I totally agree that just having the camera with you is the most important part especially for documenting daily life. I used to carry a disposable before fully getting into film photography and now I switch between an Olympus MJU i and a Yashica T4. Memories are priceless, great video!
I owned the T2 for a while now and I'm considering going for the T3, so I've been watching a lot of reviews, and I gotta say this is by far the best video I saw so far. Loved your reflexive, poetic and relaxed style, the intro is so simple and yet so beautiful. Instantly subscribed!
All great... had one. Sold it cos film just became so expensive about a year ago. Do I regret? Only cos the price kept going up ... but the convenience of the GRiiiX with film sims and being at 40mm... has been a real blast too. Convenient and handy with various ISOs to keep shooting even in low light.
QUESTION: during the day do you recommend using flash or just at night… or even then do you just rely on the 2.8 aperture to let in lighting for portraits? I have a cheap kodak Ektar H35 and you always have to use the flash for that. Thank youuuu
you gotta try negative supply for scanning, i've been using them all year and getting the most out of the carl ziess glass on my leica m6 with a proper scanning solution.
Ive thought about buying one of the small Sony cameras just to carry around with me everywhere and take photos of moments with my friends and family but phones are so good now do you think its still worth getting one. I shoot on a Sony a7riii now by the way.
Congrats on the new spot. Also, been wanting to pick up a decen't point and shoot. Sometimes the Pentax 645 and Nikon f4 are just too much. Great video as always!
Hey bro! Just discovered your channel, first time and you got me hooked, what a vibe. Would love to connect if you ever come to Lisbon. Congrats on the content, subscribed. Cheers Alex
Love this video, and have been looking into a point-and-shoot for a while. Does anyone else have recommendations for cheaper p&s cameras before pulling the trigger on this one?
The Contax T3 is a fantastic camera, but also consider the Rollei 35, the Olympus Pen F, and my favorite the Olympus XA. The XA has excellent rangefinder manual focusing on a sharp lens. The Rollei 35 has some finicky operations you can read about. The Pen F is a half-frame camera, so you get 72 shots from a 36-exposure role, which can be a tremendous advantage. Of course, there are many other cameras like these. I couldn't afford a Contax T for a pocket camera back in the day and substituted an Olympus XA (not the XA2, XA3, XA4) that I still have and use. The XA actually fits in a pocket, even the pocket of a pair of Levis 501s, it's that small. Shutter priority automation on the 35mm f/2.8 is perfect paired with manual rangefinder focusing, nice boca when you want it. There is a 1.5-stop backlight switch for handling snow/beach lighting conditions, but I use that and also reset the ISO to handle over-under exposure needs. The attachable flash unit is usable but slow, but I don't find it necessary very often. My work camera at the time was Leica M3 with a small set of lenses, the Olympus XA was the perfect pocket companion. The XA2, XA3, XA4 are all zone focus and I wouldn't fuss with that, it's nothing like the sharpness you set with the rangefinder.
Honestly most of my favorite photos are taken with $20 point and shoot film cameras just because it was able to capture moments where I wouldn’t have had my mirrorless camera on me. This is video is my sign to upgrade to a T2. I’ve had my A7iii with me for a while now and hardly use it because I don’t want to lug it around NYC.

“Overpriced but not overhyped…” exactly 🎯
I love mine 📸
I wish I could afford one ):

I would go GRiiiX and live in the modern times.

Man, I love your work! What film were you using with the T3? Also, do you develop your own film or do you recommend any online labs?
Love this video, i would prefer to use the Olympus mju as it’s more affordable! what are your top three film camera?
QUESTION: during the day do you recommend using flash or just at night… or even then do you just rely on the 2.8 aperture to let in lighting for portraits?

Love this video bro, great message, great camera, great voice hahah
hi, would there be a cheaper alternative to this?
You said 5 dollar thrift store cameras and though it was funny I got my t3 for 7 at a goodwill😂
Great vid. Can't wait to get another one of these! I sold that to Haven and now he sold it to you!
Love the Contax T3, definitely NOT overhyped. Btw, where did you get these binders from?
Awesome video! Dude I took a photo of a boat in Maine that was framed exactly the same way as the photo at 4:22! That’s crazy haha
new fav youtube channel unlocked
Insane photos! 😭❤️

Hey can you please give us the link for buying your box film archives ?
May I ask where your film binders are from?
It’s selling at $1900-2300 where I live, do you think it’s worth the high price?
How do you think it compares to the Rollei 35s?
thanks for sharing! Olympus mju is my go to for daily at the moment! always need something compact P&S!
amazing. curious, have you tried the minolta tc1?

its not all about quality, its about feeling. Film cameras will feel more special and deliberate
Congrats on the new spot. Also, been wanting to pick up a decen't point and shoot. Sometimes the Pentax 645 and Nikon f4 are just too much. Great video as always!
Why not use X100V instead?
absolutely loved this video, thank you for sharing..!

Awesome video. Keep up the amazing work.
Think I need to use my Fuji klasse more 😃
What do you use to scan?
Beautiful Review! Which kind of Scanner you use?
Is it too risky to buy this lens as they are expensive and old and can break down
Love this video, and have been looking into a point-and-shoot for a while. Does anyone else have recommendations for cheaper p&s cameras before pulling the trigger on this one?
So many good ones out there. Olympus makes some great ones
Olympus XA, Olympus MJU i, Olympus MJU ii, Nikon 35ti, Minolta tc-1.

You can also consider the Contax TVS, which goes at a quarter of the price of the T3, and also the Nikon l35af
@@paradisa13 Contax TVS got so expensive over the past few months 😢
Awesome shots. Watched video on 43” display and scans looks so good. Can you tell me something about what you get from lab ? 6000x4000 tiffs?
Scan yourself.
@@mrnavarropablo I rarely do film photography
I get my stuff scanned on a Noritsu hs-1800
Thank you for sharing, nice pics!!!
More Contax T3 content! I need to sell mine for $2000🤣
what film do you use?
Sonnar lenses are so special
Convincing b-roll of you pretending to take pictures. hahahaha
Such an awesome vid
my minolta point and shoot just broke so watching this kinda hurt haha
how tall are you sam?
I think P&S cameras are really what our phones have replaced. But you do get a more "real" feel out of the proper ones.
The gestures you make with your hands are uncanny as hell..
Olympus RC35.
Oh my…
😍😍😍
Jesus christ, just looked up the price. I would have never thought they're THAT expensive!
Rip Contax prices
我是第一个哈哈哈哈哈哈
These premium compacts are cool but indeed overpriced.
Paperweight if dies…. and it will! Beautiful camera but yeah nah…………..
urrrgh
It is overpriced BECAUSE it's overhyped ....
