I've had this game for years but I haven't played it in a very long time because the community very abruptly turned from a small group of devs and dedicated skilled players to a swarm of young kids. Totally overran the multiplayer and killed it for me.

No phys gun, no uploading you're custom addons to the steam workshop thats not a brick creation, no props menu blah blah. It's a diffrent game obviously so I'm not gonna say much here.

I used to always watch Camodo's Brick Rigs videos and almost bought the game because of him. I did buy Stormworks: Build and Rescue because of him, and the community on that game is actually not too corrupted; Mostly Cause it its a quite complicated. I feel bad for the dedicated devs and players of this game.
The skill cliff of Stormworks makes it a rewarding but frustrating game all at the same time. I've bought the game for 4 friends and none of them were able to get over it... At the same time this game looks like fun but without any way of filtering the child players out it looks like literal hell for a builder such as myself.

Kinda sad how being "creative" for so many is to take other people's things and then use them to break things that people spent a while on. Your sea monster does look very good though. Kinda like a Moby Dick on steroids.
I mean, it’s a Lego building game. It’s going to attract children; children who will be responsible members of the community when they grow up. This happened with Minecraft, Garry’s mod, and TF2, and those games are thriving because of these grown up children. It may be annoying right now, but children getting involved is a sign the community will grow in the long run, and that means the devs will be more inclined to keep the game alive. It is unambiguously a good thing, if a little annoying sometimes. After all, you were a kid on some game once, and I imagine you were frustrated when the older people in that community just wrote you off immediately. Just be nice and accommodating
I am a server host in Brick Rigs, and I tried hosting a Detroit roleplay, but the GOD DAMN KIDS had to tell me to do a purge, and so I had to literally password enforce the server.
that sucks but im not to suprised as these kids are just annoying as people who either are young and don't want to be annoying have to deal with these gremlins but having to password enforce the server only shows how bad it is
This is super upsetting, but anyone who wants to play the game should be allowed to…no gatekeeping. Best to just steer clear of a lot of public servers for now. A lot of etiquette is being neglected, by younger, more inexperienced players. But once again anyone who wants to play should be permitted to.
Redierecting the general age of the playerbase VIA advertising is not gatekeeping. Little kids could still play the game, but there should be something in place such as advertising to older audiences in order to make the player base more mature and up the average player's age. None of that is gatekeeping, it's very basic social engineering. Pinning this as an example because i knew some ppl would say this.

A lot of roleplay in Brick Rigs has gone down the drain due to the current player base being unable to take it seriously. Change in the advertising of the game starts with you and it starts with us. My first comment was written being difficult to understand. I’m going to clear some things up, preserving what I meant to say originally.
At the very least, these TH-camrs should implement disclaimers when they do something that might encourage toxicity. Camodo Gaming has actually implemented disclaimers in his newest Brick Rigs videos. Also, there is a B.R.A.T. (Brick Rigs Anti-Toxicity) Movement going on right now, which should be able to eliminate most, if not all of the toxicity. There's numerous workshop creations and even a dedicated Steam Group that exists, all because of toxic people. It's not a one-man team, but it's more of an effort by the Brick Rigs community. Also yes, I am actively contributing to the B.R.A.T. Movement.
Dude I get this so much, please look at my channel. I've been trying make videos about what Brick Rigs is really like for the past 3 years. I've even interviewed the developer, and made videos about almost every update. All hard work and hundreds of videos for 600 subscribers. While channels like Camodo Gaming get hundreds of thousands of views off of turning the game into a kids destruction playground. Help I love brickrigs Best $15 I've ever spent. P.s. I'm not trying to get cout off this, I just recognize the wasted potential brick rigs has.
Also there is this other small issues called 4 frames per second Which should actually help with the kiddos problem since most of the potato PCs can't play the game
Believe it or not, one of my friends actually plays this game on an 8 year old computer on integrated graphics, idk how the fuck he manages it, but he does just fine in events.
@@AtomicDude My PC has 12 year old hardware and it runs brick rigs just fine on max graphics Although having more than 6-10,000 bricks spawned in at once causes major lag and freezing
what is funny is that i have (no longer do) watched Comodo's vids 3 or so years ago and a lot of his older Gmod vids and tbh it hits the mind of child like he creates content that hits the algorithm in the right spot and gets all the 9 years old's in so i give credit to the guy he's done pretty good of course it's a curse and a blessing considering he's bringing a bunch of brain dead kids to the game but it is a lego type game so that was going to happen at some point but he does bring a lot of attraction to semi small games and the reason now that i myself play brick rigs of course there will always be "crappy" youtubers who plague these type of games but im fine with Comodo's stuff (some of it) but the other smaller channels that dedicate themselves to just full on "trolling" the games like nuking severs i wish they never existed or other similar things to ruin the game

