*LYRICS - Red Headed Stranger*
------------
A red headed stranger from Blue Rock, Montana
He rode into town one day
And under his knees was a raging black stallion
An' walkin' behind was a bay
The red headed stranger had eyes like thunder
His lips they were sad and tight
His little lost love lay asleep on the hillside
And his heart was heavy as night
Don't cross him, don't boss him
He's wild in his sorrow
He's ridin' and hidin' his pain
Don't fight him, don't spite him
Let's wait till tomorrow
And maybe he'll ride on again
A yellow haired lady looked out of her window
And watched as he passed her way
She drew back in fear at the sight of the stallion
But cast greedy eyes on the bay
How could she know that this dancing bay pony
It meant more to him than life
This was the horse that his little lost darlin'
Had ridden when she was his wife
Don't cross him, don't boss him
He's wild in his sorrow
He's ridin' and hidin' his pain
Don't fight him, don't spite him
Let's wait till tomorrow
And maybe he'll ride on again
The yellow haired lady went down to the tavern
And looked up the stranger there
He bought her a drink and he gave her some money
He just didn't seem to care
She followed him out as he saddled the stallion
And laughed as she grabbed at the bay
He shot her so quick they had no time to warn her
She never heard anyone say
Don't cross him, don't boss him
He's wild in his sorrow
He's ridin' and hidin' his pain
Don't fight him, don't spite him
Let's wait till tomorrow
And maybe he'll ride on again
The yellow haired lady was buried at sunset
The stranger went free of course
You can't hang a man for killin' a woman
Who's tryin' to steal your horse
So this is the tale of the red headed stranger
And if he should pass your way
Stay out of the path of the raging black stallion
And don't lay a hand on the bay
Don't cross him, don't boss him
He's wild in his sorrow
He's ridin' and hidin' his pain
Don't fight him, don't spite him
Let's wait till tomorrow
And maybe he'll ride on again
Don't fight him, don't spite him
Let's wait till tomorrow
And maybe he'll ride on again

I know it is shocking to believe that our heroes sometimes get overtaken at some point just as Douglas eclipsed Auldridge at one point. As always Father Time remains undefeated.
You are correct, his instincts are impeccable.
Точно! Просмотрел множество роликов прежде чем попался ролик где Эммет поет. Отличный сильный голос
y'alls music and just obvious wholesome good nature has maybe saved my life during this time of isolation!! thank you so much for what you do and please don't ever stop, doing the lords work and helping keep the sound alive!!! Thank you
This band is such a comfort to me as we go through these really crazy times in our once great nation
I still admire people playing and singing at the same time! Well done to everyone who works like that! Congratulations!
Awesome job, as usual!
100% professional lead vocal. Both fiddle solos were superb and the BG harmonies were locked in and perfectly in tune. Great job!
Julianne is getting so good at the mandolin. Love this song. Great job Emmet!
It is always a pleasure to hear The Petersens family 💓
I love hearing you all!! Thank you❤️
Great song! ... and great to hear Emmet leading again, with those great harmonies from Katie and Jules. Another fine performance all round from the Petersens, as always.
Perfect parts once again, I love that you change it around for each song because you all sound so different and yet have the same consistent talent. So each time is like a new recipe of magic 💕
Another one knocked out of the park! Emmett’s voice is gold 💛
I really love this one... especially those background vocals.
Emmett.....you are awsome.....brings back memories of my aunt Roxie listening to classical bluegrass.....havent mentioned it but my mother is from the Pine Mountains of Kentucky, the heart of Bluegrass country. You all have just reintroduced me to my true love in music.
That chord progression is sick! well done.
I watch this a lot. I just love Katie's fiddle playing. Like you I love them all. Katie is a bright, accomplished artist. Reading their bios I'm thinking -There is so much human achievement in this family. I'm so grateful to have found them and their music
Dutch/ Canadian Grew up on this music.
