Thank you Harry Sell. These are incredibly rare videos i love watching. Its something else seeing how America got around with such efficiency as compared to today.Love seeing nostalgic railroads and trolley routes throughout America caught on early films. Thanks again

Looks like a mix of Western Maryland RR, MD & PA (known as MA n PA RR) and Baltimore City Trolly /Street Cars. Wonderful Footage !

My suggestion is that you need to be more detailed about this film. Where was this filmed. How far does the film span throughout Baltimore. Identify the streets, railroads, and locations so that we can look it up in the hear and now.

Grayman Media ::: I totally agree! I’ve ridden some of these same styled cars at the Baltimore Street Car Museum. Even earlier in the Clio, I was wondering if what was shown has been a part of the Ma & Pa Railroad that ran a short distance through Catonsville.

Unique last 5 minutes shot of the interior of a street car from the late 40s and of the street bound horse & carriage

I manage the Sell collection for NRHS and there are many 8mm reels. We have some ledger books that were prepared with a list of the films. I would have to check and see what info if any there is. But..what you are watching are standard 8mm color movies of the NRHS convention which was held in Baltimore, Md., in 1948. and I think by watching the film, its self explanatory what railroad is being filmed. Basically, there were trips on Ma and Pa, Western Maryland and the Baltimore Transit System, We rely on folks like you who may be identify locations in this film, made 77 years ago. The NRHS Bulletins which were published usually have detailed articles about the conventions, If I can find an issue for late 1948, we'll see what we can do about listing locations.

When you see trolleys painted in National City Lines colors you know the end is nigh for all the trolley lines within the city and its environs. 😢

It is the Ma & Pa RR and it shows how the ROW twisted and turned

I see the mountains, but which valley is it in?
