I have a question regarding using artificial flowers on cake. I know you can wrap the stems in green flower tape or insert stems in a straw but the flower itself then ends on touching the cake. Does this create a problem as I thought anything topping or touching a cake has to be edible. I often see cake artists topping or inserting flowers on the side of cake as well. I'm a self taught baker and have a small cake business but have used buttercream flowers in the past but would like to use edible flowers or artificial as well. Would appreciate any advice. Hi Naz, these were 4 inch round cakes, which I bake in 3 inch tall cake tins :) I normally make Bakels premixes these days, and 1 kilo of Bakels premix flour (which needs all the additions, so water oil and egg) would give about 3 and a half tins worth :) I hope that helps somewhat! x
Hi Shelly! If you’re anything like me I don’t work as fast so what I would probably do is do maybe half and pop the cake back in the fridge for a few and then finish. Just an idea🤗

Thank you for your lovely comment hun :) These were plastic flowers. The stems and the greenery was plastic, and the petals were in fabric.
