Bingo ..... never get into your emotional feelings..... just sit back and relax and watch every body talk and play it all the way cool ..... checkmate... wise men move in silence
Couldn't agree more my brother! 🙌
What if your enemies are more intelligent than you. I usually let my business associates talk more and they do. But now they wait for me to talk . I am not being able to understand what's going on their minds. But I am sure they are plotting something against me

He's my favourite fictional character ever period lol
"Now listen, whoever comes to you with this Barzini meeting, he's the traitor. Don't forget that."
No pop. I would never forget that
It turns out I never truly understood Vito Corleone's truce with the five families till now. This analysis was awesome.
Thanks Justin! When you dive deep into it, it really makes you appreciate the excellent writing and why the film is considered as one of the greatest of all time 🍿 🎥 Glad you enjoyed!
I give respect to vito cuz he literally built an empire from nothing 💯 while respects to michael for his aggressive expansion didn't go through the struggles that are associated with building an empire, running it and ruling it he did. Plus Vito has got that iron fist concealed with soft gloves kind of vibe. He doesn't boast about him being the don but rather focusing on the actions associated with it. DON VITO all the way.
I agree Vincent 🙌 The fact that he came from nothing adds a lot more weight to what he achieved! 💯
What about Vincent Manzini?
@@TheGoldenKnowledgeBut when we first met him, he was past his prime. Caused Luca Brandi death.
Brasi
Vito knew Barzini was the puppet master because Barzini was the only don at the meeting that had enough nerve to reprimand him in front of the other dons.
Yeah I agree 💯 He was the one that was pushing the drug policies more then anyone else
barzini was wery powerfull man....
@@TheGoldenKnowledge it was a parallel of don fanuci and farzini. "He brought about true change" in both schemes. Farnizi being a more technical and complicated approach, almost pointing out how vito had refined his power move skills. Removing emotion, playing along until it was time.
does anyone think the turk(barzinni) would have moved on vito even if sonny kept his mouth shut?
@@cacoca79 I think so, but Sonny opening his mouth gave Solozzo/Barzini more motivation.
Vito was the real puppet master.
He was above and beyond all at his game.
He really was the true don all along! 🙌
I love the theme of "conceal your intentions" through out the Godfather series. Im active enough on social media to realize people will be so rude to you just bc you took a certain stance that they couldnt stand. The more this happens, the more I realize I should be opening up like this to a trusted friend or family member rather than on IG or FB. Even if Im right in a situation, there will ALWAYS be people that see it the other way and will take it out on me, which is not chill at all and is super negative energy bruh.
Well said, and relatable
Prophetic, too, that he swore on the souls of his grandchildren. And Mary ultimately paid the price for his subtle deceit.
If u watch the deleted scene in the 1st film Michael says u swore u wouldn't break the peace but I didn't so Vito retired without breaking his word then Michael took over the family and got his revenge on the other familys for killing sonny and trying to kill him. The scene is just before the talk they have in the garden
Not to forget pregnant Appolonia dieing and Kay's miscarriage
@@swatisaini6447 Kay’s miscarriage was actually an abortion, but overall this is all still true
@@Dji5hy I think in book it's like this: she lied about it being abortion but acutely it was miscarriage
Mary lost her physical life, not necessarily her soul, from a bullet wound. What man has the power to either create or dismiss the soul of another?
Did that bullet steal Mary of her soul? I doubt it.
Do not underestimate the quiet observers. They are picking up on everything.
the thing that is brilliant and consistent between the brando/deniro portrayals is,they both make the perfect facial expressions to express their "subtle disdain" or their "subtle differences in opinions" without coming off overly disrespectful or hostile, yet still conveying how they feel thru their facial movements. it may not be as apparent im the 1st or even 2nd viewing, but once u come to understand Vito as a character and the type of man he is, iys very easy to tell whenever he disagrees with something or how he really feels in any situation where he is keeping his cards close to his chest! micheal on the other hand has a tough time hiding his distain or dissapointment. which gives any potential enemy a head up or warning on what may come in the near future.
Loved this vid. I been a fan of The Godfather series for years . Watching this is making me watch it again. Thank you for the lesson 🧠 💯
Not a problem at all man! Glad you enjoyed 🍿 The Godfather series truly is one of the most classical examples of what true cinema is really about 💯
In That Vito-Solozzo meeting scene, even Fredo was quiet & On Code with the family. The only fool that came up with dumb remarks was Sonny

Bro you are the best..this really helped me. I used to be so shallow and predictable around my friends and family, heck even with my acquaintances cause my intentions were crystal clear. This is a great lesson for me, especially the one you did with michael.

