I love the lead-up to this scene, where the Doctor is ranting, Rory is trying to get his attention, the Doctor keeps ignoring him, and then goes, "Not now, Rory! I have the feeling I'm forgetting something very important!" Doctor walks out of the room. ...Doctor slowly walks back in, staring at Rory. Cue this clip.
"Something standing in front of me, looking at me right in the face" *angle changes to show Rory standing 3 feet in front of him, looking directly at him.* "Yeah, definitely."
I love how in the Impossible Astronaut, Rory pokes the past Doctor after he sees a future Doctor die, just like how the Doctor poked him after seeing another not-dead Rory
Rory did that to the Doctor too in The Impossible Astronaut "How can you be here?" *pokes the Doctor in the chest twice* Guess its their thing. I suppose all best friends/companions/fathers-&sons-in-law should have things..............
Doctor is like that one friend we all have, that no matter how hard the truth is, always tells us how it is. Also, I imagine the Doctor has to hold in a lot of guilt, because of what happened to his friends as a result of his adventures, but I know the Doctor is a good person. It's just that unfortunate circumstances often lead to disaster.
@@craytherlaygaming2852 You can tell from the dialog too. The Doctor says "I'm missing something obvious, Rory." And Rory says "Yeah, I think you probably are."

Rory was best companion, certainly in new Who. Sadly underutilized. There was a point after which I was like "ENOUGH WITH THE AMY CENTRIC STORIES, I WANT RORY STORY!"
love this awkward scene. The Doctor probably missed his friend terribly, but he doesn't want to admit it. So what do guys do in a situation like that? Haha
WELL, I'm pretty sure that the whole thirteen lives thing is more of a legal limit than a physiological one. He DID mention in The Sarah Jane Adventures that he could do it 507 times, and, now that the Time Lords are gone, who knows how much longer the Doctor will be around?
DARK reyna No. We don't know that River gave up ALL her regenerations for one. We just know that she used her regenerative energy to restore the doctor. It wasn't a transfer of regenerations from River to The Doctor. It was more akin to one car jump starting another.
enrique jones also it doesn't matter as we know when and where River dies in her future already and she looks like River. So even if she still had regenerations (which she didn't) she would look like River for the rest of her life.

YT thinks I'm a Who fan because I've watched so many criticisms of series 11 and 12. I'm just a supporter of storytelling for the sake of storytelling, not agenda.
No, because all that energy was spent in reviving him, but there has been some speculation as to weather Timelords are biologically restricted to 12 regenerations or if it was Gallifreyan law that they not exceed that number.
No but think how long he has lived, over, he has lived longer than the doctor! Plus there's the whole "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" thing, only considering that he HAS died, I'm going to assume that makes him even stronger

(spoilers!) Sorry, Rory, but... you died. Then you didn't exist. Then you were plastic. Then Amy died. Then there were two Amy's. Then there were two doctors. Then the universe imploded. I love that he does the poke test to see if Rory is really there.
Never know with holograms these days. Fair assessment.

It's made so much better by how Rory hardly reacts aside from just rocking back and forth in response to said poke.
Ah yes the highly scientific poke test