I agree because in Roblox free radio games where i meet my friends and chat and stuff these 6 year olds play explicit stupid gangster music as if it was Hood Gone Love It by Jay Rock.
I'm not sure how to feel about this, on one end you have the toxic people being angry at the children just because they aren't that good. And then there is the children who think they're good and bring this up on themselves. I honestly just join public servers looking for a good war. But the kids do ruin the experience a lot of the time.
exactly matching my opinion. i feel exactly the same about this game. its a super fun and funny game with friends but that fact is overshadowed by the fact that its filled with small children. its the best game i ever had i keep coming back to it for some reason. its sad not to see these pvp modes being in use. it would drive the devs to make more competitive content. Yes its a sandbox game. Yes it doesnt have to be battlefield but in all of my 6 years on this game i have only played like 4 times on pvp maps (conquest, cap the flag-) with a reasonable ammount of players. Yes theres zombie mode, thats fun but get 8 people spawning their own cars and you have a smooth 20-30 fps. the building is absolutely amazing in this game i love the fact that you can take stuff from the workshop and just modify it however you want. the game has so much potentional its sad to see it being ruined.
I wish I could get it but I can’t buy yet make it work I also gotta admit I loved to watch camodo gaming when I was younger, though the crungy stuff he made 3 years ago made me cringe but the games with his pals which I love still tot his day entertain me for the majority of my early childhood.

True, at least Camodo looks at a lot of the creative stuff that the builders make and is generally enjoying the game itself as a sandbox while OB feels like you lose braincells everytime he's in a video. TBH I wanted to play this as a more laid back alternative to Stormworks where everything I build I end up spending multiple IRL days programming systems and testing out mechanical doohickeys and barely ever making these into finished vehicles.. I see now that the skill cliff that is getting into Stormworks is probably also what keeps these sort of players out and I guess it is secretly a good thing.
As a brick rigs veteran who discovered the game back in 2016 and bought during late 2017, everything you said still holds up to this day. I haven't played in a long time, and even then the more "official" roleplay servers that require discord aren't as good either, they're a step up to legit anarchy often experienced but you'll find a bunch of up-tight kids there too. I wasn't even active in the official server, just active in the roleplay scene on discord and oh boy I look back at the 1.4k hours which a lot of that was from playing both official and unofficial roleplay servers, I left a bad review out of spite a while ago which I cringe at nowadays as it reflects an angsty teenager that isn't who I am anymore. I had met nice people and friended some builders but overall left and my presence has long since been forgotten (I wasn't that big too begin with, never tried to establish myself outside of roleplaying and sometimes casual talk with others). I was also apart of the problem as well being an teenager at this time, which relatively older than most of the people, still young enough to inhibit more immature behavior. Let's just say, some of these "mentally gifted" individuals within the community when I participated made me look like a saint in comparison. And I participated in raids on public servers to crash them with lag machines and etc with others in organized groups to do so, I have many screenshots on my old HDD of me spawning massive (let's just say phallic) objects onto the city and etc, so I by no means was good but atleast I had slowly learned over time to not be an annoying double-faced brat. I had left sometime during 2020 when progress of the game seemingly stagnated for so long that there had been no real reason to play.
Brick rigs is my childhood to me, I’ve never even played it, just watched TH-camrs play it, and it made my childhood so much better and shaped my life.
i actually do enjoy some brick rigs content, i dont actively search for it but it does put a smile on my face. i mean i really enjoy watching any game where the person builds shit in always fun to watch imo. even if they're not the best at it (its how i got into crossout that, regretfully)

