This is a great tutorial. You helped me greatly in the D part. I am not used to shifting positions, but using the sheet music explained it clearly. THANK YOU!!
I loved this instruction...I have the exact sheet music...Thanks for your instruction! (It helped to see what you are doing with your fingers.) great song!
Hi Gio! Thanks so much for the like and the comment. I will add this to my list of tutorials for you! I know that 2nd position part at the end can be tricky. I've been away from youtube for a while, but I'm back and will be posting more soon. As soon as I get to 1000 subscribers my plan is to host a live stream fiddle lesson each week. You can help me get there by watching videos, commenting and liking! Thank you and happy practicing!
Hi there! So sorry it took me so long to reply - I have this arranged for my students - if you would like, I'll put some fingerings in for you! Just let me know
@@EM-gr1ps I've put it up on my website for you :) (www.ready-set-practice.com) I marked some bow directions for you, but if you pay attention to the slurs (the notes that are all played in one bow, indicated by a curved line above or below the notes) you should be able to figure out the bow directions. Good luck and have fun!
Hi Ingrid. The D eighth note right before the [B] part.... It's mark as up-bow, but that doesn't seem to work out. Is it a mistake or am i misunderstanding? Thanks.
Hello! I usually slur (up bow) into the second ending, (like the first ending) and then just take another up for the pickup in to the B part, but you could take the triplet slur in the 2nd ending down bow and then it will work out. It's not really clear in the part, I know! Let me know if you need more help and happy practicing!
@@ReadySetPractice another question... In the third line of the [D] part... It says "shift your hand so 2nd finger is where 3 usually is" ... Directly below the word "so", is a wide upside down V -- what does that symbol mean? Thank you!
Hello again! It's a 1/2 step mark - it means that those two fingers go close together. I had to laugh when I was trying to find the sheet music that said that. I had forgotten that I had posted that *very messy* copy with fingerings and instructions! Hope you are finding it useful. Happy Practicing!
This is nicely played at a good teaching speed. Like sitting on the front porch getting a lesson from a friend. Good job.

Glad it was helpful!
Oh, the "D" part. It still eludes me.
I enjoyed this!! I'm working through the song currently, and this helps,
Todd

@@ReadySetPractice Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule! I found the revised sheet music. Awesome!
@@EM-gr1ps you’re welcome! Have fun :)
This tune was created by Kenny Baker, not Bill Monroe.
