Sell 149 Boston NRHS Convention ca 1940s

Starts right off in Washington Park. The Park theater I used to go to & later became a chapel for St. Paul's in Cranston as this sat on the city line.
I lived in Providence 1980s; the old trolley tunnel is still in use for city buses.
The film Johnny O'Clock was playing at the movie theatre. The year is 1947.
I was going to suggest that the Providence footage was post war because the person seemed to be taking note of unique places in the city with the trolleys. There was also a special emphasis on the "UER" logo. Trolleys were formally abandoned in 1948, and the trolleybus system followed in 1955.

The beginning with the movie theatre is the bus loop on the providence/Cranston line on broad st.
Palace Theatre, now a church.
Should of never have taken our trolleys 🚃

My Great Grandfather, Norman Hawkins was a Trolley Operator.
I came to providence in the 90s. what the hell happened to the trollies? I live in Florida now, and in my opinion, Rhode Island is the best state to retire and have clarity of mind, especially since the fall looks so beautiful. God, I miss Providence.
Nice video, I am 71 now and have lived in RI my entire life, sorry to say I never got to see an actual trolley run...

Amazing footage. Does anybody know what this power plant building is at 10:00? Lincoln power station? I would love to see this scene from the same angle today.
when the X game happened, I was probably the only one that rollerblade through that tunnel and went down that hill next to the tunnel. Hit the stop sign but I'm good.
I have wondered how that stop sign got the dent in it.

The moment you "believe," or, put your trust in what Jesus has done for you, God saves you and your eternal destiny in Heaven is assured. You go from spiritual death to eternal life the moment you believe.
Jesus said it this way: Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. John 5:24😀
