So many geniuses in this world have been lost to the winds because of their location, social status, circumstance. All children deserve and have a right to an education. So many more known geniuses in the world would help us advance into a better society with greater speed.

Agree. The education systems in many countries need revision so that these people are not lost.
The other thing wrong with many education systems is the assumption that all children develop their learning at the same pace. Nothing could be further from the truth. I have seen kids who failed a year at school, just because their minds weren't ready at the time, who were given a second chance and turned out to be brilliant students.

What I find more disturbing in the year 2020 is what Google says: How many girls don't go to school? According to UNESCO, there are an estimated 130 MILLION girls between the ages of 6 and 17 out of school. 15 million primary school-aged girls will likely never enter a classroom in their lifetime. (And they will raise more children.)

@gaurav kohli even india had their own trigonometry, the decimal system. Indias systems where much complex that they had time system from 10-⁷ to 10²². Imagine using 1/1687.5th of a second using in their time system and basic unit of time called lipa which is 0.4 seconds to the calculations older than the age of this universe. Pyramids are one thing but Kailasha temple is another the sheer amount of stone that scooped out of the temple complex can put together to build a structure bigger than pyramids and yeah they have less degradation than pyramid overtime.

Aryabhatta was the first one to formulate the present form of sine and cosine table. The formula sin(a+b), cos(a+b) was first proved by Bhaskaracharya,he was first to suggest the idea of circular functions.Madhava of Sangamagram was the first to formulate the infinite series for sin, cos, tan and even for inverse too.Ancient Indian scholars were more fond of their work rather running for so called 'fame' like the western world.

Or simple directly as the original question and use another account to answer yourself wrongly, that way, others will jump in on an opportunity to correct someone else and feel superior.....
And this actually works better than just asking the question normally

There was literally nothing theoretical or abstract within the original Cambridge mathematical tripos: it was basically a mammoth exercise in rote learning, and garnered a young graduate huge social and later professional prestige, no matter their eventual field, if they topped that year’s examination results’ roster, thus gaining the title of “Senior Wrangler;” which is how people like later Prof. Bertrand Russel ended up taking that particular course, then moving to logic, and eventually finding world fame as a philosopher of the mind.
Though Russell was home schooled, anyway, it was universally common for those embarking on this mammoth endeavour, who had the means, to employ a private tutor in their task: such as the man who authored this volume.

@2:06 - "Or really indicate where they came from..." - that's completely inaccurate: You failed to mention that Ramanujan himself credits his mathematical findings to the Goddess of Namagiri. According to Ramanujan, she appeared to him in visions, proposing mathematical formulas that he would then have to verify. One such event was described by him as follows: "I had an unusual experience. There was a red screen formed by flowing blood, as it were. I was observing it. Suddenly a hand began to write on the screen. I became all attention. That hand wrote a number of elliptic integrals. They stuck to my mind. As soon as I wok up, I committed them to writing."

My question is about how Ramanujan could follow the arguments in this text without prior knowledge of notation. He must have had to work from his own intuitions backwards to a degree. And something about the style of this synopsis must have clicked with him. So often it seems that the right book falls into the right hands at just the right time. Ramanujan sure is one of the GREATEST of all time, but don't thank India for that. You are just undermining Ramanujan doing that. He did not get any support in India, if Hardy did not recognise him, you probably would not have known about Ramanujan.
You never thank U K for Sir Isaac Newton, nor Germany fir Albert Einstein, not France, for Laplace, etc., and that is when the countries did provide support to them. Majority of India is ignorant to science and mathematics. They invest all in politics and religion, and when they speak about progress, the first name is Srinivasa Ramanujan.
The ISRO scientists did not have budget for making one rocket. No politician faces lack of money for doing bullshit. India as a country does not deserve to be thanked for Ramanujan or C V Raman or S N Bose.

Despite abstraction that caused his madness - as with Newton, Weierstrass, Cantor, Frege, Goedel, von Neumann et al - Ramanujan always held fast to Hinduism and its rat-worship and its belief that its chief goddess entered the anus of a cow. In fact, the mathematician who knew infinity is the one to whom Christ Almighty said: I gave you infinities to play with & an infinity to search for - i.e. - the creator of Non-Cantorian set theory, infinite sentences & transfinite fractions [= me]. The highest form of mathematics is the Most Holy Trinity. Figure that out, kids!
