@@abderrahmanedif Many lawyer jokes are about lawyers being terrible people, so the only reason a lawyer would like them is if he didn't get them - Michael's train of thought
13:28 and at that exact moment, Michael realised that Wallace in fact did not get it. He still thinks the reason Michael was upset and why he drove all the way to New York is because he cancelled the party (and the figs) without telling him and not because he deserves to be treated with more respect after 15 years at DM. He felt that there's no point in talking sense into Wallace anymore because of Charles and the fact that he's constantly tried to avoid him for the entire day and he quits. Throughout the run of the show Michael was always portrayed as a goofball and immature. But when he got it right, goodness did he got it very right. And this is one of those moments. He's had it with being the butt of the joke and did the right thing.
It's a fascinating thought, if Michael was a less lonely individual in his personal life, then he would have a lot more moments of clarity like this and when he got Pam to try again after MSPC's horrid first day
"You have no idea how high i can fly" These are words that lets you know about the true *Michael Scott*. One of the most successful managers ever in Dunder Mifflin
I think Wallace did genuinely like him though. Look at when they read his deposition when Jan was suing them. He tried his best to defend Michael even when he wasn't in the room for it.
Honestly, this show almost works better as unrelated bite sized office segments. It's more like what it's like working in an office, one weird out of context event every few days or so
Daryls move was incredibly smart in that regard. He realized Michael is a lonely guy who seeks social attention and admiration from normal people, so he used the group to hype Michael up to a point where he couldn't go back without looking like the bad guy, which Michael ultimately feared. He wanted the groups sympathy and he got it, but for what cost
**You have no idea how high I can fly** That was a jaw-dropping moment for me when the episode first aired on TV. What a great scene to end this compilation on ❤️
The way David talks to Michael when telling him they're firing Jan was so.... surprisingly wholesome, he lowered his tone and put a little bass in it, like he knows its going to hurt Michael so he wants to put it in the best way possible for him..
I think these scenes are so important. The Office tends to kind of romanticize corporate and work culture; sure, it's boring, but there are good friends and memories, and you can make a living off it that is sufficient to pursue your happiness. These scenes are important to remind us that not every boss is a Michael Scott, who cares about us on a personal level, they are perfectly willing to fire you on a moment's notice, and will rarely acknowledge your contribution, if ever. No one is indispensable, everyone is expendable.
Maybe it’s time to choose better employers instead of those who see their employees as objects to be used. Thankfully, you can choose who you work for.
@@lonefaolan6042 Well, you're paid to do your job. Why should they care about your feelings? You don't like it, then quit. The feeling of entitlement is strong with this lazy generation.

It was pretty dumb of corporate to start micro-managing their one profitable branch. They came to regret it when they lost clients to the MSPC, but even before that, they should have stuck to the mantra "don't fix what ain't broke".
It was the Golden Ticket idea fiasco that caused David to hire Charles. That was when David’s patience ran out. But yes, hindsight...should’ve had hindsight.
The whole exchange between Michael and Jan during the unionizing bit is severely underrated. Michael's "We have a history" line is perfectly executed. All of it, really.
I’ve been looking for a comment on that scene 😭 everything from Jan’s expressions (esp at Michael saying “let’s be rational here”) to Michael grasping at whatever straw he could find to escape her wrath destroyed me.
I can't imagine how many takes it took Pam to keep a straight face, when Michael turned to her and said "can I help you?" And then when Michael's feelings are hurt after Jan delivers the "what do you think... The.... Pros.... Are.... Here??? The scene is perfect
My favorite part between david and scott is the simple interaction of "What could we be doing better?" "I've never been a big fan of the name Dunder Mifflin." And davids face to the response just makes me laugh.
“That doesn’t seem right to me. That doesn’t seem fair, and I think that I’ve earned more than that.” Did anyone else’s heart break when he said that? ☹️

David Wallace is the kind of boss I want to work for. Never cruel, never cowardly, always fair. Unlike Activision who just fired a bunch of employees and gave their CEOs a bonus.
its always in those little moments where Michael gets serious and just surprises every one. that he's not as dumb as every one thinks , and i think thats how the character is supposed to be played as. having some one under estimate him , and then you bring it out when its needed.
Michael sits down at the table trying to talk to Jan. Pam does literally nothing Michael: Caan I help you? This is so random and it gets me every time hahha
I love how Michael supports his team and has their back. He doesn't want any of them to get fired. The scene at the beginning with Dwight is a prime example 😂😂

People never seemed to understand that Michael wasn't just complaining about him loosing his 15th anniversary party. He quit because he realized he was being treated as a child. He wanted the respect he deserved from David and nothing else. The fact that David tried to calm him down by only giving him his party was what made Michael finally realize
That and Charles was put in his position to micromanage Michael, and take away whatever power he once had at his branch. Michael probably said it best when he said they thrive without accountability.
bro a party is meant to be loose
Michael acts like a child, so why is he supprised to be treated like one? David was 100% in the right there.
@@harroldinab Because he was the best salesman the company ever saw and his branch consistently had the best numbers. Because despite the fact that he acts like a child all of his best employees would all agree he's the best boss they've ever had. I love when he looks out the window and says "The city...", Unnecessary, dramatic and beautiful. Comedic gold.
The reason that Michael quits at the end is because David missed the whole point of why Michael was upset. It wasn't about the party, it was about the way he was being treated for which David never apologized.
Michael quit because David wouldn't demote or fire Charles just because he didn't get along with him.
He was acting like a spoiled child who wasn't getting his way , and likely expected David to try to stop him and beg him to come back.
He's somewhat good at his job , yet he's also extremely unprofessional in many areas of his job...the way he treated Pam alone was classic sexual harrassment and pretty much everyone working with Michael had numerous complaints about how he treated them.
U have no idea how high he can fly
@@phan643I agree he's a bad person but he quit because he was tired of being treated like a child, and it was a very mature thing to do. An uncharacteristically mature thing, sure, but definitely mature. He saw that David didn't actually respect him or feel remorse for the way he was treating him, just saw him as a child for whom the easiest way to make him shut up was to give him what he wanted.

FALSE. It was Michael who got the nod, as in permission to say 'That's what she said'.
