Star Citizen aims to span multiple video game types by combining space trading, space combat and shooter elements, in a first person massively multiplayer online game. In October of 2012, Chris Roberts, the creator of the wing commander series, launched a Kickstarter Campaign whose goal was to create the seamless persistent universe and the narrative player experience squadron 42. The project continues to break Guinness Records through incredible community support. Despite the technical hurdles, CIG demonstrates tangible results and continues to prove to its backers that the impossible is becoming possible. The scope and scale of the game increased as more funding was pledged, which became known as feature creep. Most accept that delays, although frustrating, do result in obvious progress. The player backers are given early access to the current live version of the game code, to test and offer feedback. The player experience changes from enjoyable to frustrating and back again, sometimes day by day. Star Citizen can be enjoyed, and take a break when it suits you. Numerous content creators cover the ongoing situation to keep you informed and up to day. As an early backer and tester, you need to be ready for its quirks but you can also witness the game evolve.
I am a FAN of the game and not affiliated with CIG. My opinions are my own. Contact me for business opportunities, corrections or retractions. Operated by Noobifier Media INC. CDN-120508161

I remember starting a thread on spectrum years ago, suggesting that CIG team up with someone to do this... It went over as well as things on spectrum normally do, and received tons of negative "feedback", and naysaying. I am so glad that somebody is finally doing it, even if it is in super limited numbers.

    Wicked!
As a modeler myself this looks like something I'd like to order...
    Limited number....not seen the prices.
I have currently built about 50 WW2 tanks, assault guns, tank destroyers and a few specialty items such as Leopold railroad gun and Thor 600mm mobile mortar.
(My collection is mostly 1/72 with half a dozen 1/35)
Visited The Tank Museum at Bovington, Dorset with my wife ten years ago, it was great to see some of these brutes for real. Even my wife thought it was a great experience. Helped that we timed the visit when the mock battles were on and running tanks were rumbling around.
If only there were somewhere to see life-size ships from Star Citizen..... sigh...

Had just finished showing my 3 yr old grandson a couple of model kits I had stuffed up in the closet for the last 20 yrs. He was mightily impressed, it was hard explaining we were going to need new consumables to replace those long since expired. Now we'll have a Freelancer to build too :)

  • @christianmaheu

Hey, good job and if I may add my 2 cents, I'd suggest adding a wash to the panel lines of the kit (light grey for the dark-colored areas and dark grey for the light-colored areas). this will add some much needs detailing and will make your build come to life, and as I always say, "The wash will fix it"!

Tamiya paints eh? I see you too are a man of culture... Lol couldn't resist.
Weathering wise. Get some weathering powder and washes. (you can make weathering powder pretty cheap by smashing up some earthtone pastels).
I find they can recover the worst mistakes. Plus you can use one of the lighter shades to fix the darkness.
Oil washes are pretty useful too. you can get a lot more precise with them over standard washes.

sorry to disapoint but that's not really high quality for our standars. Actually, anyone with some knowledge and a SLS printer could achive such details, as profesional grade printings have almost invisible layer patterns, and I see tons of them in that model. Shipping with the supports still attached means no post process and says very little about JrFabrication.

@@VonSpud you are smart buying everything in game. However, there must be a fear of server resets. But if they ever do reset, it’ll give you plenty to do. Which brings up a valid point against the “pay to win” argument.
You will have something to work up to when the game resets and/or releases. Something to look forward to getting.
People who already own their dream ships won’t have all that to look forward to. So who really wins here? When I think about it like this, kinda makes me regret purchasing the ships that I have.

Sorry Noobifier.... the working hundredths of hours on the stl's and being superior to everything we could make is just bs. They print on on conventional SLA printers, everyone can get those and they actually are pretty cheap for what they can do (300-500$). I, as a hobbyist, prepped (basically remodelled/copied the model for 3d Prints) a pisces and an arrow in under 20 hours each. Someone truthly skilled can do that even quicker. We did the math and would be profitable even at just around 40$ for a 1/100 scale model of one of those and thats here in Germany. Excluding fancy packing and liscensing costs i admit, but there is a long way to go to reach the 140 smth for a jrdf one. Those prices are kind of a scam.
