Respect to Irfan Pathan, he's the only way he never tarnished Chappel's image to justify his failures.
People forget that youngsyers like Gambhir, Raina, Chawla, Uthhapa, Rohit would never have made to the team if not for Greg Chappell.
He was entrusted with bringing a transition from senior to junior player, but failed with India's early exit in 2007 WC. But when the seniors rested, the youngsters won 2007 WT20 and most of them came through duing his years as coach
No doubt, his approach had issues, but he tried to separate Test and limited overs success and was encouraging a team first over individual emphasis culture
His approach only created uncomfortable surroundings in the dressing room. At that time senior players not even was out of form and everything was perfect in the team. Still in the name of making transition chappel created rift between players. He went personal with some players and kept on experimenting till the 2007 world cup while other teams were ready with their players line up even 1 year before world cup. He also told zaheer khan that you won't get place in indian team until i am the coach. What is the need for that? His job was to coach selected players. More than the coaching keeping up unity and positivity is more important in that he failed very badly. Since senior players had played 2007 5o over world cup they were given rest to t20 world cup not forced to leave the team that's why india won that world cup. Still sehwag harbajan like experienced players were there in the team in t20. Making the team independent without depending on star players is okay. But keep on experimenting with team till big tournament like world cup being aggressive towards players is not right. After snatching captaincy frm ganguly and giving it to dravid again after wc he asked sachin to snatch the captaincy from dravid and be the captain of indian team was it right?
Super interesting to listen to Hayden. Irfan made some good points, but there were reports at the end about what Chappel said to Tendulkar, and hearing those I cannot believe his intentions were pure. He was also arrogant and carried the "white man's burden."
Gautam gambhir is just synonym of Mr Chappel. If he would be coach then he will make sure that his team is fit united and disciplined. He will a wolf and Indian team will be his pack

Irfan Bhai you are wrong.. Greg Chappel's intention was not pure. He came to just make disputes in our Indian cricket team. Because at that time.Indian Cricket team was going great guns
