this really inspired me to sell my guitar
I had a small bonfire.
That implies having his talent. I'm not even close.... That's why I sell window and doors
Don't do that. Not many will ever be this good.
We don't have to be great to find joy in playing the instrument.
Nobody to impress.
Just ourselves to satisfy.
Keep at in mate, set a goal each week and smash it, if fingerpicking is what your into set yourself fingerpicking goals every week theres tonnes of material on TH-cam
You shouldn't think like that Paul McCartney couldn't play this song as good as this and he wrote it. I thought the really difficult parts were playing the fast licks whilst singing the song and the harmonics at the same time.

Absolutely astonishing on so many levels. You just played what the Beatles employed an orchestra to do and at the same time sang without a fault. Respect....
They used a string quartet, not an orchestra.
In the Beatles cut on 'Revolver,' there is no orchestra, there's just the string quartet. That's what makes this song so amazing. Yes, there are backing vocals, but....: no guitar, no bass, no drums, no piano or other keyboard. Just the vocals and the string quartet. Josh, as usual, exceeds expectations.
Aaaccckkkkktuuulllyyyy….🤓

Guitar : oooh look at all the lonely ppl
That just impossible for me
It does sound like the Guitar would "sing" but tahst just bc when we listen to a song so often the lyrics is kimda in our mind so we are used to hear the silent voice singing and then we just think the guitar is singing XDD

I'm in my 70's and I hate to sound like an echo, but that is the best version/performance of that song I've ever heard/seen. Mr. Turner you are scary good. And to think all your stuff is out there for the take is even more unbelievable! I learn so much from you!

This one and Cody Fry's version. Very different, but both are exceptionally great.
I come back to this video a few times a year just to remind myself this exist.
This is definitely the best cover anyone has ever done of this song, and it might just be the best cover of any song ever. The arrangement is so beautiful, and it's so well played and sung. Well done young man.

That was my favorite thing. In fact, he had so many variations in there to keep it vivid.

Couldn’t say it better myself! This is so beautiful
He worked hard to perform at this level.
One of the only covers that keeps the melancholy tone of the song and doesn't turn it into some overblown "epic" orchestral piece (*cough* cody fry *cough*). Absolutely beautiful.
This guy is the real deal and I love everything he does. All the best to you, plse don’t stop
I cant imagine how hard it would be to play that arrangement and sing....incredible

BRAVO !!!! That was one of the best renditions of 'Eleanor Rigby' that I have ever heard. EXCELLENT guitar work too. I especially liked the harmonic punctuations starting at 1:26.

A very *thoughtful* arrangement, which balances fidelity to the original with wonderful touches, such as the harmonics and That One Chord. Not just impressive, but wonderful.

Paul McCartney MUST watch this. AWESOME!
Thelonious Coltrane Paul could be a bit jealous about it. This guy did a terrific job.
Very nice arrangement. A Lot going on with this arrangement. High vocal range, the melody & musical timing on several beat changes. To get the effect of several instruments Mr. turner had to capture & incorporate their suggested presence. This again influences the many musical rhythmic movements & changes. Very impressive arrangements.
Excellent chords,excellent performance. Amazing.

Beautifully done orchestral reduction to guitar -- in fact, the whole performance is really quite wonderful, and I suspect The Beatles themselves would probably be impressed and delighted.
Josh, Great Job! You gave me some great pointers and inspiration when I play this piece. You put in a lot of grace notes, guitar support, throughout the song, which is really hard for most of us to do, while singing at the same time. You are quite accomplished in your music.

Do you know what Josh, I have been subscribed to you since I heard you play sultans of swing and I have been impressed by your talent ever since. I am from Liverpool and subsequently I am a huge fan of the Beatles. In all honesty I have to say that your version of Eleanor Rigby is on par if not better than the original. By the way I loved your version of me Julio down by the school yard.
watching this brought back a few fond memories , I’m from liverpool & i used to live in a small village called woolton, which you’ll recognise if you’re a beatles fan. there is a school which sits right at the top of the quarry in woolton. this is where the beetles first met way back when they where called the quarry men. this school is where i grew up and where i have so many amazing memories. we’d have a beatles day every year where we’d all dress up and sing beatles songs. right next to the school is a church called st. peter’s. In the graveyard is Eleanor’ rigbys grave. i remember after school me and my friends would run through the church grounds trying to find the headstone with her name written on it. watching this video brought back some really beautiful memories I had forgotten about. i remember the one time we learnt about the meaning to this song and as soon as the bell rang , me and my friends headed straight to St. peter’s church. such a lovely cover , thanks for reminding me of my childhood
