The beauty of this movie is that both summer and tom were wrong, from tom prespective it was not listening to what she told him in the beggining and live in fantacy and ignoring the fact that she wants to be just friends with certain benifits. This movie is about my life so accurate. I was working at a company as a assistant administrative (I didn't liked my job like Tom didn't like too) but my dream is to be an architect. There I met a girl that gave me all the signs she wanted to be with me. But at the end she said that we are just friends. At last I followed my dream, leaving my last job, enrolled in a architecture university. What is stranger is that this song (sweet deposition) is my favorite song. I found this song before watching this movie. Then, when I finally watched, everything looked to be done to me
It's funny how almost everyone get this movie wrong. They either feel Tom was right or Summer was right. Clearly they missed the bench scene which is the soul of the movie. It's the moment that shows Tom realised Summer was right and Summer realised Tom was right.

I think the hate for summer shows us how people approach relationships even more than the story itself did. People look at summer almost as an antagonist who broke his heart and led him on for nothing when she’s just a normal girl, someone who was confused and unsure about her relationship with someone I think she genuinely loved. Maybe that scared her? Maybe she was afraid to fall in love? She’s just like all of us. Someone who’s afraid, someone who’s unsure. She has problems like all of us. She isn’t the regular movie girl that loves unconditionally because none of us are and that’s all summer is, human. So many of us forget that the people we love and care about in our relationships are just human. They have their own problems, own lives just as complicated and difficult as ours. But most times we refuse to see that. Because it’s easier to just blame them for what they do and forget about it. It’s easier to look at them as side characters in OUR stories when in reality they’re all people just as complex as us who are all main characters in their own stories. Next time you find someone you love try to treat them as a human being first, as friend second and a lover after that. If you truly love them you need to understand they’re someone even without you 💕💕

For me summer was a needed lesson to learn and I grew from it. Autumn became the season of my life! My reality/expectation scene happened in a college bar (we both went to udergrad together). Towards the end of the night, I looked across the bar and she was kissing some dude. My heart fell in my ass. I went to my apartment and put PM Dawn- 'I'll die without you' on repeat 😂 I moved on, but will never forget summer. I was young in college, unassuring and obsessed with her. About 17yrs went by and I curiously looked on the internet. She was still gorgeous and chasing professional athletes. I saw her mugshot on a DWI website in Florida. Oh well

I have a love/hate relationship with this movie. I love to hate it and hate to love it. Only those who have met their own "Summer" will understand the way I feel about this movie. With that said it is one of the best written and well played out movie i have ever seen.

Very moving movie. Whilst watching it I had very strange feeling - like I have seen it it sooo many times before but I could not realise exactly when... and suddenly... I realised it... Sometimes, it happens that you loose yourself whilst watching a movie... It is because you find the movie characters being similiar to yourself... Wow before even watching this movie i had many thoughts about something. I have seen many couples who were in many years long relationship and eventually they parted their ways and in a short period they married someone else. I always thought why did that happen. And started to realise maybe those who were in longer relationship were not sure abt to marry eachother. But after parting ways,they found another person which they decide to marry in a short time because they were so sure abt that partner. Wow before even watching this movie i had many thoughts about something. I have seen many couples who were in many years long relationship and eventually they parted their ways and in a short period they married someone else. I always thought why did that happen. And started to realise maybe those who were in longer relationship were not sure abt to marry eachother. But after parting ways,they found another person which they decide to marry in a short time because they were so sure abt that partner. So when i watched this movie,to my surprise this was exactly like that. Like my thoughts,wondering. I love this movie because it made us to really feel the feels.
