    Useful video! Thanks! 3CX is nice, but now we've switched to Thirdlane, which is really good too.

    Looks like an awesome service Dave! I assume you can connect with your team worldwide with it being in the cloud and using the app? Thanks again

      Absolutely, if you call on your internal cloud PBX you're never using an outside line. 👌

    How to get DID (Direct Inward Dialing) phone number for each extention ...? Do we need to buy at Amazon Chime and pay per minutes for each DID number?

  • @DarrinRich
    @DarrinRich 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Looks good. I tried a few different services before like Line2, Grasshopper and now using OpenPhone which I really like. But if I ever have time to tinker, I wouldn't mind messing with this.

    • @dave-swift
      @dave-swift  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks Darrin. OpenPhone looks really nice, but I really like how 3CX prices based on simultaneous calls, not users. This could make things ~10x more affordable. 👍

    • @DarrinRich
      @DarrinRich 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@dave-swift scaling it does look like 3cx can save a lot as users grow. OpenPhone you do have to pay $5 a month more per number/user.

    so if i got this correct service 3CX is free ( up to 10 users) yet i have to pay for amazon chime ( for minutes use ? ) Thank you

    • @dave-swift
      @dave-swift  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, 3CX does have a free plan.
      To get all of the features I mention in the video you'd need the Pro hosted plan, which is $295/year for 4 simultaneous calls.
      Amazon Ring or whatever SIP trunk you choose would have their own fees but they are very low.

      Thanks for the comment. I’ll see if I can make this happen with some support from 3CX :) I don’t actually have a physical phone ATM. I assume that’s what you mean, like a SIP handset?

    On the 3CX website, The 3CX SMB pricing mentions " Any number of Deskphones". does this mean Unlimited number of IP desk phones?
    Also another question, with reference to the current plans on the 3CX website, how many IP desk phones can I assign per extension on the 3CX cloud SMB, and 3CX cloud PRO plans? Thank you.

      Hey thanks for the question, I'm not sure about any limitations. I would check with 3CX directly to be certain.

    so my question is, if you’re setting up this system, can you have multiple inbound phone numbers so that customers in different countries can make a local call to the same PDX hosted by 3CX? what I’m trying to achieve is a way to call clients and then have them call me back using a local number if possible. I only have two countries that I need those local calls to happen. Or if I have an 800 number, what range of countries with that apply to?

    • @dave-swift
      @dave-swift  6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes, you can definitely set up multiple inbound phone numbers with 3CX PBX Hosted systems to achieve what you're looking for. This feature is called Direct Inward Dialing (DID) or Multiple Inbound Numbers. Here's how it works:
      1. Local numbers: You can purchase local phone numbers (DIDs) in different countries through your SIP trunk provider. These numbers can then be configured in your 3CX system. This allows customers in different countries to call a local number, which then connects to your centralized system.
      2. Call routing: You can set up rules in 3CX to route these calls based on the incoming number, time of day, or other criteria to the appropriate extension or department.
      3. Outbound caller ID: When calling clients, you can set 3CX to display the local number for that country as the caller ID, making it easier for clients to call back on a familiar, local number.
      For your specific case with two countries, you would simply need to obtain local numbers for each of those countries from your SIP provider and configure them in your 3CX system.
      Regarding the 800 number:
      Toll-free numbers typically have a specific country or region coverage. A US 800 number, for example, is usually only toll-free for callers within the US and sometimes Canada. For international coverage, you would need to look into International Toll Free Service (ITFS) numbers, which can provide toll-free access from multiple countries. The exact range of countries would depend on the specific service you choose.
      Remember to check with your SIP trunk provider or 3CX reseller about the availability and costs of local numbers in your target countries, as well as international toll-free options if you decide to go that route. They can guide you on the best options for your specific needs and help you set up these numbers to work with your 3CX system.

    how did you get the AWS trunk in 3cx? at 8:25 it shows the list of countries...this is what mine looks like. Later at 10:05 you return to 3cx and the form is for AWS. I cannot get this to show up, and none of the country selections have this setup. Can't get it to work no matter what I put into the fields. I'm missing whatever happened between 8:25 and 10:05.

    • @dave-swift
      @dave-swift  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Once you put in your outbound host name in the registrar/server field, you should be good to go. This is demonstrated at 10:33. Did you try that?

    • @mvonpalmer
      @mvonpalmer 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@dave-swift thanks. I tried that but it seems to stay at the original provider details from where you start the process. I've tried starting from different sip trunk providers but they all appear to be the same and none of them align with the chime parameters. I'll keep trying and hopefully someone at 3cx will respond but their documents say it's an undocumented provider ....even though it's listed on their site....strange

    Brother how to get SIP trunk for 10 extns.and how much its cost

    • @dave-swift
      @dave-swift  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey @dangri8238, you just need one line, like i setup in the video. Then use the digital receptionist to help people route their calls.
      How much it costs will depend on which provider you choose, but they're all very reasonable, like the prices I mentioned in the video.

      Our business phone system is hosted/provided by our internet provider.
      Would this replace or work together with my existing phone system?

    The features are great, but the support staff is rude. I don't know if its just the way their culture is?? But, mainly they say it should work, you did something wrong, and or, they way to did it is not supported. or, "Follow the documentation".
    Also, its not a true Cloud system. You have to have either a on-premise Session Border Controller or a specific phone they call router phone. If that phone goes offline or the SBC, your phones are now offline. Where as other platforms you can use any phones and no need for an on-premise session border controller,(some would argue, you might as well have the system on premise). Again features and system are great. But good luck with their support staff and the fact that you need a SBC is a big negative in my opinion.
