      @Bacon Pancakes Rabbits have shorter ears and legs for burrowing, they live a group. Hares are loners, have longer legs and ears for running live in nest above the surface.

      Unfortunately the truth is quite dark. Her husband, Jack, was awarded joint custody, but Jill took the leverets into the bushes to avoid ‘dealing’ with Jack. During the day, she maintained the ruse, by drinking down at her local. Nature can be cruel…

    • @wip1664
      @wip1664 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think it is so that the young hare can have a clear open view to notice any hungry predator on a hunt. And hopefully make a successful escape into the woods should that be the case. Staying in the woods can make the inexperienced young hare an easy target for predators that hunt with their noses. Fortunately, hares are speedy runners and long distance jumpers.

    How lovely. We had a little baby leveret for 7 weeks whilst on Crete: we saw her hopping forlornly by the roadside, a tiny little thing, and didn't think she could survive out there alone, so scooped her up in my father's hat and took her home. Sure enough, 30 seconds later we passed a large dog padding down the mountain-side in the direction. We had lovely Mopsy for 7 weeks, allowing her freedom to roam the bottom floor of the house, with little nests of Hay in her favourite spots which she tended to rotate around during the day. She used to do binkies on my mother's bed all night long and followed my mother around the house like a little dog! We had hoped to send her to a wildlife charity for rewilding although I don't think we could have honestly done it as we loved her too much and she was a member of the family. Unfortunately she must have accidentally slipped out one day when my Mother held the door open. We didn't see it happen, and Mopsy had showed no interest in going outside previously. Perhaps the time was right, but there's not a day that goes by where I don't think about my little baby hare. She left a hare-shaped hole in my heart on the Cretan mountainside and I will never forget her. I'm hoping to put together a little commemorative page for her as we took so many videos, but it is still a bit painful.

    When the mother hare arrived to help chase away the stout from the leveret...she must have some sort of sixth sense or intuition that told her her baby was in danger, and she immediately knew to go help. What a kind, caring, beautiful mama. Humans could learn so much more about compassion from animals.

    It’s such a joy to see the rabbits with their young emerge in the spring. I’d no idea how long the little’ uns continue to nurse. Watching over morning coffee in Nashville. Cheers.

    Such a great opportunity to see the life of hare through this video, it is interesting and how the little one survived those predators, and they are everywhere.
