No sense in putting this off any more. 1) When Justin Fields called out hos Own Coaches publicly, we all knew _he_ was not gonna get support from his team.
Poles & Eberflus were pretending otherwise & All The Fans went along with this. I can't be the only one who thinks it's suspicious that a GM who thought Fields had Any Chance of making it in the NFL didn't investigate into something about a coach sabotaging said QB when trading him based upon said sabotage could end his career. Or if Eberflus wasn't himself the saboteur, why didn't _he_ look into this?
So right then we All Knew Poles & Eberflus weren't even going to _try_ to make things work with Fields. However, this meant they were Intentionally Tanking. & that made people uncomfortable.
So everyone but me apparently went into denial over this.
Now I'm gonna work backwards. 2) The reason Fields finally called them out was starting week 5 of '22 I think they asked/ordered him to Not Throw to certain receivers on certain plays. I know that everyone watching games knew of this because the Fields haters made up the following justification: "the Bears _HAD TO_ do this in order to simplify the offense because Fields can't read defenses."
    3) Brett Kollmann proved otherwise with stats th-cam.com/video/QuhUbISnr8s/w-d-xo.html before Fields even took a snap in the NFL but not only would I expect a very low % of NFL fans to know this, let's face it: asking your QB to stop mid-scramble or mid-throw to read a receiver's jersey before throwing the ball is *core complicated* than throwing to anyone in your team colors who is open.
So the haters invented a brand new lie to cover for this. Remember, "he can't read defenses" was reiterated to excuse what they _knew and said was_ a coaching decision for Fields' own good, right? They "had to do this" (call for him to not throw to receivers sometimes) to simplify the offense for him, causing him to have to hang onto the ball. So of course the next invented lie was "he hangs onto the ball too long." They _knew_ he had to due to coaches' orders.
Whether intentionally or not, they came up with the Perfect Lie. There's no denying he did hang onto the ball when receivers were open starting week 5 of '22.
So, so far we have the first two myths about Fields busted. But wait, isn't there MORE we can say about the play-calling? Again, I seem to be the only person who noticed that the Designed QB Rushes weren't the only different plays called weeks 8-10 of that year.
So people who were wondering if play-calling & roster were affecting him got their answer. Those weeks _proved_ it! But because this confirmed that Eberflus was working against him, especially when they went Right Back to calling the plays that failed *before* this streak, people wrote this off as a fluke.
It's human nature to go into Group Denial. When we hear people saying things we _KNOW_ are wrong, people decide to side with what they know is wrong because the fear is _stronger_ when The Issue Goes Unmentioned. Media didn't ask Fields any follow-up questions when he called out his coaches & they stopped annoying Eberflus with any ever again.
Eventually even analysts were talking about Eberflus' charisma. They 100% "forgot" about those weeks of trying to shut reporters up with chop-wave motions of his arm looking like he was threatening he would spank them like an Angry Dad if they didn't shut up. But *I remember **_ALL_** of this.*
I'm not done yet but whoo-ee this was long.