Glad you enjoyed Ronan! Vito really is an excellent example of someone we can try to aspire to think like! 💭
His acting was fine..but his speech sounded like he had a mouth full of marbles.
I love it gangsterism combined with the 48 laws

Excellent analysis. Years ago, I was upset that he agreed to distribute the drugs in the black community in only. Collateral damage at its best. He was looking at the big picture.

Vito Corleone is #1
He sure is the boss of bosses 🙌
He was very hard to read. All his enemies knew he had his own morals but they couldn’t predict his moves.

The last meeting is an analogy for the last supper. Imho.
Just finished listening to the book of power and I'm reading it. Going to relisten to it as well. Its been interesting applying it in my life
Yes, it can be said that Vito promising HE won't be the one to break the peace because he intended to groom Michael to succeed him, take revenge, and reassert the dominance of the Corleone family.
But it seems to me that Vito promised that he would keep the peace because he knew Barzini wouldn't and he was right.
Barzini began devouring the Corleone territory not only to grow in power, but to goad the Corleone family into breaking the peace. Barzini saw it as a win-win situation: If the Corleones did nothing, they look weak and Barzini grows in power. If Vito retaliates, Barzini can claim Vito's word means nothing and gets the support of the other families to wipe out the Corleones.
The fact that Barzini used traitor Tessio to set Michael up for assassination after Vito's death shows that the real peace breaker was Barzini all along.
Vito Corleone....not only tougher than everyone else, but smarter too.....that's why Don Vito IS The Godfather !!!
After clicking on two amazing Godfather videos, this is the easiest sub click of me life.

Thanks Vinz! He defo is a sick character man, I'll definitely will create a breakdown on him soon 💯
Yessir! Cant wait 🙏🏾🔥🔥🔥🔥
@The Golden Knowledge
Your point is actually also stressed out int the book.
The very reason for Vito's presence in the Little Italy, NY, US is that his father and brother openly defied Don Ciccio and obviously immediately got mowed down.
Puzio explained specifically the reason for Vito's cautious behavior in US was that the lesson he had learned back then in his childhood was never to rush himself into openly opposing anybody who's strength he was not acquainted with.
Very educational movie.. 👍🏻
Love your videos man!!! So resourceful!!!!!! Keep em coming brother!!!!!!!! 💪🏾👍🏾
Excellent point
Thanks my man!
I love these breakdowns on the goat movie of all time, the godfather. There are a number of underlying subtleties that are broken down in these passages. Yet the one obvious truth is that Vito and Michael Corleone are smarter than everyone else! Let your enemy think he has control, let him think you are weak and they will fall prey to the weakest trait of human nature, their own arrogance. It is far greater for an enemy to think you cant wage a fight, than be so afraid that they are totally prepared for battle. Let your enemy have the illusion of control then pin him to the mat with a Mongolian reversal. These subtle and obvious aspects of the godfather make it the movie by which all others are judged. Simply the best ever.
New subs! Love these kinds of videos! Keep em coming!

John Cazale as Fredo "I'm smart, I'm smart" what a powerful subplot and tragic ending. This is what made me love this film. You died too young John
Fredo go to the Airport, Fredo go to this Micky Mouse Club, Fredo Cut my toe nails jajaja
@@anamariagutierrez2019 I really related to Fredo....he was the odd one out because he wasn't criminally minded. The stress he suffered with because he despised violence. Tragic sub plot. The actor John was in a close relationship with Meryl Streep, from the Deerhunter till his passing
I've watched many videos related to the Godfather, i scrolled through a lot of comments but no one's talking about Barzini. He was Vito's smartest adversary, he orchestrated the hits on vito and sonny from the shadows, almost got Michael too and if he had been killed with appolonia, Tom Hagen would've agreed to their deal. The only mistake he made was severely underestimating Michael but even that was understandable, one of the caporegimes already snitched to his side and the Godfather was dead, there was no way for him to be aware of Michael's true convictions
Michael would have been smoked had it not been for the Don.
@@xXyasabeXx the only thing that saved the Corleone family was pure luck
Very well thought out!
Thanks Jersey! Glad you enjoyed 🙌
Vito never behaved like others in my opinion ,It seems he allowed everyone around him to be them selves while he observed
What I’m referring to as “behaving like others” is not STANDING out to where all the attention is on him…him standing out or standing up against people like Don Fannuci without any planning or thought would of easily resorted in his death 💀
Instead, exactly like you say, he quietly observed until the time was right, where he would THEN make his move from a planned and strategic place 💯
you brangeded a good video, dude. Subscribe button officially smashed.