Honestly what I do when hosting servers is to make it password locked and put the password in the description. Stupid people will try to join, realize it's 'locked' and then move on to a diff server. Sometimes they learn the alphabet and enter the password but it works like 74% of the time
I've played this game since 2017, and ever since the beginning, when the game looked completely different and I never saw this coming of it, I saw it being infested by 9 year olds. By now I've invested way too much into this game, and I think I need to give something back. For a very long time I've aspired to make Machinima style videos from this game, a couple of which died during the process of me trying, but I should really just make one.
I used to watch brick rigs when I was like 9, Downloaded the game because of him. I'm older now and I tried to run a working server. Kids would join and spam "L" nuking the city, disabling explosions does nothing. Six year old scream irl after they spawn lag machine as if we cant delete them. Absurdly stupid. I say we all join servers and troll 6yo`s playing this game. They cant even take an insult.
This actually isnt so bad anymore because most of the people who used to watch this content have grown up, me included. I used to watch that type of content a couple years ago and it's what inspired me to get the game in the first place. Now I'm building trophy trucks with intricate and realistic suspension systems and being able to use them in public servers as well. It's a step up from the usual sandbox game and that's what makes it unique.

Being the owner of several RP servers and hosting countless public servers, there’s always garbage. When i did public servers for my newest server we’d have anywhere from 2 to 10 staff incidents, like unrealistic vehicles, a truck full of pieces, tanks, etc.
i used to watch camodo and actually started playing brick rigs and stormworks largely because of him. his content used to be actually pretty good but then he got into the decline that many other youtubers seem to go into and ended up here :/
I had the game because of Camodo gaming at the time it was 2017 i still feel as if the game has not improved nor changed with in those 5 years. Its still a funny Lego game, people are still trying to act "historical" or "serious", and there isn't really a good multiplayer aspect to it. I just think its time to "grow up" and play a better game.

I have to agree. Every time I try to join a server for some “roleplay” It’s either empty, filled with lag or people destroying things. It’s a Shame really.
I'll fix this. I saw the game and I fell in love with it. That's why I'm here to learn more about the game, and it's a real shame to learn that the community is no good. I'm a content creator as well, and maybe if I'm able to get popular enough I can probably fix this games community, because it deserves to be known as what it's meant to be.
To stop little rats you just add whitelist cars and stuff disable explosions and gmode ofc and a low limmit on the spawns with despawning times (works the best kids get off the match them)
For a long time, I was bored of this game with all those kids playing and ruining it, then I came across a guy called STRemontataur who gave me the feeling that this game is not as cancer as I thought... with his help I discovered a part of the community that was wayy more mature and kind. I also meet litchytsu and a buch of other builders. Nowdays I have more than 670 hours on this game and I joined a team of builders called STRindustrie and we are a big part of the workshop (in terms of technology). For tue case 9f camodo, even if he is the biggest youtuber of brick rigs, his content is kid based and he is showing the wrong side of this beautiful game and this is pretty sad...

issue is though that any well made, high quality brick rigs video is never going to get as much views as another lazily put together compilation because most of the playerbase is already made up of kids which the second option appeals to more sure its fine if the videos are just made for fun but I dont see it as an appealing strategy for most content creators
Yeah I subbed back when he was still somewhat small. I watched his brick rigs videos when I was 12-13. I’m 17, I still watch him occasionally if he has a video that peaks my interest, but yeah, the quality has kinda dropped
Sometimes there is good servers, but rarely. Sometimes I get kicked out for no reason out of a server. I mostly play single player. But sometimes it’s kind of fun playing on multiplayer since you can make your own server and run it and actually make it good.
While I just got the game bc of watching Camodo gaming for about 3 or 4 years now... Honestly I love the roll play servers bc I played Roblox when rp was a huge thing in the game, so I kinda grew up loving rp games, so when I finally found an amazing rp server on BR earlier this morning man I had some fun. You know take a truck and make it look like a tank to scare the crap out of the host. Then I just have to explain to them how it's a non functioning tank.

