And before you say it’s bc they’re buying things meant for poor people, please realize that thrift stores send millions of items to our local landfills each year…there is enough to go around for everyone. Reselling is a job in itself, it’s a lot of work to clean the items, take good pictures, carefully package the items, etc…not to mention the gas and effort you put into looking for these items. People who buy from resellers usually like the convenience of ordering these items online instead of spending time to look for it themselves. I think you need to ask yourself whether your train of thought comes from jealousy. You think a reseller just purchases something from a thrift store and walks outside and sells it for twice the price to some random person. It takes time and effort just like every other job.
Not all resellers are horrible I'm saying that as a friend of a reseller her and her mom have a code of ethics. Their policy is no more than two items of a certain type at a time. So if they see a bunch of medium shirts that are really good to resell the only grabbed two of them. They still make plenty of money with that code of ethics and they're still good stuff for other people as well
I work at a thrift store and I can tell you that even if this story is fake I see similar ones play out all too often. Story time for something that happened recently: Recently a guy, who I’ve always had a bad gut feeling about, has started harassing one of our regular customers because she resells. While some resellers (or vultures because they stock us as we bring out new stuff) are asses this lady and her friend are not. They do follow us but they let us do our job and stay out of the way. The thing I like most about them is that they actually repair things and make them new before selling them at their own store. The two also go to garage sales and other thrift stores to find things to salvage, so they aren’t always at our store. This guy hates these ladies though. He’s begun jumping over furniture to get to things before one of the girls can to take it’s ticket (you can remove tickets on heavy items to bring to the front for checkout) and waited for them to leave before returning the tickets. When called out for his bs he started insulting the lady and later went on to complain to us employees. This all made me upset but when I found out he was also harassing them at their business I got pissed. The manager was informed of all this and I haven’t seen him in a while which is good. I’ve got plenty of stories but this one happened recently and still pisses me off. Sorry for the long read
I'm a bit of a reseller, but I'm not rude about it. I don't push people out of the way and take stuff out of peoples' hands. I'm courteous and let others have at the stuff too.
Personally nta bcs if im shopping and see people act like that I'd be haha lol no and if not take my time even more slowly and besides they were being rude trying to snatch a shirt out of ops hand and was harassing him
I work at a thrift store, now that resellers have become so popular I need to check items online and look at tags for what things are made of so people stop buying so much for so cheap just to resell it, I honestly hate it and really enjoyed finding really good quality items and selling them for cheap because someone who needs it has the option to buy it, some people really need and deserve those clothes and resellers are just ruining it.
Ohhh, my dislike for resellers is real. I'm very knowledgeable about dolls. They can walk right pass any doll section but then I start looking. Sometimes talking to my mom about one or even Google lens some to learn more about them. The moment I walk away they pick up every doll I touched.
I shop at the DI (Deseret Industries) all the time. Most of the clothes I own are from there. Plus trying to find shoes in my size (11 in womans) is very hard.
Ok I get that they wanted to make money but you don't have to be a jerk about it and sometime people use the thrift stores for their clothes I did when I was younger and my family was poor
Personally nta bcs if im shopping and see people act like that I'd be haha lol no and if not take my time even more slowly and besides they were being rude trying snatch it out of his hand and harassing him not cool
I don't resell, but I'll usually look around, find something cute and look it up and find out its a good/high quality item and be more likely to get it. Not Nike or anything like that, but like good toys, nice picture frames, etc.
@@SofSof25nope, just don’t like greedy people that have a genuine victim/hero mentality that post online to be praised by literal children. A simple rephrase to “I hate resellers and this is how I got back” would be a lot less annoying than trying to make people think you were ridiculed for simply shopping at a thrift store. That’s all.
Resellers are some of the worst people out there
Explain how?

I hope that this is fake, but some humans are genuinely trashy when there's money to be made.

I shop thrift and see it all the time.
We need to make thrift store reselling a crime I think
I'd call them vultures, but vultures at least have manners.
I got a leather jacket that fits me perfectly for $12 when it’s real cost was $85 (90% of my wardrobe is from goodwill lol)

90% of my wardrobe is from Goodwill I don't resale anything , its disgusting ppl taking things away from ppl who cant afford new clothes
That's unhinged. Trying to snatch something out of your hands like that is assault. Also, they were harassing this person.
