Car Horn Fix - Peugeot 307

- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 27 ก.ย. 2024
- If the horn on your Peugeot 307 (2001 to 2008 model) is only working intermittently or not working at all, it could be a problem with the earth wire from the back of the airbag unit. WARNING: Attempt this fix at your own risk. Working on or near the airbag unit could be very dangerous so use extreme caution !. If you’re in any doubt, take the vehicle to a Peugeot dealer or garage to have the problem diagnosed. Disconnect the battery at least 30 minutes before you start, to disable the airbag system. Do not disconnect the airbag connectors and do not probe the airbag terminals or connectors with a test meter as this could risk triggering the airbag. Thanks for watching. Why have I only just found your youtube channel? I have been hornless for 4 years with this car - I have a month off work and loads of stuff to do to the car now, thanks to you! Magic.
Thank you :)
How have you managed to get through 4 years worth of MOT tests without the horn working?
My mother drives this car and had the same problem! I followed your video exactly. And it actually worked straight away! I thank you so much! Who knows how long it would have taken a mechanic to find this problem. Saved nerves and money, thanks to you!👍👍
You're very welcome, thanks for watching !
@@screwsnutsandbolts greetings from Germany! 🤝
Nice informative tutorial with no aggressive background music. Thanks!
You're very welcome. Thanks for watching ! :)
Awesome !!!!! electrician asked me 70 euros to fix the horn. Done in 5 minutes . Many thanks.
You're very welcome, thanks for watching !
Thank you so much for the Amazing tutorial! The mechanic I went to said the problem was probably a broken spiral or something like that and it would cost like 800€ for the spare part and the work needed. Watched your video and followed the instructions and now my horn works again! And it it was completely free! Such a simple fix and it took almost no time at all.
You're very welcome, thanks for watching !
Worked a treat for me this thank you! That said, the copper connector needed sanding but the wire for me was snapped off it! Thankfully, soldering the wire to the connector worked 👌
Well done 👍
No annoying background music was nice, but, the silence made it seem like the airbag was gonna go off any moment and it was just building up the suspense the entire video

Shout-out to this tutorial, this is marvelous! I didn't had horn for 2 years, mechanics don't want to deal with this because they can't charge this, it's a small thing but you are my savior, thanks to the moon and back!
You're very welcome, thanks for watching !
Brilliant video, I’ve just bought a 307sw and the horn wasn’t working (had a fresh MOT!!!), n/s wheel arch liner was loose so someone had obviously checked the horn and fuse box then given up. Took me 10 minutes after watching your video to fix it, would never have known this was the problem.👍
You're very welcome, thanks for watching !
The garage servicing my 2003 Pug Partner couldn't fix the horn for it's MOT. Nervously followed your video. (Cleaned up the contact instead of screwing it in). Horn works. Cheers! 👍
You're very welcome, glad you got it sorted 👍
Thanks to this video I fixed my car horn without paying a mechanic!! Thank you sir!!
You're welcome, thanks for watching :)
Thank you, great video, very well presented. I have a 2009 Berlingo with this problem, I have to hit the horn area hard a few times to get the horn to start working. It will work after that for a day or so then stop working again. I've been wanting to take off the steering cover to take a look at what is going on but I have been apprehensive about the air bag. I will give this a go using your instructions, hopefully it will go straight forward. Further note, I had a garage try to fix this a few years back, and they replaced the squib stating it was faulty, but the problem remained. A couple hundred quid down the drain using the garage.
Dziś zrobiłem tak jak w przedstawionym filmie i klakson działa 💪👍
Very good 👍
Worked like a charm.
Cant believe I was hornless for years due simple contact issue...
Good thing I did not listen to advice from service when the issue first came up, to replace com2000.
Thanks for watching ! :)

Muy bueno gracias por el video, lo voy a hacer ahora. Por favor put some oil in the crankcase!!
Thanks !. The oil level is good but the oil level sensor is faulty. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't :)
Just for your info some Peugeots have 2 torx srcews behind the steering wheel accessible through the small holes, no clamp in there!!! Looks to me that all with the horn function in the handle have those trorx screws holding the airbag in the steering-wheel . In fact those wheels look similar to this one, but the top of the airbag/steering-wheel is different. the airbag module (cover) bends over the steering-weel top in this model but those whit the screws have a foam like rubber that is part of the steering-wheel and a more flat airbag module, also minor wiring differences. My model has only 1 connector (orange) going from the spring clock behind the steering wheel towards the airbag module and no wires for the horn of course. You can damage this connector/wiring while poking in these holes trying to find the clamp!
Thanks for the info. I did state in the description that this fix is for the 2001-2008 peugeot 307 model only
So informative , thank you so much
You're very welcome !
Top marks, one excellent video
Thank you !
Muchas gracias amigo solucione mi problema de bocina
You're very welcome 👍
Great stuff mine is now working a treat , thanks 😊
You're very welcome, glad it helped ! :)
Thanks for the video! I did it according to you and it only helped when I put the airback back in and plugged in the battery so I was driving a click in the steering wheel whenever I passed the center of the steering wheel, don't you know what it could be?
You're welcome. It sounds like the sound could be coming from the clock spring: th-cam.com/video/KaaJrfeV918/w-d-xo.html

