Not just in cold climates. But they do show up in the winter months. Southeast Texas here and we always treat for them this time of year. Never an issue any other time of the year.

How would you treat a goat with symptoms? Same method or apply differently? They have hair loss, crusts etc.

Same method for lice but if it’s mites that’s a different treatment. Usually crust is mites. Especially around the feet and butt. Ivermectin injectable for three weeks once a week for mites.
