I couldnt believe my eyes when i saw this video. I had tried several chemicals and nothing worked. I tried with a 3200 psi pressure washer and WOW, IT WORKED. Saved me a paint job on the front of my motorhome. Thank for taking the time to share the video.
Mine was 10 years old and it took me over 40 hours of solvent, plastic scrapers and hair dryer. Then more solvent, scrubbing and cleaner wax. I feel your pain.....
I just want to say THANK YOU so much! I wanted to share pictures with you, but I was able to remove it from the hood of my car with the pressure washer and then a little bit of Dissolve it. All done in under 2 hrs. This is the best video and it works! I have pictures I"d love to share.
Going to use 6inch chip guard tape lower part fenders on 99 Honda prelude sh. Didn't realize after time get nasty mess if not removed ,thanks for explaining great video .
Dude you are awesome, even more awesome for posting this on a crafting channel! Just bought an old civic and I assume the bra is as old as the 18 year old car, gonna try this!
Please let me know how it works out for you! I hope it works well and saves you all the pain of other removal methods. Reminder: As the water blasts off the old plastic film, the water seems to reactivate the adhesive and those blasted-off tiny pieces are gonna stick on other nearby objects ... like nearby cars, so make sure you are well clear from them.
Looks like from all the videos on the 3M clear stuff being put on so many different vehicles, there should be a big lawsuit against both 3M and the vehicle companies using it. BIG lawsuit.
Ours is 20 years old(2003) and ours comes off varily easily with harbor freight plastic scrapers (chisels) and a Wagner 915e steamer(wallpaper steamer). Don't ever use metal razor blades. Plastic blades are ok but not metal. You need to watch "the Ugly shield removal channel". He has multiple videos on how to do this for the different types of films and none of them involve a 3000 psi pressure washer. You're lucky you didn't blow some of your paint off. I think you did this maybe before he posted his videos.
Don't go too much above this guy's recommended 3000 psi.......a pal of mine wanted to get some work done really quick on his back stucco/block wall and rented an 8000 psi washer: it completely destroyed the concrete and stucco and almost killed him in the process! (sorry, no video). Use only recommended pressure.
Been Automotive Detailing for years, You could have used a Heat-gun to take off the film and Goo-be-Gone, plus Bug-n-Tar Removal solvents to remove the glue residue.
Yes mrpmj00, the stronger & harsher the glue removal product the quicker & faster the glue is removed ... but ... the greater chances of damaging the clear coat paint. I found "Goo Gone" worked well & required some 'elbow grease' & repeat applications. I also tried "Auto Tech Adhesive Remover" and "Xylene" which worked faster. I didn't experience any Clear Coat damage from these products because I used soapy water to clean the products off quickly, but I believe they can cause damage if left on the paint too long. I did have some Clear Coat Paint damage in some areas where I tried to over use the Water Pressure Washer to remove the film & remove the glue too. Just use enough of the Pressure Washer to get the 3M film off, then use glue removal products to get off the adhesive.
Doc Zed he said he already tried that...He said that he did it like 10yrs ago....Back in those days they used different adhesive backings...Much stronger!!!

And that really works. I have the same problem with my RV.

Don’t be afraid! Film Technology has come a long way.
Marty Zaborski Just don't be an idiot about it.
good job. I am about to tackle my 2009 american eagle.
So obvious question, the pressure washer never damaged the paint?

OMG.. 3M PPF DID THIS? 10yrs long the film was on car but still this horror wasn't expected
ATG suggests to use the heated pressure washer, but heated model is not cheap.
2K minimum regular pressure washer should work. It just take longer.

That's actually kinda funny, but sorry that happened
That was cool! Tfs, Debbie
You never leave clear bra or any vinyl wrap on a car 10 years!! Once you see it get brown its time to remove it.
as manufaturer gives 10 year warantie, i dont care and if it start yellowing i go to detailer and let it replace for free because of waranty
Old wrap its Hard to remove, you can use Hot water preasure gun to remove its Little more easy to remove, good luck 👍nice Chanel

Oh I tried your recommendations....to no avail

Wouldn't Goo Gone and harsh products remove the clear coat?
