You played the song beautifully. I wish Mitsuda did the whole soundtrack for Sea of Stars though. Eric W. Brown's arrangements are just okay. His songs don't quite capture the essence of Mitsuda's style for this Chrono Trigger homage.
That’s because Eric wasn’t trying to capture Mitsuda’s style. If anything, it was the other way around. In the interview he did for Sabotage when he announced he was going to be a guest composer, Mitsuda said that he respects Eric and the work he did for The Messenger, which a good chunk of Sea of Stars’s OST is comprised of callbacks to The Messenger’s OST since they take place in the same world, and the OST helps connect the two games in addition to the setting and narrative.
@@Rexaura888 Linking it to The Messenger doesn't make any of the tracks better. It's my opinion that I don't like his style. Most of his tracks are forgettable at best. Maybe one or two inoffensive or serviceable tracks. If I had my way, Mitsuda would do the whole OST.
