For a guy who's spent 26 years on his own in a jungle full of deadly creatures he's kept a surprisingly firm grip on his sanity as well as his memory of his life before being sucked into Jumanji.
The acting by Robin Williams is absolutely incredible. You can tell Alan is suffering from PTSD-like symptoms because he spent most of his life (26 years) trapped in a mystical, African Jungle living amongst wild beasts and being hunted by Van Pelt and other predators. Imagine living that long in a jungle and then coming back to civilization and not knowing what you’ll find.
I'd like to think that while in the game world you've got unlimited lives. Because Let's face it dropped off alone, no gear or anything your average pre teen, even in the 90s, is toast within the first few hours let alone years. So the way he knows of all the dangers is because he himself has died to them
He's also wearing his watch around his neck. Would make sense for him to retain as much of his old life as he could through the items he took into the game with him
I think Alan might have had PTSD. I can't imagine what being trapped in a mystical, African Jungle for two and half decades does to someone, especially a kid.
@@andytaba7429 I wonder how it was "re-growing" up after beating the game. Surely he and Sarah would've worked it out on their own, and made a pact never to talk about it with anyone, even psychologists. If Peter hadn't rolled a 5 with the dice it was over for Allan and he would have die inside the Jumanji world; because Peter and and Judy couldn''t keep playing since it was Sarah's turn and they would not have had the faintest idea

The board game is a very powerful reality warper, it probably altered the outcome of its players actions so it never ends up stuck. Peter rolling a double most likely wasn't luck or chance, it was intentional.
I don’t know what sort of a rock you live under but movies are still great and have been since their inception. If you go to the supermarket and have a selection of 1000s of items of food and you choose to buy the more expensive candy bars over a salad than that’s your problem brother.

Jumanji is rigged. Know how I know? Cause of the roll that freed Alan. The game knew the players needed Alan to roll so it would have released him no matter what number they rolled.
given the phrasing of the message in the Jungle you must wait, I think the game would have just skipped his turn until it said 5 or 8...the two kids would have been MEGA screwed however since they don't know about Sarah or how she was involved in the game afterall they needed Alan to have told them about her
Peter rolled a double right before it was Sarah's turn, forcing the boy to roll the die again. A player neither the kids had any knowledge of. Yeah, the game will bend reality until it gets what it wants.
@@sargon6000 that does MAKE PERFECT Sense when you REALLY THINK DEEP about it. after all, the game is Not only magic, im PRETTY Sure the Game is also Alive. Like it senses When its played, it senses cheaters and Punishes them and it WANTS to be Played.

Someone needs to make a parody of this movie where all the players have guns. Scott from Kentucky Ballistics needs to be in it since he has every safari rifle under the sun.
I never understood in this... like if my friend got sucked in, I'd try to save them, not be a selfish dirtbag like Sara was. But with that said, if they DIDN'T get sucked in, and we just had monkeys or a lion come out, I'd be like "uh yeah, this can't be good, lets stop" I can drop the animals myself (guns) if they don't like spawn right on top of me. Once they leave, meh, police will clean them up in a matter of hours. Why would I keep playing and risk injury/death? Jumanji would need some rule like if start, you have to finish within X time or your heart explodes, or something.
I feel ya, I’d probably do the same thing. But it is worth mentioning that the creatures inhabiting Jumanji were purposely designed to have exaggerated features to show their uncanny and supernatural nature. The jungle inside is a literal nightmare and many of these unnatural animals seem to be quite durable, if not unkillable (hence why Van Pelt wasn’t injured at all by getting crushed by an aisle of paint cans-something that would’ve flattened ANY regular human). The entire towns police department got overrun by monkeys and a random stampede, which is why the other officers were calling for the national guard over Carls radio. It’s established in the movie that finishing the game is the only way to make these supernatural creatures and strange occurrences disappear. Though the main characters were able to kill some plants and spiders so this may only apply to the larger animals🤷🏾♂️
@@ambassadorbruh1200 Fair enough.