@@screwsnutsandbolts Actually I admit I watched it 3 times, I'm a bit slow like that but hey I did it, after cleaning I added a piece of wood jammed in between the spade clip to force its sides outward, now i have a very strong contact.
Thank You I couldn't have done it without you.
@@themilktrayman7369 Well done ! :)
Fixed ! , it was a bit hard to remove the connector , my 307sw is second hand and the connector had a screw insert it !, probably the last owner or his mechanic put it in there ! ... anyhow now is working , thanks

Hello my brother. Please why i should reconnect the battery with door driver open and switch on the ignition outside the car please. I have this problem in my car. And im scary
It's just a precaution, in case the airbag deploys when the power is reconnected.
Thanks and its cool but i hate videos where they dont talk to ya.
is this similar on a 2004 Peugeot 406? or is there a big difference from the 307?
I haven't worked on a 406 so I can't be sure, sorry.
thank you verycvery very very much 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Thanks you merci !!!

worked for me! 🙂
Thanks for watching !
Buen vídeo me sirvió de mucho y volvió a funcionar mi claxon
Great video. Just a question : why is your Airbag light still on ? It's not supposed to stay on afaik
The airbag light was already on before I started. That was a different issue
Work perfect but I have a AIRBAG signal after that. How I can fix that ?
Thank you so much .
Can you show us how to change the cigaret ligther ???
It's a lot of work. You have to take off the lower center part of the front fascia and then remove the center console, which involves disconnecting a passenger airbag sensor. To be honest, it would be easier to quit smoking ! :)
@@screwsnutsandbolts thanks you
Thank you!👍
You're welcome 👍
esta bien esplicado para llegar a desmontar,ok
Thank you !
Thank you.
You're welcome :)
You are a genius... man.... does the wireless tape cause the car alarm to malfunction...???
I don't think it could affect the car alarm
My 107 horn keeps going. Could it be the relais of the claxon or just replace steeringwheel because of the spring inside might be broken?
It sounds more like an issue where you push the horn
😅Thank you very much my hooter wasn't working l did exactly what you did my hooter is working
You're welcome ! :)
May this fix work on a peugeot partner year 2006 aswell ?
It may be different but I'm not sure as I haven't worked on a Partner, sorry
Thanks
You're welcome :)
hello, first of all, thanks for the video, my car is citroen xsara, the horn works in the off position, but it does not work in the open position, I would appreciate it if you could help me.
You're welcome. I haven't come across that problem to be honest. I'm not sure why that could be happening, sorry
@@screwsnutsandbolts ok thanks
Thanks
Same think for peugeot 208 ???
No it's probably different in a 208
My car horn a 208 sometimes work sometimes not.
I don't know what to do to fix it
There is no earth wire in 208 horn
me ha funcionado muchas gracias,👍

My 3008 gt is having same issue
Can I go ahead like this
I haven't worked on a 3008 so I don't know to be honest. It could be very different to this car
Gracias, ya funciona. Un saludo

Gracias por el tutotial

Is it the same on peugeot 206 2005?
No the horn isn't earthed the same way on the 206. You can see that in this video: th-cam.com/video/21RJgeatr0Q/w-d-xo.html
Harika sonuç thank you 👍😃

them damn steering wheel connectors to steering wheel horn slide off the steering wheel connector light molasses and worn out pantyhoses
lol
Oil level is low :)
It's actually the oil level sensor. One minute it says it's full and the next time it says low !. It was the same with the Berlingo I used to own :)
@@screwsnutsandbolts yes. I have peugeot partner. And i believe in manual control of level.
Yes, it depends on the inclination of the ground. But sometimes it displays wrong even when on level ground. Today it was showing me I don't have oil at all when in fact it is at max level. 😅
@@deiu9999 Same here :)
@@deiu9999 Better it's not the other way around 😂
oil 0.....
thank you ❤
You're welcome !
Epic! Had a dry few hours this afternoon and followed this advice, and what do you know... I have a horn again!! The white airbag wires were little tighter than in your video, so I basically used masking tape to tape the airbag to the upper wheel to give me hands free access to the wire and connection. Worked a treat. Horn now working after 4 years! Not once has it been tested on an MOT... so I consider myself lucky! Thank you, you're an absolute star! 2003 307 SW 110 HDI.
You're very welcome ! :)
This fix worked for me. The bit was getting the centre/horn button bit off. I found putting it back in reverse order helped, ie side clips first then bottom clip last
5:15 Bro, you should check oil level 😉
The oil level was actually fine. The oil level sensor is faulty. Sometimes the display shows it's full and sometimes low :)
Very Big thanks from France and Algéria, 👍👍👍
