    Shit from 283 stock to 296 with intake that's over 10hp which helps!

      It was actually 293 max whp and 320 for max w torque which is actually really good

    That's a whole bunch cheaper than an exhaust kit that probably gets an additional 5-10 hp. This was very helpful. I can't see why I paid $5 grand or whatever it was more for a Hemi I can't hear. A little more sound and hp would make my '14 GC a little more fun to drive.

    That's pretty much what K&N claims to gain on the box. Good to know they aren't full of it.

    Depends on your relationship with your Dealer. Or you can re-install your stk. air box, t takes all of 15 minutes.

    I'm old (54) and have been a hot rodder since 16. I've got a 19 Limited with the Hemi and I've used some K&N products in the past with good results. I have some questions concerning my Jeep. What is the point of the 4" piece of foam at 45 degree angle to engine that's in front of the snorkel intake? It looks like just a part blocking air from getting a straight shot in. Also the rubber flap that's glued and pinned to the hood on that side, it covers the air opening from the grill area partially. I understand that the Limited is a semi-luxury vehicle so they have to keep it quiet, although, my wife and kids love the exhaust sound in the higher revs. It just baffles me they left 10 hp on the table as the intake looks restrictive as all heck. It has to be about water getting in there but really if you have that much water, you have a bigger problem.

    Dyno results are on a Mustang Dyno. Typically the Mustang dyno reads lower than a dynojet.

    • @malamri424
      @malamri424 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Michael Plummer i thought it was the other way around (dynojet reads lower). At any rate great video.

  • @malamri424
    @malamri424 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The thing is, when you're actually driving the car the hood would be closed, and you would be intaking "not so much cold" air... So what you're seeing at the dyno may not be what you get on the road.

    • @almtyscuzzy
      @almtyscuzzy  6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Car isn't moving on the dyno so you don't get the benefit of air moving hence the reason why your hood stays open. When the car is moving you are getting a ton more volume of air moving in the engine bay. I have another video on here showing IATs driving around on a 90 degree day. In that video, air entering the engine isn't that hot.

    They're supposed to be rated at 360??

    • @almtyscuzzy
      @almtyscuzzy  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      At the engine, it's rated at 360HP, but there are losses due to the drivetrain and transmission.

    Did you notice any mpg difference at all?

    • @almtyscuzzy
      @almtyscuzzy  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No mpg increase and there shouldn't be. More airflow equates to more power. More power, less fuel economy. Granted this is only at WOT. Under normal driving conditions, there is no mpg increases either.

    How do you stop the grand cherokee from applying the brake to what it must think is a spinning wheel... what 4wd mode do you do the test in

    • @almtyscuzzy
      @almtyscuzzy  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The dyno is a load bearing dyno, so a load is being applied so the Jeep thinks it's on the road.

    • @jonh2408
      @jonh2408 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Michael Plummer cool.... were you just in auto 4x4 mode?

    • @almtyscuzzy
      @almtyscuzzy  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes

    • @almtyscuzzy
      @almtyscuzzy  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oops, we dynoed in 4th gear I believe

  • @adamsdailydriveway
    @adamsdailydriveway 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I also hate the mustang dyno, Hp is much lower, so say a car shows up at 390hp on mustang dyno, on another dyno it would be more closer to 415-425.

    • @almtyscuzzy
      @almtyscuzzy  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's lower because it applies a load to the rollers where a Dynojet doesn't. On any dyno, if you use the SAE correction you'll be able to compare dyno numbers at what the industry calls non-standard locations basically any location that's not Detroit.

      ant sala k&n does void warranty. anything but factory parts can potentially void it

    • @Bimmerphile1

      You are wrong. Look up the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act makes it illegal for companies to void your warranty or deny coverage under the warranty simply because you used an aftermarket part.

      Recently I went to my local Jeep Dealership for warranty work with K&N CAI installed and they said nothing to me about the CAI kit. Work was done under warranty and I had no issues.
