It’s funny how you never realize the authenticity in movies you loved as a child. As kids, we saw Alan running away from Van Pelt because he was being hunted. But as adults, we see a man running away from his biggest fear. A great life lesson this movie teaches is to always face what you’re afraid of because if you don’t, it’ll hold you back from growing as a person. Alan’s biggest fear was his father’s displeasure and criticism. Alan’s father always told him to face his fears because he was being bullied. One thing to note is that the Jumanji game draws its characters from the minds of the players. Van Pelt took the place of Alan’s father, which also explains why they’re both played by the same actor (Jonathan Hyde). You also gotta know that Alan was in the jungle for 26 years and was being hunted every day by Van Pelt which is symbolic of him running away from his father but in another reality. We also see Alan explain to Sarah that Van Pelt sees everything about Alan as being offensive which is symbolic to how his father felt after he found out (in his mind) Alan ran away. It’s only up until Alan finally decides he’s had enough of running that he decides to face his fears. Another attention to detail is while Alan is telling Van Pelt that he’s not afraid, the dice keeps rolling which signifies that Alan’s fate rested upon his choice to either face his fears or keep running. He was given a second chance to make things right. The dice only stops when Alan acknowledges his father’s teachings which shows that he’s fully matured from his mistakes. The writing is picture perfect because it sends a great message about facing your fears.
@@katsasgeorgepretty sure she was just passed out. This was a kids movie after all. Besides, if she was dead, wouldn’t Peter have shown more emotion than mild concern?
Sounds like whatever you two are on is giving you a horrible high. There is no other jumanji movies and they certainly don't have the rock in it of all people.
You must be like 10 years old to say that................... Your still a kid............M BABY SHIT PANTS..................... GET REAL....M LOOK AT UR PFP TOO LMFAOOOOO...... WATCH MORE MOVIES......... YOU CAN DO BETTER.......... GOD BLESS......
We've seen eldritch abominations as monsters, as planets, as viruses or metaphors for madness. I don't think I've ever seen one disguised as a board game or in the case of the series, an entire plane of reality. Also, say what you will about Jumanji, it's true to its word. It took back every consequence that its gameplay brought to the world. The entire town went to ruin because Parish lost his son. All of the town's history got affected by Alan getting sucked into the game so Jumanji rectified that.

The most powerful aspect of The Jumanji game board is it can apparently reset time, something I didn't fully grasp as a kid. Alan better put all of his money into Microsoft
Van Pelt and Samuel Parrish are the same person Allan's worst fear Think about It... Jumanji IS not only a game... IS the Game that make you feel like a creature...
Same actor, different character. It’s similar to how the same actor plays James Darling and Captain James Hook in Peter Pan musicals. Part of the theme of how the character is afraid of their father’s disapproval.
The end of the game will always give me goosebumps when all the animals go back in the game and Van Pelt head on the game It not fair You lucky son of Went back to the game Classic my kids will love this when I watch it as a kid and I love it it my childhood
Inside the title , there’s a man in Jumanji . The curse is being scared of growing up , this antidote is conquering fears from its powers , that’s how you become a man and a lot less than a child .

You finish The. Game. Right now please. You Face Youers Fear 😨. Please ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
We can see Van Pelt and Elephants, Rhinoceroes, Monkeys, Zebras and a lion are being sucked into the game. But we can't see the bats, spiders, flowers, crocodiles and mosquitoes.

Rest In Peace Robin Williams the one of greatest comedians and actors in history.
When he hugs his dad 😢
Even as a child, this scene made me realize Judy was the MVP of this movie. She carried everyone on her back and died trying to protect them...
Judy didn’t die.
@@jeliop1 she does but after alan wons jumaji the game rewinds up everything that happens before he and sarah started to play in 1969.
@@jeliop1 The barbs were poisonous. She absolutely did.

(Looks in mirror)
"AAAAHHHHHH!"
😂
Still the best Jumanji. 💕🇿🇦
the One and only Jumanji movie
the rest of Dwayne Johnson movies are just awful....
Sounds like whatever you two are on is giving you a horrible high. There is no other jumanji movies and they certainly don't have the rock in it of all people.
Makes me tear up as an adult.
I love how for Van Pelt his experience of being sucked into the board game was way more traumatic than for Alan
I never noticed Van Pelt has a gold tooth. That's a nice touch
i loved this movie as a kid and i still love it till this day and time

Time travel into Oro valley place in Tucson Arizona AZ feel like
It's a great movie and in the next one they had a link to this movie show up
Alan was given a second chance. To make everything right. And he did. And got the happy ending he deserved.

5:06 (Gasps) Alan, you won. :)
This brings back great childhood memories.
Fun fact: Van Pelt and Allen’s Dad were played by the same person Jonathan Hyde.
Jonathan Hyde
the one & ONLY Jumanji movie, without Robin Williams it's not Jumanji.
1:26, trying to get some sleep in here!
Love this movie!
The one thing kind of lost in this was how much Alan's father really loved him. He lost his fortune and eventually his life searching for his son.
That how you defeat Van Pelt,
Facing your fears.
(& being one lucky bastard with the dice)
You dont go waaa for nothing 😂

Lion be like: Sup?
When Peter broke the fourth wall lol. Deadpool vibes
Breaking the fourth wall vibes.
A thousand times better than anything the rock did.

At least the game is a good sport. You go through hell but if you win you'll get a fresh start.
I cannot believe that their aunt was played by Lilith Sternin and I didn't realize until 20 years later.
3:00 How on earth did they get away with killing a kid in a family film?
We don't see her really dying.
She didn't die. Later she was casted for Spiderman.

The end of the game will always give me goosebumps when all the animals go back in the game and Van Pelt head on the game
It not fair
You lucky son of
Went back to the game
Classic my kids will love this when
I watch it as a kid and I love it it my childhood
God imagine having to relive ur childhood. Worst nightmare of all
He gets to live it as a rich kid this time not in the jungle, running for his life everyday. I'd take that.
Strongly depends on the childhood.
reliving your childhood is having a second chance- avoid all the mistakes you made
Reliving it but knowing more now than you knew then.
A very heartbreaking production.
Too dark & sad.

I will, thank you.
That gun wasn't part of the game.
No but it was a part of a series of events that happened because of Jumanji so it got back to it's place. At least that's my theory 😅
The whole timeline got erased. Who cares about gun.
It’s an extension of the Van Pelt character. Even if it’s not his original gun it’s still a part of him.
It's a direct consequence of the game. Like the town's history.
I didn't see the crocodiles, pelicans or tarantulas get sucked back in the game.
