Hello Eve, nice video, but I just have to add some information:
The "Bundesrepublik Deutschland" was founded in 1949; this is the "new" Germany and didn't exist in WW2 (which ended in 1945). The armed forces of this "new" Germany are called "Bundeswehr" (founded in 1956), which is often shortened to "BUND".
There was a time when this style of watchband was issued by the Bundeswehr to its soldiers. It even had a supply number printed on the back! Much like the Nato-Band issued by the British. Don't think it is issued anymore, as every german soldier that I know uses his personal (private) watch during duty. I think the concept of issuing duty watches to soldiers of the german forces " died" somewhere in the 1970ies or 80ies, and so the need for a standardized BUND watchband.
    Greetings from Germany!

My dad gifted to me his 80's watch that he used in his 20's and it's a really good loocking classy gold watch, in fact, the watch was made for formal reunions or to werar it using a suit but i always liked the look of the bund straps, so i put one on the watch abd fits really fucking well, it mix the class of formal formal situations with the tough and cool look of the bund straps, to this day i never take it off of my wrist haha, always my dad say "your idea was so fucking crazy kid, but it worked as i've never imagined before". It looks lik the little brother of the brad pitt's watch from once upon a time in hollywood by the way.

Apparently, some folks have the impression that you have to be a motorcycle-riding, racecar-driving movie star to wear a bund strap. Well I'm here to tell you that my name is not Paul Newman nor is it Steve McQueen. It's not Steve Newman, Paul McQueen, or Peve NicQueen.
No. My name is Saul McNuisance, slightly below average guy extraordinaire, who was in a grade school play once and who's ex complained every night that I wasn't "racing the toaster". Still haven't figured that one out. Or the buzzing after I fell asleep. Weird.
I wear a bund strap when I'm working. In the summer it helps keep the hot watch from getting too uncomfortable on my sensitive skin (and the tan line is really cool!). In the winter I can put the watch over my coat and it won't sink in and make it hard to read with my foggy glasses.
Now I just need to get a moped and life will be perfect.

I've always been a fan of bunds! I used to make them myself from old leather belts! Another style you can find is a complete cuff of leather that doesn't have a strap but two instead has 2 thin leather loops on the top that attach to the spring bars... They can get very thick but I still love them !

There is a fun fact: in one of my all time favorite TV show there is a character who wears a bigger watch on bund strap (or it is very much looks like a bund strap). The show is the British-French series 'Death in Paradise' and the character is Police Officer Dwayne Myers (played by British actor Danny John-Jules), and he is a very cool guy. I strongly advise to watch the series, it has a very great athmosphere (the whole Caribbean feeling).

4:33 There's one more thing with this tip. There's a men's rule on wearing suits (which is also good for womens): "Leather with leather, metal with metal."
We know the leather part for sure.
Metal on metal follows the same rule with leather, if you're wearing a silver buckle you wear a silver watch, gold buckle with gold watch, etc.

Many early types of bundstraps where used out of necessity, before WW1 men had pocket watches and women had wristlets (wrist watches). When WW1 came many pocket watches where converted to wrist watches by soldering on wire lugs and moving the Dail so the winder is on the right.
Also watches where made mostly of silver, plated brass and at the worst blued steel so sweat would damage it.
The ww2 bundstraps where made to be worn over your jacket or even the bombadiers ankle.
The B uhr watches in ww2 where huge many mens watches where around 28 to 36mm at the time, a 38mm would have been considered a big watch back then.
I do like smaller sized watches and would never buy a watch over 41 or 42mm depending how it wears.
I prefer leather in the winter and steel in the summer, I prefer the French elastic parachute style straps over NATO straps and always try to buy 2 price straps as they can really make it alot thicker.

I love a bund on the right watch. I mean Brad Pitt and that bullhead on the brown bund? I'm a straight guy and still though it it was sexy on him. I used to have this old Nixon (I think it was called the "rocker" or something cheesy) with a black leather cuff when I was a punk rock skater kid and wore it every day for probably 5 years ish It deff developed a fine...... aroma after awhile. It only ever got washed when I went swimming wearing it or didn't take it off in the shower lol. Honestly that was a solid watch. I beat the crap out of it for years and years.
