- We started back our live shows this week (limited seating, limited dates, and as many health precautions as we can possibly take, of course) and we had a blast getting to share our music with a live audience again. That being said, we will not forget about you, TH-cam! And just to prove it, here is our cover of "Carolina in My Mind." Katie's voice is absolutely gorgeous on it and the setting at the stables at Dogwood Canyon seemed to fit very well.

With so many of their songs, I feel my heart warmed and my eyes a little teary. So beautiful. All of them. Indebted to some that know nothing about my existence. Thankful to God that made them all.

I'm a black man nothing but good music here, my father grew up on a farm near Vidalia Georgia ,he would listen to the local radio station which was country, the first singer he intruded to me to was Johnny Cash and flat and scug the dulling bandbjoe ,nothing move my like blue grass, it reaches my soul ,since my father past this music makes me think about good times, and the band should be on TV, I like rap and R and B but nothing is better than bluegrass and all life matter God bless you in jesus name

Before this video, I never heard of this song. What a beautiful song and a wonderful talented group of musicians. Here I am sitting with my dog singing it to him as he lays across my lap. Life is good.

@@Powertuber1000 He is a family friend, and Matt's "adopted" brother (family joke). Emmett Franz joined The Petersen band a few years ago. His father, Randy Franz, also does some sound work, etc, with the band. The Franz Family Band toured for around 20 years, similar to The Petersens. The merging of the Petersen and Franz musical talents is a gift for the world to enjoy.
The pureness in her voice is amazing. Each one of them brings something unique to the table.

Katie sings beautifully like Snow White with birds singing in the background and the horses and the trees listening. Her ability to change her voice to fit to each song is awesome. As always, impressed by their miraculous skill to adjust the volume of chorus and instruments by using a single microphone in the center. Miraculous outdoor recording. Such a peaceful and consoling sound of music, which heals us all living in the insanity of cities and of the pandemic.
Katie is my absolute favorite kind of musician. She's not thinking about anything other than how it feels to live inside that song.

Here is where you can see what sets this group apart. When Katie, Matt, and Ellen are singing and playing closely together, they ALL acknowledge and clearly appreciate each other. They pay attention to each other, they nod and smile at each other, and by their “body language,” it is obvious that they all love and respect each other. And they embrace Emmett, too. Wonderful family!

I agree. If you look their songs recorded 2017- 2018 and compare now, you'll notice the band is now mature, very well rounded. Emmett brought a huge improvment to the group. Back in 2017 they were good. Now they are a world class band

Hi Jbar,... I agree completely. She literally dances with her fiddle. On one of the “outtakes,” she plays “Taps” with a cup of coffee on her head. I think her siblings bet she couldn’t play without moving. I hope she had some money on the challenge, but probably not. Funny!

Katie's voice is a perfect match for this song. The best combination of mellow and thoughtful. Emmett has a good introduction that leads to it. The harmony is fantastic. What more can one say?

Everybody here in North Carolina loves this one! Great job, James should hire you to sing it with him. The house where James Taylor grew up in Chapel Hill was put up for sale a couple of years ago, so I brought my guitar over there during the open house. They had me set up on the back porch where James learned to play the guitar, and everybody who came by asked me to play this song. One of the best days ever.

I saw James Taylor in concert a few weeks ago and saw clips from this video in his introduction.
James Taylor is my favorite. My dad played a lot of things for me, but James Taylor stuck. I took a study abroad trip to Australia and NZ, and the last one on the bus at every stop had to sing. I sang this. You do it more than justice. Love to your family.
