The Vat of Acid idea reminds me of the Pirates of The Pancreas. Some old idea Rick had that he’s waaaay to attached to that gets dumped on by everyone.

I loved this episode. It was definitely an instant Rick and morty classic. It had such a mix of emotion and comedy. And gives us more reasons to be pissed at Jerry.

Rick's laser gun didn't need to be charged when Morty shot it. It was turned to a lower setting so Rick could shoot a hole in the gangsters ladle.

At the start of this episode i thought they were gonna pull a bojack horseman and rick and morty are going to say in the “acid” for the full episode while the mobster aliens were gonna have a big monologue.

Totally agree this is THE best episode of this season. No fan service. No meta humor. Just a good old fashioned episode about a grandpa murdering hundreds of versions of himself.

Literally cried when I remembered rick told morty to go nuts with the device.
This is by far the best episode of Rick and Morty so far. Change my mind. I watched it again after watching it the first time. Then I watched it two more times that day.

I like the irony that they talked about feminism and women having speaking parts 2 episodes ago, and the most important female character here doesn’t have a name, doesn’t speak and only interacts with Morty for romantic reasons.
Not really ironic, the whole point of Morty passing the Bechdel Test then was to break the barrier by telling a story that’s different enough from what Rick and Morty is normally like. They’re basically saying “we know we don’t pass your stupid feminism test and we don’t care”.
Battlesheep I thought it was to prove a point that the bechdel test alone cannot decide whether a story is good enough or not. And that it’s better to have well written male characters then poorly written female characters because they have to avoid using a certain formula. Basically we should cut male writers slack for not knowing how to write a convincing female character.
Uh he’s saying make that two after seeing how good summer’s order looked lol.
also has anyone else thought about how rick said "a cocky morty can lead to some big problems" in episode 10 season 1 and rick said in the opening scene "when did you get so cocky"

In all the episodes I have watched so far the clock in Rick's garage lab is always at 2:00 either day or night

The ice cream flavors (at least 4 of them) are based on Rick and Morty artists and designers. Kinda cool.

When Rick says “when did my job become pitching you ideas”
The last time they mentioned pitching ideas it was with Rick and “pirates of the pancreas” it would make sense for Rick to be touchy when it comes to pitching ideas because the last time they didn’t like it.
I don't know how you missed the obvious one.. When Morty finds himself in a romance simulation, the soundtrack in the background is similar to the SIMS soundtrack, everything that happens around that theme looks like the SIMS gameplay..
The mind blowers death could be a nod to mind blowers being 3x8 and this is 4x8. This series does have a time loop theme running through it.

When Morty “reset just to get 2 of his meal” he actually saw summers meal and decided he wanted to get it also
When Rick calls the acid mountain dew during the cop with the ladle scene, the Netflix subtitles say Dr Pibb instead of mountain dew. I just thought that was cool/weird

Matthew Hale depending on your country, it actually is... learned that when we went to Ireland during season 2 and were able to watch the newest episode like 2 days after it aired while in our hotel on a laptop. Its odd but real lol

Rick's extreme reaction to Morty's cocky attitude refers very clearly to Rick's earlier statement that a cocky Morty can lead to some big problems. The slowly shifting dynamics in the relationship between Rick and Morty + the whole merging of all the horrible memories into one Morty seems like another huge build up to Evil Morty.

I think Rick knows about evil morty and the rise of the Morty Ratio to Rick... so this was like a win win to keep the morty ratio lower than ricks...
I kept telling my friends that the ball Rick was working on in the garage at the first part of the episode was the flying death ball from Phantasm..

2:46 I don't think thr blaster "wasn't charged". Rick had toned down its power to blast the ladel that the maffia guys had lowered to make it seem like the ladel had dissolved in the acid.
Morty shot with a low-power gun. Rick took over and put it at maximum power again.
Was not prepared for the Harambe tribute
Would have been a clever foreshadowing to have some of the ice cream flavor names change in every reset to signify the AUs as Ricky mentions Rocky Road's differences at the end of the episode.
I don't really think that the series finale of Futurama is what Rick was referring to. The Futurama video game has that very idea as a very meta video game mechanic in which the Professor invented a device to respawn your character when you die.
