I love this episode for these key scenes: The next scene, when Michael says his mini speech to Ryan about ‘A good manager doesn’t fire people, he hires and inspires people. People, Ryan. And people will never go out of business.’ Might just be one of his wisest moments on the show. It demonstrates that he really does understand his business and understands what it takes to be a manager. This is also shown later on when both him and Jim are co managers, it’s clear that Michael is more of a leader and people-person than Jim. And of course, the art show scene near the end of the episode is key because it shows Michael’s truly good heart. I feel like the writers really started to nail Michael’s characters during these episodes, by giving him this much more depth.

I love it when after Michael explains the overestimation of the value of computers, and that real business is done in paper, he tells them to "write them down" at 3:00, but they're typing at their laptops!

In all honesty one of the best scenes in the whole show I think this is a good way to sum up Michael in 5 mins Not only that but I have a strange feeling 10 years down in history we’ll look back at this clip and say how right he was even in the real world

What always gets me about this scene is just how much Ryan threw him under the bus. Like the first question he got - Michael would probably have no control over that. It’s corporate’s job to come up with the strategy, not a regional manager.
The fact he loves dunder mifflin so much and is so enthusiastic always defending the paper industry says alot about how amazing he is Paper ruined in the furnace was the best scene of the show

I just noticed this and this is such clever writing. At 2:54 Michael says that all that stuff about paper being important and says "write that down" and then the camera shows everyone typing away on their laptops.
I love the look of impending doom on Ryan's face as Michael makes his presentation. He knows that Michael is going to screw up like he always does and it will affect his grade. Also, when he stormed out he left his boombox, so he will have to go back and get it.
