there's no definitive "right." they have different purposes. heel down typically isn't very efficient though. heel up works great. swivel is an extension of heel up, making you able to play faster and have more stamina, and also play more complex patterns. heel toe is just a double stroke. it's great for stuff that prioritzes speed. it's really just 2 hits from the effort of one
With that spring tension you better hope that beater doesn’t whip back into your foot lolol if your technique is solid you should be able to put your shoes back on and loosen the tension a bit. Will make you stronger too
anything but heel down, as it's the least efficient and uses alot of stamina. heel up works great. swivel is an extension of heel up, making you able to play faster, have more stamina and play more complex patterns. heel toe is just a double stroke, typically doesn't sound very good without triggers, as the second hit has less power. but it's great for stuff that prioritzes speed. start with heel up. you can try swivel or heel toe later on if needed
Makes it look easy peasy.
Heel toe is probably the most efficient tbh
but it sounds too soft.
@@DeluxeBomber100% depends on the genre
@@DeluxeBomber usually drummers who use that use a trigger, so they dont typically need all that much power, just efficient speed and timing
@@lunathewuffbrave claim. i'm sure you have proof for this
I like the bounce heel-toe gives to the sound, that dynamic variation
heel up and swivel are my go-to
Now that's a fast foot!!!
I can only play heel down. I feel out of control with my heel up.
Sweet sound
Thank You!
Yep. Heal down sounds better.
Heel down gang, idk how to play any other way lol

One mic half way inside the drum! :)

The swivel is disturbing
Love it
i hate people with socks
I personally suck at foot speed ! What you guys recommend amongst those 4 techniques ?

I would master heel up first as its the most powerful and easy to master (imo)