@@TheGoldenKnowledge i appreciate it man your vids really help me I was watching earlier the iron man one and the joker being a beast in business and of course bro I’ll keep you posted if anyone comes to mind 💪🏽🔥
@@TheGoldenKnowledge actually bro can you do a killmonger one 😅if you get a chance
I think through his experience in Sicily, it molded him to develop his sense of the 38th law of power
Again another awesome post!!!!! Thanks for sharing the information!!!
Here’s another question... the Don Corleones seemed to imply that Tom Hagen was not a true war time Consigliere. What do you think were the attributes of a true wartime Consigliere?
Thanks man! Regarding a wartime consigliere, I feel as he would not be afraid to make a bold move i.e. like the orchestrating the killings of the heads of the families. I feel as they're are 3 outcomes of a war:
1) You win
2) You lose
3) You come to a compromise and negotiate peace
A good war time consigliere would understand the 3 outcomes, and understand that even though they're times to negotiate peace, there are times where you just have to crush your enemy totally
I feel as Tom would be an excellent peace negotiator, but he wouldn't feel comfortable pulling the trigger and crush the enemy into non-existence...that's why he wouldn't make a good war time consigliere in my opinion...let me know what you think!
@@TheGoldenKnowledge I agree with you also I think that Tom didn’t have the Sicilian connections that he needed to get information ahead of disaster in wartime.... a lot of guarded information came from long established family and trusted contacts that even were established and lead back to Italy. Plus Tom needed more experience in people observation, he totally dropped the ball on the Bazinni being the real threat... like you explained in your 5 family video
I am loving your posts! They really make you think! Thanks again for sharing!
what a great video! I'm pretty sure whoever has done it must has a Corleone blood
I believe that Sun Tzu approves. Thanks for putting up this video!
the key is this in my opinion: use force only when necesary, absorb and listen, act emotionless, impartial judement, be fair, be honest, be humble and have the same amount of love and hate.
That was very good thank you
Thanks Bill! Glad you enjoyed 🙌
Absolutely love it 😍

That’s easy. Be a smug asshole that acts superior and condescending to everyone...that’s the George Clooney way.
Vito has a different take on life than Micheal .. He had the right wife. She came from Italy and understood her role where Kay didn’t because she grew up in a middle class home and was a college graduate. She never accepted what her life was with her marriage to Micheal demanded.
You should make a video on the battle of saragarhi, it was 21 guys vs 15k

@@anamariagutierrez2019 the art of war, so much to learn. Most of all, the wise man says nothing or as little as possible
The problem is, even people of modest intelligence will have figured out these principles for themselves. Your opponent will know at least as much about gaining the advantage as you do. That’s why it is so difficult to outmaneuver someone. Having an opponent who is a complete moron is quite rare.
Would you do a video on the breaking bad/better call Saul characters?

Thanks Gareth! Glad you enjoy them my man, if you ever have any characters you want to see broken down just let me know 🙌
Vito should have immediately known it was Barzini all along when he walked into the meeting. Barzini was seated at the head of the damned table!
lol exactly what I was thinking when I watched the movie for the first time
Vito Corleone may not be the protagonist of the films but he definitely steals the show in every scene he’s in. Especially with the late and great Marlon Brando portraying him.
That’s not to say Robert De Niro did a crap job at portraying him. De Niro captured the essence of Vito in his younger years. But Marlon Brando was the definitive prime of Vito’s height of power. If you were to picture Vito Corleone, Marlon Brando’s portrayal will almost always pop into your mind.
"The loudest man in room, is the weakest man in the room"!
Okay, brother... it's time to do the first season from Sons of Anarchy.

Most definitely 🙌
Great work:)
Thanks! 💯
Marlon Brando would be a great character study as well
Being this strategic it makes you wonder why Vito didn't emphasize these principles with Sonny (his heir apparent)? From an emotional intelligence standpoint Sonny was the polar opposite of his father.
I feel like the phrase "you can bring a horse to the river, but you can't make it drink" applied in Sonny's and Vito's relationship 💭
