EXCELLENT tutorial Emily - what a fascinating and beautiful technique - and thank you for including actual troubleshooting footage of the drips etc. - really helps to see it not just read about it!
Thank you soo much for this tutorial! Until a few days ago, I couldn't really find a tutorial for sprinkle drips. And thanks to you, today I was able to make my first sprinkle drip cake without any problems! 😊😊
What a great, simple to follow tutorial. I especially like the troubleshooting guide, along with what the issues look like, so we can identify what's wrong. Great job, thank you!
I was ecstatic watching your tutorial, it was a real educational problem solving class. I now will be watching your videos first before attempting my projects. I wish I could give you the biggest hug, thank you a million times over. Now I'm going to binge watch your channel. xoxo Shana

Great tutorial! I prefer to just wet my fingertips on a soaked paper towel instead of dipping my finger in water. That way the sprinkles don't wet wet and bleed all over my drip/frosting :)
Thank you so much for this! ❤️ I'm just now learning how to do drips and was going to add sprinkles to my next Drip cake...thinking it was simple as "just throw them on". Lol Thanks for this! You've got a new subscriber! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Really great tutorial. Wish I had watched this before my first attempt at a drip cake lol Ran in to many of these issues and ended up having to scrape the cake down and scrap the idea of a drip cake and go with something else but now I know for next time lol
This has to be the absolute best tutorial I have seen on drop cakes! I have watched so many over last week to do my first drip cake with sprinkles this past weekend. My consistency was too thin. Thankfully it was for a cake that was used at a family dinner. I will try again very soon! Thanks for the post!

British Girl Bakes I have already requested u a tutorial on coloring buttercreams .. like how to get different shades with the primary colors itself and how to mix it properly etc.. waiting for a detailed tutorial on that..
Hi Emily, I am making a cake this weekend that is heavily sprinkle based and I was wondering if they would "bleed" into the buttercream. Also I want to store in the fridge in a cardboard cake box overnight. Will this cause bleeding and sweating to occur. How can I prevent it. Thanks so much.
Thank you for this! One question; do you want to have let the drips chill in the fridge before applying the sprinkles??... or just set naturally a bit?
Thank you so much! I got it from cakesafe (www.cakesafe.com/store#!/Icing-Scrapers/c/13473574/offset=0&sort=normal) and it's a 10" one I used for those.
Hi, when I add the titanium dioxide it results in the ganache being grainy? Any ideas? Tried blitzing it but didn't do it for too long incase it all cooled and hardened, as I think the ganache still has to be warm. Is that correct?
@@BritishGirlBakes , so kind of you to respond. I'm been baking for years but tomorrow I have my first actual order and your tutorials have been invaluable. Regarding the white, I haven't but I'll give it a try. The one I have is Sugarflair's Super White. Thanks again.x
Hi! I'm happy you like the tutorials! I have a lot of recipes on my website, www.britishgirlbakes.com. I'm sharing a tutorial on smooth frosting on Tuesday :)
I haven't had a problem using them! I wait for the ganache to cool slightly before I add them and I try not to stir any more than necessary. I do find that if I reheat the ganache, I have to do it very gently otherwise it seizes, but this happens with or without gel colours added
Gel colors are ok as long as you are coloring ganache (i.e after adding the cream to the chocolate) but if added to chocolate alone, it will make it sieze. To color chocolate you needy candy(oil based) colors.
Great tipps 😍 thank you! Do you keep the decorated cake at room temp until delivery/pick up? Or in the fridge? Can I let everything set and then put it in the fridge? Oder do I risk the drip moving further down? 😅 Thank you ❤
I put the cake in the fridge when I finish decorating, and suggest refrigerating it until 4 hours before serving. But as long as your room temperature is moderate, not too hot, the drip should not move after it sets.
I need some advice if you dont mind. If i want to cover a cake in sanding sugar, what do you recommend to do it neatly? 1-spraying a fully frosted and chilled cake with water and rolling it over the sanding sugar. 2-chilling a crumb coated cake well then put a fresh final coat of frosting before rolling the cake on the sugar? Sorry for disturbing you
lamya elsayed I would recommend the 2nd option as the sanding sugar will adhere more neatly and easily. Also using water will cause the colours in the sanding sugar to run. Hope this helps!
Wish I’d watched this BEFORE making my first sprinkle drip cake! The candy melts set too quickly and wouldn’t drip properly and then the sprinkles wouldn’t stick! Trying this technique next time!
Thank you for the tutorial. Just wondering, you are from the UK right? So why do you give your measurements in cups instead of grams? Grams are way more precise :)
Hi! Yes, I'm originally from the UK, living in California now. I agree with grams for baking but when measurements don't need to be as precise I prefer using cups - it's so much quicker! But thanks for the feedback - in future I'll try to remember to give both measurements :)
@@BritishGirlBakes aahh that makes a lot more sense haha. I would really appreciate it to have measurements in grams, thank you for taking it in into consideration :)
What I've noticed about almost all of your cakes is that they are EXTREMELY tall. Is that an aesthetic choice? Or is there another reason you make them so tall?
Hi! I choose to make them tall because the sides are more visible than the top, so I have more room to decorate. You can use any of the techniques on shorter cakes though :)
This has to be one of the best instructional videos of 2019...has to be! Thank you!
