling signals,he should of known that.
Thanks a lot for this beautiful review , keep up the good work , really appreciate it , enjoyed watching it , please review the Triumph Street Triple R and S and RS 2020😀👍🏍️🏍️🌾
Thanks Ajoy, appreciate it! Aaron KNOX
im leaning with him through those turns. sick
Great review Knox. Do you know if there is much difference between the 2021-22 and 2023? Cheers
Hi, no there isn't any difference, unless you get the new one with electronic suspension. Thanks, Aaron KNOX
This review is superb! KTM should give you a SuperDuke each.
Haha, we might get sent a KTM pen and sticker maybe! Aaron KNOX
Exciting stuff Kind of gives us an idea as to what the Superduke GT 3.0 will be like !
Thanks, yes its a really exciting motorcycle! Aaron KNOX
Bike of dreams but i can't start with it as my first super bike it's toooooo Powerful ❤️
Bacem Ben Romdhan start with a 790. Trust me. That’s the most fun you’ll have on a middleweight bike. You’ll pick one up for buttons now the 890 is here.
Duke 390👍
Helge Johan thats what I had before I bought my speed. 390’s are awesome. 😉
It’s either this bike or the street fighter V4 leaning towards the Ducati being as I never had one before
@@TrigunV4S im sure you will br happy with either. You should get a test ride on them both to see which you prefer
The 2020 1290 is a little bit more extreme woth more weight on the wrists and over the front though still quite comfy..there are some new Gen2 1290's still avaialable in the UK for about £12k which is tremendous value anf they are a little less extreme too
Class apart presentation.
Thanks a lot, glad you appreciate it! Aaron KNOX
This review makes me wanna buy it!!!!
Thanks, its a brilliant motorcycle! Aaron KNOX
Love my 1290R. Glad the previous owner spent a fortune on mods and not me 😆
Bro, are you a film director or something? This is one of the most beautiful bikes i have ever seen. The sound!!!!
Thanks Donnovan, not a film director, but we are trying to make cool content! All the best, Aaron KNOX
Can it be much lighter by putting full titanium exhaust system?
Probably around 5kg if we remember right... Not enough to make a massive difference, but it is a weight saving for sure... the full akrapovic is around £2k as well so its quite expensive. THanks, Aaron KNOX
What a bike, I’ve owned one.
Shame KTM can’t get a handle on their quality issues.
Where was this filmed? Those roads are looking fantastic, I had no idea you had this in the UK!
This was all shot in the Lake District, where Knox is based! Thanks Aaron KNOX
İs it agile and nimble like 890 Duke R?
God made man,man made beast.
The new more firm and sporty, faster trootle response✊
Great review! So you’re saying I need one in my garage? Ok I’ll tell the Miss.
Haha thanks and good luck 🤣
Who are these people, where did they come from??? Hat tip to KTM! Keep going boys!!
Thanks and glad you enjoyed it! Knox has been going since 1981 but we've been producing this sort of content for a couple of years. Welcome aboard! Aaron KNOX
The RR version of this vas so beautifull.
I personally don't care for its looks, but I would buy it for its performance.
My 2 favorite bikes, looks wise only, are a 2001 Ducati 996 and the new Triumph Rocket 3 R, but neither are practical if you can only have one bike.
Streetfighter v4 vs 1290 SDR would have been a perfect comparo...😍😍😍😍😍
Streetfighter got nothing under 6000 rpm, were as leaving the lights and half way intersection your up up in the air on the 2020 1290R,yes it really does need the anti wheelie, lol.
Great review. Really tempted with either this or the tuono as some great deals. Any thoughts on which is the most fun road
What’s it like compared to a super-sport? Slower on the road?
Superduke r is superbike quick pretty much. On the road every bit as fast as anything out there. Track maybe not, but on road, easily as fast. Aaron Knox
@@KnoxArmour thanks for the information and the great review.
I've purchased this amazing machine, really couldn't care less for the electronics except cruise control. These bikes have so much electronics today that if something don't work, then bike goes into limp mode. Forcing you get it fix.
Agree, and thats the risk that comes with adding them all.. keyless ride too!! Aaron KNOX
I need one... Badly.. Love the review.. #india
Thanks a lot! Aaron KNOX
Very nice but my question is, how long will the motor last?
Bulletproof been making this LC8 for almost 20 year's,am yet to see someone with engine issue.
Controls are beta stage probably but installed on your bike version. Rush to sale like Tesla but rather good product. Just get a new control switch now with the garantee
Outstanding review!
Glad you liked it! :)
Which camera was used to film this video?
It was our camera. Thanks, Aaron KNOX
@@zacharias1037 ok, to be honest i was only joking. Obviously the equipment we use we wouldn't disclose to the public. Best of luck, thanks Aaron Knox
@@KnoxArmour ok no problem ❤️n love your videos
One day!!
Great review and an awesome machine...But the days of spending that kind of coin on a bike are long gone for me.
Thanks Frank, sure its not going to be for everyone and it is definitely the top of the tree for KTM too. Thanks, Aaron KNOX
Everything is pcp these days, but yes, a lot of coin for what is essentially a toy.
It really is a ‘Beast’ 😈
BEAST!!
The production quality of this video is just out of this world. The color grading, the script(if any),the cinematography... Is just top notch guys. Considering you guys are not even a reviews brand in first place.. Hats off ♥️🔥😎👊
Also when you guys were doing wheelies was the wheelie control was on? & does it do them when it's fully on in high test setting?
Thanks Onkar... yes, we put a lot of effort into our productions, glad you appreciate it.
Ref wheelies, the anti-wheelie was turned off which you need to do on the SuperDuke if you want to wheelie. With anti wheelie on, the front will lift a little, but then the electronics kick in. To have the anti wheelie off function, you need to purchase the optional tech pack or just turn off TC. Hope that helps, Thanks Aaron KNOX
This video is Pure Poetry 🤩
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! Aaron KNOX
@@KnoxArmour If KTM didn't had reliability issues then I would have happily traded my ZX 14R for the Duke.
Ride safe.
Hhhaha Italien bikes are biggest Quality trash
My dream bike
Fantastic review (and bike!). No regrets with my 890, though. It's just a better fit for me.
Awesome, both great bikes! Thanks Aaron KNOX
You sound just like Ewan McGregor. Great review!
Haha, first for everything! Aaron KNOX
how's going to buy me one
King of streets
Do we need a superduke evo ?
Maybe, maybe not... thought the set up was awesome as it was, but an evo version keeps up with the competition who have electronic suspension and anti dive night be nice for track work. Aaron Knox
Fantastic review of an awesome bike, if they were the same price I would have a Ducati Streetfighter as can't help being swayed by looks (sorry) but in the real world can get a Super Duke R 1st or 2nd Generation for not too much money.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. Really great bike! Aaron KNOX
