Really informative honest review. Thank you. I previously owned the T2 and it really was excellent, i sold it as I just couldn't justify a $1200 camera that could brick at any moment. I do miss it and am contemplating the TVS/TVSii

Just ordered one last night! Excited to check this thing out. Is that lens cap you have there 30.5mm? Need to get one for it

The T2, compared to TVS, is a tad smaller and has a better viewfinder and lens. For the types of film commonly used in such cameras and the types of photos taken, those differences are almost meaningless. For the zoom and other conveniences of the TVS and a price which is now about 35% of the T2, I cannot imagine why anyone would prefer the T2 (and I've owned a T2 for more than 25 years). Frankly, the TVS II has a better lens and the lens is self-capping,for about the same price to +10% of the TVS, so it's a better deal than both.

Contax TVS is good, hand feel is same as Contax T2, but the image quality is average, not near good as other fixed lens point and shoot, nowhere near as T2, TVS III image quality is in between TVS and T2

Ah sounds like your trying to talk me into getting my hands on a T2! Thanks for the comparison, I am pretty happy with TVS but it sounds like I need to get my hands on T2. I might be pleasantly surprised!

@@ryankazmer2561 TVS is very good as zoom p&s, another great option fix lens is Ricoh GR1

Oh I’d love to get my hands on a GR1! So small and compact!

I have a TVS and the lens is fine. Put some Pro Image 100 in the day time and it’s fantastic.

@@ryankazmer2561 All things are relative, my dude. If you want the very best, small point-n-shoot, based on lens performance and camera operation/convenience, but at the price of being larger because of its non-retracting lens, then you need a Konica Hexar AF at about 70% the price of a T2, or a bit less than twice the price of a TVS. If you can handle the additional weight, can focus yourself, and have a large coat pocket, then get a Nikon FG with a late model Nikkor 50mm 1.8, which adds a lot of features, SLR function, and will optically blow all of these Point-N-Shoots out of the water, for about $125.