This is 100% legit. One time I joined a drag race server and if you have seen an NHRA race, you would know it’s 2 cars in both lanes at a time. Let’s just say all the little jimmys there decided to put like 4 cars in both lanes at a time. Host did nothing about it. MAKE AND MAINTAIN A PROPER SERVER PLEASE.
Finally we have other people playing this game other than the monopoly of camodo, spy, etc. (nothing against them, it’s just they over saturated the game)

Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems like the community is hating on Camodo for bringing kids into the game, when it's literally a lego game. What 8 year old wouldn't want to play a game where they can have unlimited amounts of lego bricks and do whatever they desire? I just don't get why the whole community is so opposed to these kids. If they are annoying you in multiplayer, go play a private match with your friends or by yourself. I genuinely don't understand the problem with the games' target demographic playing it.

I'm not sure how to feel about this, on one end you have the toxic people being angry at the children just because they aren't that good. And then there is the children who think they're good and bring this up on themselves. I honestly just join public servers looking for a good war. But the kids do ruin the experience a lot of the time.
exactly matching my opinion. i feel exactly the same about this game. its a super fun and funny game with friends but that fact is overshadowed by the fact that its filled with small children. its the best game i ever had i keep coming back to it for some reason. its sad not to see these pvp modes being in use. it would drive the devs to make more competitive content. Yes its a sandbox game. Yes it doesnt have to be battlefield but in all of my 6 years on this game i have only played like 4 times on pvp maps (conquest, cap the flag-) with a reasonable ammount of players. Yes theres zombie mode, thats fun but get 8 people spawning their own cars and you have a smooth 20-30 fps. the building is absolutely amazing in this game i love the fact that you can take stuff from the workshop and just modify it however you want. the game has so much potentional its sad to see it being ruined.

I also gotta admit I loved to watch camodo gaming when I was younger, though the crungy stuff he made 3 years ago made me cringe but the games with his pals which I love still tot his day entertain me for the majority of my early childhood.

True, at least Camodo looks at a lot of the creative stuff that the builders make and is generally enjoying the game itself as a sandbox while OB feels like you lose braincells everytime he's in a video.

TBH I wanted to play this as a more laid back alternative to Stormworks where everything I build I end up spending multiple IRL days programming systems and testing out mechanical doohickeys and barely ever making these into finished vehicles..
I see now that the skill cliff that is getting into Stormworks is probably also what keeps these sort of players out and I guess it is secretly a good thing.

As a brick rigs veteran who discovered the game back in 2016 and bought during late 2017, everything you said still holds up to this day. I haven't played in a long time, and even then the more "official" roleplay servers that require discord aren't as good either, they're a step up to legit anarchy often experienced but you'll find a bunch of up-tight kids there too. I wasn't even active in the official server, just active in the roleplay scene on discord and oh boy I look back at the 1.4k hours which a lot of that was from playing both official and unofficial roleplay servers, I left a bad review out of spite a while ago which I cringe at nowadays as it reflects an angsty teenager that isn't who I am anymore. I had met nice people and friended some builders but overall left and my presence has long since been forgotten (I wasn't that big too begin with, never tried to establish myself outside of roleplaying and sometimes casual talk with others). I was also apart of the problem as well being an teenager at this time, which relatively older than most of the people, still young enough to inhibit more immature behavior. Let's just say, some of these "mentally gifted" individuals within the community when I participated made me look like a saint in comparison. And I participated in raids on public servers to crash them with lag machines and etc with others in organized groups to do so, I have many screenshots on my old HDD of me spawning massive (let's just say phallic) objects onto the city and etc, so I by no means was good but atleast I had slowly learned over time to not be an annoying double-faced brat. I had left sometime during 2020 when progress of the game seemingly stagnated for so long that there had been no real reason to play.

Honestly what I do when hosting servers is to make it password locked and put the password in the description. Stupid people will try to join, realize it's 'locked' and then move on to a diff server. Sometimes they learn the alphabet and enter the password but it works like 74% of the time
I've played this game since 2017, and ever since the beginning, when the game looked completely different and I never saw this coming of it, I saw it being infested by 9 year olds.
By now I've invested way too much into this game, and I think I need to give something back. For a very long time I've aspired to make Machinima style videos from this game, a couple of which died during the process of me trying, but I should really just make one.

I used to watch brick rigs when I was like 9, Downloaded the game because of him. I'm older now and I tried to run a working server. Kids would join and spam "L" nuking the city, disabling explosions does nothing. Six year old scream irl after they spawn lag machine as if we cant delete them. Absurdly stupid. I say we all join servers and troll 6yo`s playing this game. They cant even take an insult.

This actually isnt so bad anymore because most of the people who used to watch this content have grown up, me included. I used to watch that type of content a couple years ago and it's what inspired me to get the game in the first place. Now I'm building trophy trucks with intricate and realistic suspension systems and being able to use them in public servers as well. It's a step up from the usual sandbox game and that's what makes it unique.

Being the owner of several RP servers and hosting countless public servers, there’s always garbage. When i did public servers for my newest server we’d have anywhere from 2 to 10 staff incidents, like unrealistic vehicles, a truck full of pieces, tanks, etc.
i used to watch camodo and actually started playing brick rigs and stormworks largely because of him. his content used to be actually pretty good but then he got into the decline that many other youtubers seem to go into and ended up here :/

Being a veteran of this game (since 2018), you just get used to the chaos of the City RP servers. Heck, I even troll some who are poorly run.
I had the game because of Camodo gaming at the time it was 2017 i still feel as if the game has not improved nor changed with in those 5 years. Its still a funny Lego game, people are still trying to act "historical" or "serious", and there isn't really a good multiplayer aspect to it. I just think its time to "grow up" and play a better game.

I have to agree. Every time I try to join a server for some “roleplay” It’s either empty, filled with lag or people destroying things. It’s a Shame really.
I'll fix this. I saw the game and I fell in love with it. That's why I'm here to learn more about the game, and it's a real shame to learn that the community is no good. I'm a content creator as well, and maybe if I'm able to get popular enough I can probably fix this games community, because it deserves to be known as what it's meant to be.

To stop little rats you just add whitelist cars and stuff disable explosions and gmode ofc and a low limmit on the spawns with despawning times (works the best kids get off the match them)
I can't believe it's taken this long for somone to finally acknowledge this saying what I EXACTLY been saying.
For a long time, I was bored of this game with all those kids playing and ruining it, then I came across a guy called STRemontataur who gave me the feeling that this game is not as cancer as I thought... with his help I discovered a part of the community that was wayy more mature and kind. I also meet litchytsu and a buch of other builders. Nowdays I have more than 670 hours on this game and I joined a team of builders called STRindustrie and we are a big part of the workshop (in terms of technology).
For tue case 9f camodo, even if he is the biggest youtuber of brick rigs, his content is kid based and he is showing the wrong side of this beautiful game and this is pretty sad...

Sometimes there is good servers, but rarely. Sometimes I get kicked out for no reason out of a server. I mostly play single player. But sometimes it’s kind of fun playing on multiplayer since you can make your own server and run it and actually make it good.

While I just got the game bc of watching Camodo gaming for about 3 or 4 years now... Honestly I love the roll play servers bc I played Roblox when rp was a huge thing in the game, so I kinda grew up loving rp games, so when I finally found an amazing rp server on BR earlier this morning man I had some fun. You know take a truck and make it look like a tank to scare the crap out of the host. Then I just have to explain to them how it's a non functioning tank.

Damn, I just discovered this game today and was thinking about buying it, but now I'm not too sure. All i want is for a cool game where i can build cool things with others.
This is 100% legit. One time I joined a drag race server and if you have seen an NHRA race, you would know it’s 2 cars in both lanes at a time. Let’s just say all the little jimmys there decided to put like 4 cars in both lanes at a time. Host did nothing about it. MAKE AND MAINTAIN A PROPER SERVER PLEASE.
Finally we have other people playing this game other than the monopoly of camodo, spy, etc. (nothing against them, it’s just they over saturated the game)

Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems like the community is hating on Camodo for bringing kids into the game, when it's literally a lego game. What 8 year old wouldn't want to play a game where they can have unlimited amounts of lego bricks and do whatever they desire? I just don't get why the whole community is so opposed to these kids. If they are annoying you in multiplayer, go play a private match with your friends or by yourself. I genuinely don't understand the problem with the games' target demographic playing it.
